Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-361496966
OU's not an OM but you can't change the fact that this was a 667 turn long pif battle Nevermind the replay crashes at 332

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-361739794
Zoroark gimmick (both Zoroark and Mew have the exact same moves and I distributed EVs to make them even more similar to boot) and others versus annoying Ninjask setupper. Guess who wins.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-361774583
Zoroark 6-0s a mono-early gen (Crobat is gen 2) team, without its disguise breaking. I think it's a metaphor for something.

  • (L) Hyper Beam Sylveon.
  • (R) Life Orb Xerneas with Geomancy setupping in front of Scizor.
  • (L) X-Scissor Scizor when Bug Bite exists.
  • (R) Torrent Greninja.
  • ★Educerq:scizor with roos wtf

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-361836207
4 Pokémon on each side, including a Smeargle and a Magikarp per side... and it's rated.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-361838008
Mew team wins, partly thanks to Dark Pulse Aggron and Body Slam Entei on right.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-361838021
  • (R) Flamethrower + Fire Blast Mega Aerodactyl.
  • (L) Regice, with Blizzard and no hail support.
  • (R) So that Charizard isn't a Mega. It has Overheat, Focus Blast (which crits at -4 SpA, knocking out Mega Kangaskhan) and... Double-Edge.
  • (L) Mega Kangaskhan with Thunder. Both tries failed on Charizard.
  • (R) Alakazam using Zen Headbutt and Double-Edge (again?) on Steelix. Of course, that tickles the iron snake.
  • (R) While Steelix is spamming Dragon Tail, Deoxys-S uses Extreme Speed on it.
  • Match ends in a Mewtwo sweep. It took its time with 2 suboptimal moves against Togekiss without being paraflinched even once before finishing it off.

Castform 1, mono-Steel 0.

Lucario saves the world from a self-proclaimed terrorist team.

(R) Mono Poison with Whirlipede and Golbat.
(L) Looks like he brought a Megamons team (plus Serperior). And not even a good one, at that. Why? You'll see.
(R) (username) WRONG LEVER!
(L) Power-up Punch+Flamethrower+Dragon Claw+Air Slash Charizard-X.
(R) For a while, I thought that the Drapion thought it was Vespiquen.
(random spectator) Hot girl hun: Hack mins is lame (well, she's not really wrong, although her spelling sure is)
(L) Tyranitar was at least smart enough to use a super effective move (Earthquake) on Drapion. It then set up Curse instead of attacking, while Toxic Spikes wore it down.
(R)
★PullTheLeverKronk: dude
★PullTheLeverKronk: use your brain
(L) Kangaskhan, deprived of Parental Bond due to BH banning it, tries to set up, then paralyze Drapion, to no avail.
(L) Metagross also uses Power-up Punch, at which point R reveals Drapion has Unaware.
(L) Upon hearing this, Metagross, realizing PuP is futile, opts for... Hone Claws.
(L) It then uses Zen Headbutt on Drapion, then dies. L forfeits after this.

This is like the third or fourth time PullTheLeverKronk has shown up on this thread. But for once, he isn't the primary offender.

Only two Pokemon. And a questionable username.

When your Ninetales is doing under 10% damage in the sun, you may want to consider sending something else into battle. Also a random Energy Ball Serperior.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-362392801
This entire battle. Highlights include 2 Mummy users, one of which was TrickScarf Deoxys-N, Watchog, and Pyroar.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-362393616
Salamence daring to use Outrage when the opponent had Xerneas on his team, said Xerneas having Geomancy but no Power Herb, and a mildly amusing turn 13.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-362392543
Left forfeits at team preview, and looking at the teams, it's not hard to see why.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-362391860
Ice Beam+Giga Impact Snorlax, which manages to freeze Registeel turn 1, Rocky Helmet Gengar, and more.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-362392637
Nidoking managing to outspeed a +1 Dragonite without a Scarf, to the confusion of both players, on the way to a sweep with 1% HP.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-362391079
At first, when I saw MMY use Shadow Ball on an obvious Zoroark in disguise as an Aegislash, I thought, "Well, at least it didn't use Psystrike." Well, guess what happened the very next turn. It doesn't get any better after that. (Torrent Greninja, normal Charizard, and more.)

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-362404283
Right is a repeat offender from one of the earlier replays in this post. Left has only two mons, one of which is Simple Acupressure Deoxys-S, which hilariously boosted its speed the first time it used it.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-362402135
Another repeat offender, and we have Skiddo among the bad things here.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-362396483
Two different replays, both against the same person. I'll leave these two to you guys.
(L): Non-Mega Kangaskhan
(L): Amnesia Wobuffet
(L): Perish Song Goodra, without Soundproof, never mind the fact Registeel is better at that job
(L): Non-Mega Houndoom, with Tail Glow. There are better Tail Glow users, especially thanks to it having only 110 base Special Attack where there are much better special attackers.
(L): That name.
(L): Spamming status against a Pokemon he knows has Aromatherapy
(L): Said Goodra also has Topsy-Turvy. Once again, like with PS, there are better abusers of the move.
(L): Belly Drum Mega Mawile
(L): Talk about getting hoisted by your own petard.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-362411183
[L] Bagon. Carrying an off-STAB Brick Break, no less.
[R] Durant. That isn't necessarily atrocious on its own, but it does nothing but spam Bite the entire time it's out.
[L] Barboach. It's Special, featuring Earth Power and Blizzard during the time that it's out.
[R] Mega Salamence doing nothing but spamming Fly the entire time. It has Aerilate, you know... (Also, it gets three KOs just by spamming Fly.)
[L] Basculin. Set seems to be okay, though.
[L] Baltoy. With Ancient Power.
[L] Mixed Barbaracle carrying Blizzard, Brick Break, and Ancient Power. Bizarrely, no Shell Smash.
[R] Mixed Drapion. Said Special move is Sludge Bomb (at least it's STAB...)
[L] Special non-Mega Banette.

I think what we can learn from this is that left really likes Blizzard, Brick Break, and Ancient Power for some reason
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-362416679
Left is mono-Kyurem. All of them feature Swagger and Return on their movesets. Meanwhile, Right has Cinccino and Brick Break Lickilicky.

OML I DIDNT EVEN SEE SHOCK WAVE UNTIL JUST NOW WHY DOES HYDREIGON EVEN LEARN THAT
Shock Wave has bizarrely wide distribution to begin with. Just for a few examples, Tangrowth, Qwilfish, Chandelure, and Pelipper can all learn it through Move Tutor (and TM in previous generations where it's applicable).

now I want to see someone using Shock Wave Pelipper. it's not as bad as Water Pulse Blissey, right?

Shock Wave Pelipper is a common build in NU. It allows you to 1v1 opposing Pelipper with ease.

(Just kidding)

[R] Omastar...? It's totally outclassed in anything it could do, but if you really feel like using it, go ahead, I guess...
[L] This wasn't necessarily a bad play but I laughed a little when Regigigas tried using Spore on Omastar and it got bounced back.
[R] The Omastar has a Rocky Helmet. That's one way to capitalize on its high Defense, I guess... Not using Omastar is the better option, though.
[R] ★fear and articuno: !dt boomburst <<< apparently doesn't know what -ate abilities are. c'mon, this is basic stuff... for BH standards, anyway.
[R] Light of Ruin + Life Orb Trace Arceus. I can only assume that it was banking on Tracing Magic Guard or something... but in that case, why not just run Magic Guard instead? (Also, it stays in after being Cursed and KOs itself afterwards for its troubles.)
[R] Mega Mewtwo Y has 3 Psychic STABs, including Future Sight, Psystrike, and the bad Dream Eater. That's a bit overkill, don't you think?
[R] Never mind not knowing what -ate abilities are, this person doesn't know what switching is. Or just doesn't know that Curse gets removed by switching, I dunno.
[L] Turn 16: Again, not a bad play but now I know what a Magic Bounced Parting Shot does. That's pretty interesting, actually.
[R] Lombre. Hydro Cannon Lombre, at that.
[R] Lombre reveals its second Water move. Just Hydro Pump would have been enough, thanks (or just DON'T USE LOMBRE)
[R] Peeko was a Wingull, not a Slakoth... Also, Slakoth. With Fairy Aura, for some reason.
[R] Happy Hour Magikarp. (didn't want to point this out but for completeness's sake I have to)
[R] MMY uses Spore on Aegislash again despite already knowing that Aegi is holding Safety Goggles.
[R] Right apparently already won more than one match before this. Given how bad low-ladder BH is, I can't say I'm surprised... okay, I am surprised.

edit: also, Hydro Pump in and of itself is also a bit silly given that Origin Pulse and especially Steam Eruption are superior to it. not that bad though
I probably either missed a few things or some of the things I listed aren't actually silly. feel free to correct me if needed

Porygon2 shutting down Sudowoodo, Spike Cannon Corsola, and Rock Wrecker + Fling Iron Ball Rhyperior.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-363603398
  • (L) Super Fang + Thunder Wave Dedenne. And Dedenne in general.
  • (R) Sticky Web Spinarak, with a cute nickname.
  • (L) Magnet Rise + Infestation Stunfisk.
  • (L) Both Dedenne and Stunfisk let Scolipede set up Spikes and Toxic Spikes.
  • (L) Air Balloon Electivire comes in against +2 Def Scolipede and only deals 25% with Fire Punch.
  • (L) Rocky Helmet Electrode who finally manages to defeat Scolipede, not without fainting itself though.
  • (R) Skorupi enters (presumably with Eviolite and an even cuter name), trying to trap Dedenne with Infestation.
  • (L) Dedenne reveals the second part of its moveset: RestTalk.
  • (R) Ariados replaces Skorupi, severely weakens Dedenne and defeats Electivire with the help of hazards.
  • (L&R) Little Skorupi outstalls a Luxray with Night Slash (when Crunch exists), Quick Attack and Ice Fang.
  • (L) Stunfisk paralyzes Skorupi with Static before revealing Sludge Bomb (yep, it used this on a Poison-type target).
  • (R) Both Joltik (Choice Band?) and Galvantula beat Eelektross.
  • Right, with its 3 LC Bug-types, defeats left's fully evolved mono-Electric team.

This one is yours.

(R) Pikachu Rock Star. You want Belle, because Light Ball Wild Charge+Icicle Crash can actually kinda hurt.
(L) Greninja switches into Blastoise when there's a Volcanion right there. Gren is at least Protean with Hydro/Dark Pulse/Grass Knot/Ice Beam (but no Life Orb; Belt, maybe?) and proceeds to heavily dent half the opposing team.
(R) Blastoise does get Aura Sphere, you know.
(R) Venusaur is the mega, which means non-mega Zard. Looking forward to this. Also, Leaf Storm on a mon that's generally intended to stay in for a few turns at a time.
(R) The first of two Arceus on this team is revealed to be Fighting. With Blast Burn, used on an 18% Greninja.
(L) Flying Press has a ton of novelty value, sure, but it just isn't that useful competitively.
(R) Zard has Blast Burn too, and then dodges a Head Smash on the recharge turn.
(L) Aerial Ace (at least Mega) Beedrill. What are you hitting with that?
(R) Special Arceus-Normal reveals Focus Blast against Beedrill (what, to catch Pyroar coming in?). So, CM/Judgment/FB/something? Nope, it drops a Draco. Which Bee lives.
(R) Pikachu is sacked, which is a damn shame, because I wanted to see this. Also, Showdown still doesn't have proper sprites for Cosplay Pikachu even though it's been a year and a half since ORAS' release.
(R) ★bjxcbn: your dumb get a life

Gren is at least Protean with Hydro/Dark Pulse/Grass Knot/Ice Beam (but no Life Orb; Belt, maybe?) and proceeds to heavily dent half the opposing team.

It's Lefties.
