Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-354128105
Geomancy+Doom Desire Golurk, Dragon Breath Mega Ampharos, Water Shuriken Mega Gyarados putting on work, and Simple Shell Smash+Psycho Boost+Zen Headbutt Deoxys-A.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/abilityunity-354128664
Swampert not noticing Magic Bounce and using Roar, Assault Vest Needle Arm Chesnaught, and Octillery.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-354126682
Klefki ain't got shit on Liepard, which carried the other five mons on the team. Of course, if right's Sylveon was smart and carried Pixilate Hyper Voice, it could have prevented that.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/1v1-354139702
Discharge Mega Ampharos, meet stall Delphox.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/doubleshackmonscup-354136647
Panpour getting an item it can actually use, Weepinbell accidentally screwing over its own teammate with Discharge paralysis, and Ferrothorn's Flame Body activating twice in one turn.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-354138056
Running away from offensive Smeargle? Welcome to AG.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-354132111
Choice Scarf Iron Head Raikou and Assault Vest Regirock.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-354139876
Right looks like he's stuck in RBY, complete with paralysis. (If you've ever played RBY, you'll know what I mean.)

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-354144902
RU players, look away.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-354145145
Zangoose sweep. Well, sort of.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-354143813
Sableye+Trevenant stall is just depressing. Especially facing a Boomburst Flygon, Dive Mega Swampert, and Sludge Bomb Nidoking (look, since you have no business not using SF, just take the extra power).

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-354143709
SLEEP. CLAUSE. Also, the incredibly rare Focus Blast SpD drop...on Defiant Braviary, which thankfully was U-Turning out.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/megamons-354145365
In a game full of megas, the humble Landorus proves it can still shine.

New batch tonight! Come get 'em while they're piping hot!

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-354614063
Who the hell finds Scizor attractive? Somebody, apparently.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-354614265
No words. Okay, three words: Open freaking season. The clincher:
★LJDARKTHUNDER: u cant mega evolve twice?

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/challengecup1v1-354615503
Welp. Also, a discussion of how being most prevents acts of terrorism.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-354614682
Mono-Normal, meet Mega Lucario.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-354611962
Metagross, why haven't you Mega Evolved? Whoops, Mega Meta is banned in Monotype, the more you know. (Shoutout to @LordBraixen.) Also, Sash Reversal Combusken wins the day again.

That's my cue!
(R) Hydro Cannon Greninja. At least it had Protean, but really.
(L) Dugtrio stays in, dodges said Hydro Cannon, and lands a Fissure on Greninja.
(L) Dugtrio continues to stay in when Primal Kyogre is sent out. Admittedly, it doesn't have much else to do against a mono-Water team.
(R) Kyogre apparently does not have Thunder. It's able to easily KO Dugtrio (who isn't even carrying a Sash, by the way) with Origin Pulse anyway.
(L) "Jose'" the Own Tempo Ludicolo. It's not that hard to c/p....
(L) Energy Ball Ludicolo. It gets Giga Drain.
(R) Uses Water Spout on said Ludicolo before getting a crit with Ice Beam.
(L) Deals a grand total of 32% with Starmie's Thunderbolt (and takes 78% in return from an Origin Pulse)... then uses Confuse Ray on the switched in Azumarill.
(R) Mixed Azumarill. It didn't even look like it had Huge Power. It's able to take down Starmie with a Play Rough, but falls to...
(L) actually a pretty reasonable Charizard X set that dodges a Hydro Pump while setting up.
(L) Using Flare Blitz on Empoleon. You have Earthquake. Use it.
(R) Scald + Hydro Pump Mega Swampert. If you're going to use that, it's probably a bad idea to use Primal Kyogre. ScarfOgre would work much better.
(L) Non-Mega, Non-Power Herb Charizard. It spams Solar Beam, dodging yet another Hydro Pump (Seriously, don't use Hydro Pump) to take down Swampert, charges Solar Beam as Palkia whiffs still another Hydro Pump, but tragically gets KO'd when Palkia actually hits it.

Left's team is composed entirely of two Xerneas and two Yveltal. Unfortunately left forfeited at the team preview, which is a shame because I wanted to see what their movesets were.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-354984969
Mono-Talonflame (right) versus what looks to be a bad UU team (left). Right wins, but only barely.
★QqwertyRrain:holy mother of taloneflame

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-354987720
(L) Tail Glow + Baton Pass Volbeat isn't totally awful given that it's the only Pokémon that gets that combination, I guess... but passing it to Golduck is.
(L) Golduck.
(R) Chandelure proceeds to stay in on Golduck and use Overheat again even though Ferrothorn is a fairly safe switch-in to Golduck.
(R) Chandelure faints itself by using Curse (is Curse Chandelure a thing?). Only then does right switch into Ferrothorn.
(R) Payback Ferrothorn isn't too bad given how slow it is... but given Ferrothorn in general has a decent case of 4MSS, it'd be much better off running Gyro Ball since that gets STAB and has a much higher potential base power.
(R) Conkeldurr stays in the turn after a Mewtwo switches in and proceeds to get OHKO'd for its trouble.
(R) Reuniclus seems to have Skill Swap, Heal Block, and Wonder Room on its moveset. The latter seals its doom owing to Mewtwo's Thunder. (that's a bit questionable too but I presume it's to hit Kyogre)

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-354987725
(L) Pikachu. It's not even a Cosplay Pikachu either. For shame.
(R) Non-Mega Banette. Not that Mega Banette is any good, but it's at least better than its normal form. (Said Banette is also Special, too.)
(L) Sylveon is running Moonblast and Draining Kiss. Judging by that, it's probably Cute Charm, which is a huge error of judgment on the team-builder's part given that Sylveon also has the infinitely-better Pixilate at its disposal.
(R) Pain Split Mega Gardevoir? Not that that's awful, mind, it just surprised me a little bit when I saw it.
(L) Metagross, Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur, all of which are non-Mega. You could make one of them a Mega, you know
(R) Thunder Punch (non-Mega) Sceptile. I see the intent, I guess, but it's just so weak coming from Sceptile that I don't see it to be worth it.
(R) Special (probably full-Special by the looks of it) non-Mega Sharpedo. It switches in on Charizard, which is questionable because Sharpedo is so frail that it shouldn't be switching into even resists.
(R) Delcatty. Let that sink in for a moment. It uses Blizzard on Venusaur and misses twice in a row. (And Venusaur Toxics it instead of just killing it with Sludge Bomb.)
(L) Blast Burn Charizard. This isn't 1v1, you know. (although to be fair it ended the battle, so it wasn't punished later)

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-354998194
This battle is only notable because Right has only three Pokémon, one of which is Nightmare Darkrai. There's also the turn 4 forfeit, but I suppose that's justified in-context...

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-354998910
Left is mono-Ice, featuring Snorunt, Bergmite, and non-Power Herb Ice Burn Kyurem-White. Right has Whirlipede, made worse by the fact that Cofagrigus is carrying Toxic Spikes so Whirlipede has nothing unique to do.

(might add more later but I'm tired of watching battles right now so it'll be a bit)

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-355042375
Magneton versus the world. No Sturdy means a Fissure to the face.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/stabmons-355037408
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/stabmons-355034315
Pretty sure this is STABmons, not Monotype. Also, given the rarity of STABmons, these games have an audience. The chat's pretty entertaining in both cases.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/origin-monotype-266708
Here we have Trevenant+Cradily stall. It, too, is quite depressing.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-355039706
Tell me Ambipom did not lock itself into Knock Off. I'll take "How to get Swept by SubCM Keldeo" for $200, Alex.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/1v1-355040491
The Shedinja mirror--one of them carrying a Rocky Helmet. It wins, per the self-KO rules.

Fresh batch of 8 replays coming!

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-355320028
Starting from turn 8, +6 evasion Chandelure is hit 4 times out of 5. Includes Leftovers Stunky and Earth Power Garchomp.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-355320104
Swoobat vs. the world.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-355323630
Left forfeits while right only obtains shitty moves from Metronome. Guess why.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-355335624
Another +6 evasion attacker hit through its boosts (Sash offensive Smeargle). Meanwhile, right has an incomplete Red team.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-355336465
Scarf Gallade obliterates a mono-Darkrai team (next time, give at least one of them a Sash). What Eevee is doing in right remains a mystery.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-355339713
I let you describe this one.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-355339945
HGSS team on right with two starters (Bayleef and Typhlosion). Turn 1 is... weird.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-355339976
  • (L) Aegislash not even attempting to use King's Shield (revealed only on turn 8) while asleep (protip: Stance Change works even while asleep, as left should have noticed on first turn). It also has both Iron Head and Gyro Ball.
  • (R) Meanwhile, Darkrai doesn't seem to pack Dark Pulse.
  • (L&R) From turn 8, we have a really silly Aegislash vs. Aegislash duel. Left's one had to wait for turn 10 to reveal Shadow Ball, which doesn't trigger King's Shield attack reduction unlike its other attacks.
  • (L) Bug Buzz Rocky Helmet Scizor.
  • (L) Aggron using Earthquake on non-Mega Gengar.

You asked for it.

(R) Random Protect on several mons.
(L) Ice Beam+Blizzard+Avalanche Lapras.
(L) Falling for Destiny Bond.
(R) SPLASH WOBBUFFET.
(R) Special Sharpedo was a thing in RU before it got banned. It's not a thing in AG, however.
(R) Sucker Punch Mismagius.
(L) Porygon2 responding to that by using Tri Attack.
(R) The second Destiny Bond kill of the game.
(L) Mega Kangaskhan using EQ on Gengar.
(R) Said Gengar had Dark Pulse.
(R) And then a third Destiny Bond kill. 7.8/10 too much kamikaze.
(L) Bibarel ever, with no Moody, using Double-Edge on Banette (which at least was mega).
(R) Dark Pulse Banette. DARK IS NOT GHOST (again). To be fair, it can at least get away with using Sucker Punch over Shadow Sneak because the former is actually stronger, but this is not acceptable.
(L) Bibarel pulls off a double Protect, but fails the triple, and then fails a second double Protect attempt a few turns later.
(L) Kangaskhan uses Double-Edge and Power-up Punch on Banette before killing it with Earthquake, but not before eating another Dark Pulse and slogging its way through two more uses of Protect.

Sorry for the short time in between posts, but this one is too stupid to not share.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-355430454

(R) Those nicknames.
(R) The infamous FEAR Cottonee.
(L) Non-mega Mawile with Flamethrower, Shadow Ball, Pain Split, and the completely useless (in this case) Hyper Cutter.
(L) Mawile continuing to spam Flamethrower against CM Arceus-Steel (already a questionable set) despite doing all of 10%.
(L) Infernape uses Overheat on the Steelceus, somehow lives the Judgment, and takes it out with a critical Blaze Kick.
(L) Ludicolo uses Rain Dance in front of Primal Groudon. It later uses Zen Headbutt and eats a Sitrus Berry.
(R) Groudon tries to get past +6 with Rock Polish and, for its troubles, dies to...
(L) Mega Latios.
(L) After getting Encored into Draco Meteor by Cottonee, Latios stays in for the entire Encore, when it had two teammates still up.
(L) Rotom-N uses Thunder on Giratina-A. A few turns later, it uses Volt Switch when its teammates are all dead.
(R) Giratina uses Defog for no apparent reason.
(R) Klefki uses Spikes when Rotom is the last mon left. It does, however, use its swaggotry to induce a forfeit out of L.

Alrighty, new batch!

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-355480583
Thunder Wave+Gyro Ball Ferrothorn #21172, as well as FEAR Ratatta unable to do anything, Dragonite using EQ on (Boomburst Rocky Helmet) Noivern, who proceeds to complete the sweep.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/megamons-355480027
Magic Bounce, Magic Bounce everywhere. Four bounces in one game has to be some kind of record.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/origin-monotype-267987
Victini switches into Tyranitar, then WP Gigalith forgets how slow it is, and then 18-19 happens.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-355481082
Why would you run two Excadrill? Just why? Oh, and then we see yet another non-Primal Kyogre--not even Scarfed, either--finishing the game, including hitting two Sheer Colds.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-355480009
What is switching? At least the one switch all game is a smart one. Also for you Ubers players, Arceus-Fire sighting.

EDIT: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/unratedrandombattle-355556359
This is a Mega Gyarados sweep of mine. Count all the reasons said sweep should never have happened.
