This team makes use of some of the new faces in Neverused like Scolipede and Jynx. It's pretty standard compared to other teams being used by good players on the ladder Pokemon wise, but it's based on sweeping with a set that isn't very commonly seen. The metagame is pretty hectic right now, but it's relatively unexplored right now and is extremely fun to play.
Seismitoad @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
This team has a lot of Pokemon that can't really afford to take hits so Seismitoad sort of picks up the slack by acting as a defensive pivot in many cases. It's a lot easier to switch in than Misdreavus most of the time because of its typing and accdess to Leftovers, which makes it much harder to wear down. Seismitoad counters bascially every Electric-type provided that it doesn't switch directly into Hidden power Grass and can also handle most Water-types in a pinch if risking Jynx is not an option. The standard set runs Earth Power, but Earthquake does like eighty percent to Jynx and allows Seismitoad to check it very well. Toxic is missing from this set because Knock Off is extremely useful and cripples common targets such as Tangela and Roselia that switch in a lot.
Misdreavus @ Eviolite
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Spd
Bold Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Foul Play
- Pain Split
- Taunt
With all the Scolipede and Primeape running around Misdreavus has seen a monumental increase in usage as it can counter both Pokemon with ease. On this team, it has numerous roles, such as preventing Stealth Rocks from being set up early, breaking through most defensive Pokemon with Taunt, and countering a lot of physical threats. In most cases, Misdreavus won't be doing all of these tasks at once since it is pretty prone to being worn down by hazards or Pursuit users. However, there's no other Pokemon in the tier that can perform all these important roles for this team, which makes Misdreavus a key component to the team.
Jynx @ Life Orb
Trait: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Lovely Kiss
Say hello to the most influential Pokemon in the tier ever since it was unbanned about ten days ago. Jynx has single handedly decreased the usage of some of the biggest threats in the tier, such as Gardevoir and Special Samurott. On this team it acts as the hard hitter in the early stages of a match, smashing its way through walls with perfect coverage between its moves or putting a troublesome Pokemon to sleep. Jynx is easily worn down and extremely frail, so it doesn't usually last very long in battles, but it will net at least one kill as long as it's not played too recklessly.
Rotom-Fan @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Air Slash
- Thunderbolt
- Trick
With Primeape being so popular as a Choice Scarf user, Rotom-S has decreased in effectiveness. However, it is still a great check to a lot of Pokemon in the tier, mainly Scolipede which is on like every team. It's probably the least effective member on my team since Kangakshan covers most fast sweepers, but without Rotom-S, this team would be a lot weaker to Pokemon like Tauros and Carracosta.
Scolipede @ Salac Berry
Trait: Swarm
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
IVs: 30 HP
- Megahorn
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Baton Pass
Substitute Salac Scolipede is the star of the team and is by far the best late-game sweeper in the tier. The idea came from CrashinBoomBang, who used this set months before it even dropped into the tier in one of the Neverused Showdowns. Once sturdy Bug-type resists are removed, all it takes is one turn of set up and some accuracy with Megahorn to sweep a team clean. However, in many cases Scolipede is required to enter the match before Pokemon such as Golbat, Weezing, or Misdreavus are gone, which is where Baton Pass comes into play. It gives Scolipede the option to pass out its boosts to Kangaskhan so it can sweep or simply pivot to Jynx as the opponent switches in their counter. Even if there are no physical attackers to give your boosts to, Substitutes and Speed boosts are also very beneficial to most members of this team, especially Jynx since this allows it to avoid more hits from the opponent.
Kangaskhan @ Silk Scarf
Trait: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Double-Edge
- Earthquake
- Sucker Punch
Kangaskhan is one of the best physical attackers in the tier due to its ability to revenge kill so many threats with Fake Out and Sucker Punch while still being able to break through a lot of Pokemon with an extremely powerful Double Edge. If Scolipede manages to pass Attack and Speed to this guy then it's usually game over since Double Edge and Earthquake have nearly perfect coverage due to Scrappy. Of course, it doesn't even need any boosts to do work on the opposing team. Many people use Misdreavus as their only Normal-type counter, which means that Kangaskhan can simply spam Double Edge and hurt everything in sight.
