ride a scolipede

This team makes use of some of the new faces in Neverused like Scolipede and Jynx. It's pretty standard compared to other teams being used by good players on the ladder Pokemon wise, but it's based on sweeping with a set that isn't very commonly seen. The metagame is pretty hectic right now, but it's relatively unexplored right now and is extremely fun to play.

Seismitoad @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Knock Off

This team has a lot of Pokemon that can't really afford to take hits so Seismitoad sort of picks up the slack by acting as a defensive pivot in many cases. It's a lot easier to switch in than Misdreavus most of the time because of its typing and accdess to Leftovers, which makes it much harder to wear down. Seismitoad counters bascially every Electric-type provided that it doesn't switch directly into Hidden power Grass and can also handle most Water-types in a pinch if risking Jynx is not an option. The standard set runs Earth Power, but Earthquake does like eighty percent to Jynx and allows Seismitoad to check it very well. Toxic is missing from this set because Knock Off is extremely useful and cripples common targets such as Tangela and Roselia that switch in a lot.

Misdreavus @ Eviolite
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Spd
Bold Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Foul Play
- Pain Split
- Taunt

With all the Scolipede and Primeape running around Misdreavus has seen a monumental increase in usage as it can counter both Pokemon with ease. On this team, it has numerous roles, such as preventing Stealth Rocks from being set up early, breaking through most defensive Pokemon with Taunt, and countering a lot of physical threats. In most cases, Misdreavus won't be doing all of these tasks at once since it is pretty prone to being worn down by hazards or Pursuit users. However, there's no other Pokemon in the tier that can perform all these important roles for this team, which makes Misdreavus a key component to the team.

Jynx @ Life Orb
Trait: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Lovely Kiss

Say hello to the most influential Pokemon in the tier ever since it was unbanned about ten days ago. Jynx has single handedly decreased the usage of some of the biggest threats in the tier, such as Gardevoir and Special Samurott. On this team it acts as the hard hitter in the early stages of a match, smashing its way through walls with perfect coverage between its moves or putting a troublesome Pokemon to sleep. Jynx is easily worn down and extremely frail, so it doesn't usually last very long in battles, but it will net at least one kill as long as it's not played too recklessly.

Rotom-Fan @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Air Slash
- Thunderbolt
- Trick

With Primeape being so popular as a Choice Scarf user, Rotom-S has decreased in effectiveness. However, it is still a great check to a lot of Pokemon in the tier, mainly Scolipede which is on like every team. It's probably the least effective member on my team since Kangakshan covers most fast sweepers, but without Rotom-S, this team would be a lot weaker to Pokemon like Tauros and Carracosta.

Scolipede @ Salac Berry
Trait: Swarm
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
IVs: 30 HP
- Megahorn
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Baton Pass

Substitute Salac Scolipede is the star of the team and is by far the best late-game sweeper in the tier. The idea came from CrashinBoomBang, who used this set months before it even dropped into the tier in one of the Neverused Showdowns. Once sturdy Bug-type resists are removed, all it takes is one turn of set up and some accuracy with Megahorn to sweep a team clean. However, in many cases Scolipede is required to enter the match before Pokemon such as Golbat, Weezing, or Misdreavus are gone, which is where Baton Pass comes into play. It gives Scolipede the option to pass out its boosts to Kangaskhan so it can sweep or simply pivot to Jynx as the opponent switches in their counter. Even if there are no physical attackers to give your boosts to, Substitutes and Speed boosts are also very beneficial to most members of this team, especially Jynx since this allows it to avoid more hits from the opponent.

Kangaskhan @ Silk Scarf
Trait: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Double-Edge
- Earthquake
- Sucker Punch

Kangaskhan is one of the best physical attackers in the tier due to its ability to revenge kill so many threats with Fake Out and Sucker Punch while still being able to break through a lot of Pokemon with an extremely powerful Double Edge. If Scolipede manages to pass Attack and Speed to this guy then it's usually game over since Double Edge and Earthquake have nearly perfect coverage due to Scrappy. Of course, it doesn't even need any boosts to do work on the opposing team. Many people use Misdreavus as their only Normal-type counter, which means that Kangaskhan can simply spam Double Edge and hurt everything in sight.

I would use cacturn running an offensive life orb set over roting as it has a great STAB priority in sucker punch as it wipes out tauros and carracosta with seed bomb and drain punch respectively and has a great state booster in swords dance

This team looks very great, as they always do, however, do you think it would be better to have another option to baton pass with scoliopede, as your team has only 2 physical attackers. I hate to say it, but I would suggest Scarfed Primeape over Rotom-S. As you said, Rotom-S doesn't really do much, and stacks up your Stealth rock weakness. Primeape can also handle the threats you mentioned, tauros and carracosta that you said are problems to your team, though misdeavus counters tauros cold and seismetoad counters carracosta cold. I also thought tauros, but that would clash with kangaskan. There are really no other scarfed physical pokes I would trust besides primeape. It would be nice to be able to pass the attacking boosts to bulkier pokes, and maybe make jynx scarfed. It might be crazy, but what about Rock Polish Rampardos, or even better, Rock Polish Golem. Rock polish Golem can lure in fighting grass and water pokes that are easily handled by scolipede and Seismetoad. But that's a little far fetched. So I would change Rotom-s for scarfed primeape

I think you could make a mention of Shadow Ball on Misdreavus somewhere as a method to quickly bring down Fighting-types, particularly Gurdurr or Swords Dance Combusken, who can do a number to your team if left to their own devices (Foul Play doesn't 2HKO +2 Adamant Combusken after Life Orb), while providing little safe switches (don't count on bringing in Rotom-S or Jynx safely if Gurdurr is pitted against Misdreavus, while Combusken can Protect against Kanga's Fake Outs). There's even that rare Jolly Combusken that outspeeds Scarf Rotom after +2, so watch out for that.

wat is roting :(

primeape can't really deal with carracosta since it dies to a +2 lo aqua jet but it does fit pretty well on this team since scolipede can pass it boosts, so i'll try it out. i'm probably not gonna try those rock polish mons since they don't really cover anything defensively, which is the team's biggest problem right now.

i actually used shadow ball for the majority of the time testing with this team and i will probably alternate between those two depending on what i feel like covering. they both have their advantages but my main reason for using foul play was to be able to hit normal-types with substitute which could potentially sweep this team. combusken is a threat but it's rarely seen and will probably kill itself with flare blitz recoil before it can manage a full sweep.

I would get rid of Kanghaskan for Zangoose. Even with the good coverage, Zangoose simply hits a lot harder with the Toxic Boost.

Zangoose may hit harder but it is very frail, while Kangaskhan has a really nice bulk, moreover, Kanga is a great priority user with Fake Out and Sucker Punch, it prevents some user to use Rain Dance etc...

basically what hc said; zangoose doesn't really have any redeeming qualities over kangaskhan besides being a lot stronger, but this team doesn't lack power at all and i lose the ability to check a lot more threats by replacing kangaskhan

I would keep Rotom-S regardless just so that you have another check to Swellow and Braviary (and the occasional Special Flying attacker). Right now, you have no notable vulnerabilities and can deal with most of the top threats of the tier. The only thing I would suggest is Hidden Power Grass over Thunderbolt, and it still isn't really necessary since you should be able to deal with most Rock-types easily. Rock-types are still a bit of a nuisance if your tam is worn down, though I assume most of the time they are defeated long before they become a problem. It doesn't hurt to have an immediate response to Ground-types as well since they interfere with your Volt Switches.

The only other thing I feel is necessary to point out is that you should Speed creep with Misdreavus to outpace standard Skuntank and even Adamant Rampardos. EBeast's 40 Speed EVs are enough and you can afford to lower Missy's bulk a slight bit since she'll still wall what you need her to wall. Then again, you did mention that you secretly speed creep anyways, so maybe the point is moot. :P

Excellent team as always fooly cooly! :pimp:

the only qualm with hp grass is that i lack a reliable attack to spam against flying-types with substitute like braviary, articuno, and charizard. also if i predict a ground-type coming in to absorb volt switch i usually just go to seismitoad or jynx right away which accomplishes the same thing since you have to predict to use hp grass anyways.

and yeah i do run speed creeps on missy but i'm not revealing then ;)
