Pet Mod Regional Evolutions (Concluded for Generation 8)

All right, I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to be firm here: Double Iron Bash on a 110-Speed mon has got to go. The only way that move stays balanced is by being on something slow as molasses; that’s why just about every OM bans either it or Melmetal. The Speed needs to be dropped to about 40 or 50 for Double Iron Bash to be acceptable. I’d suggest putting those extra points in Sp. Atk to make Revelation Dance more enticing to use. If you don’t want to change the base stats, you’ll have to go with a signature move that doesn’t have two independent 30% flinch chances.

Typing:

Abilities: Poison Touch / Oblivious | Stench
Stats: 42 HP / 30 Atk / 38 Def / 30 SpA / 38 SpD / 32 Spe / 210 BST
Weight (kg): 5.9

New Moves: Acid, Apple Acid, Leech Seed, Sludge Bomb, Toxic Spikes, Venoshock
Removed Moves: Aromatherapy, Aromatic Mist, Play Nice, Play Rough, Safeguard, Sweet Scent

Flavor/Design:
Instead of a Mangosteen, this Bounsweet is a sad little moldy apple. But not just any apple, the spots on its face are meant to evoke a skull, in a similar fashion to the the poisoned apple in Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I chose to make this a Unovan line because Disney's Snow White is an American film, and Pokéstar studios is a thing.

Abilities: Poison Touch / Oblivious | Stench
Stats: 52 HP / 40 Atk / 48 Def / 40 SpA / 48 SpD / 62 Spe / 290 BST
Weight (kg): 7.4

New Moves: Acid, Apple Acid, Dark Pulse, Encore, Leech Seed, Poison Jab, Sludge Bomb, Toxic Spikes, Venoshock
Removed Moves: Aromatherapy, Aromatic Mist, Low Sweep, Play Nice, Play Rough, Safeguard, Sweet Scent, Triple Axel

Flavor/Design:
This Steenee is loosely inspired by the actual character of Snow White. The short leaf hair is meant to evoke Snow White's bob cut. Also Snow White's name is derived from her complexion, which fits well with Steenee's own complexion. The body/dress is meant to evoke a rotten apple core.

Abilities: Merciless / Oblivious | Malevolence
Stats: 87 HP / 50 Atk / 65 Def / 110 SpA / 100 SpD / 98 Spe / 510 BST
Weight (kg): 17.2

New Moves: Acid, Apple Acid, Dark Pulse, Encore, Leech Seed, Imprison, Mystical Fire, Poison Jab, Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Toxic Spikes, U-Turn, Venoshock, Will-O-Wisp
Removed Moves: Aromatherapy, Aromatic Mist, Low Sweep, Play Nice, Play Rough, Safeguard, Sweet Scent, Triple Axel

Flavor/Design:
"Malus" + "Tsarina"
"Mah-luh-see-nah"

Malus is a genus that includes the domesticated orchard apple, and it also sounds exactly like malice. Humorous. Maluseena, despite the inspirations for its preevos, is actually more closely inspired by Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, who I feel has a much more iconic design and personality than Snow White's the Evil Queen. I got them mixed up a lot as a kid anyway. The hair horns were largely inspired by Rita Repulsa though.

I’d like to note that we also have a custom Ability called Malevolence that boosts Dark-type moves which also belongs to an apple-related Pokémon. I think it’d be perfect for this line flavor-wise.

:cramorant: :unown-question:
Signatures Used: Beak Blast and Mind Blown
Pokémon: Cramorant-Alola
New Typing:
Flying.png
Poison.png

New Abilities: Gunk Missile*
If this Pokemon is a Cramorant-Alola or Cormoreek, it changes forme when it hits a target with Sludge Wave or Gunk Shot. It becomes Gulping Form with a Grimer-Alola in its mouth if it has more than 1/2 of its maximum HP remaining, or Gorging Form with a Mareanie in its mouth if it has 1/2 or less of its maximum HP remaining. If Cramorant gets hit in Gulping or Gorging Form, it spits the Grimer-Alola or Mareanie at its attacker, even if it has no HP remaining. The projectile deals damage equal to 1/4 of the target's maximum HP, rounded down; this damage is blocked by the Magic Guard Ability but not by a substitute. A Grimer-Alola also lowers the target's Special Defense by 1 stage, and a Mareanie Poisons the target. Cramorant will return to normal if it spits out a projectile, switches out, or Dynamaxes.
New Stats: -20 Spe, +20 Def
New Moves: Gunk Shot, Sludge, Sludge Bomb, Toxic Spikes, Beak Blast, Toxic, Poison Sting, Sludge Wave, Overheat, Flame Charge, Flame Wheel
Removed Moves: All Water type moves sans Surf and Dive, All Ice type moves
Flavor/Design: Primarily based on sea pollution and how it affects animals, Cramorant-Alola has unfortunately adapted to its polluted environment for the worse, it is almost completely covered in oil, sans for its wings and beak. It keeps its wings pristine for powered flight, while it adapted a method of hyper heating its now more pronounced beak to burn away oil from it. It still sucks at hunting though, and while trying to nab a Mareanie it may accidentally choke on a Grimer-Alola eating refuse, which it immediately spits out.

New Moves: Hyper Beam, Giga Impact, Flare Blitz, Knock Off, Flame Burst, Explosion, Flamethrower, Will O Wisp, Fire Blast, Mind Blown
Flavor/Design
: Cormoreek is now fully acclimated to the garbage, with its feathers a shade of violet, and it's wings now slightly atrophied. Cormoreek still maintains flight however, in an ingenious yet very dangerous way. It uses its massive beak to ignite the oils on its body and quite literally rocket propel itself through the sky. It's feathers and main body have grown fire resistant so it is of little harm to them, yet over exerting of this ability may end in a catastrophic explosion.

New Abilities: Slush Rush / Steadfast | Swift Swim
New Stats: Same as in Standard
New Moves: Mountain Gale, Close Combat, Ice Shard
Removed Moves: N/A
Flavor/Design: Its Beartic but with militaristic elements. Not much too it tbh. They love to fight and are extremely aggressive and listen to nothing but the commands of a Maritimaja, regardless if it is its own group's commander.

Pokémon: Maritimaja [Combination of Maritimus (Polar Bear species name) and a corruption of Major (both the constellation and the military rank)]
New Typing:

Fighting.png

New Abilities: Stamina / Steadfast | Thick Fat
New Stats: 125 HP / 140 Atk / 100 Def / 40 SpA / 105 SpD / 40 Spe
New Moves: Body Press, Curse, Gyro Ball
Removed Moves: N/A
Flavor/Design: Imagine Beartic but on all fours, and its fur resembles that of a military combat uniform, just white and light blue in coloration. It also has a small black piece of stick in its mouth at all times. It is unknown if this is a cigar because no one can get close enough to test if it is. It is extremely short tempered, but instead of living in isolation, it lives in small groups of four to five, with it being the sole Maritimaja leading a bunch of Hisuian Beartic. It is said that as Bearyic migrated to Unova, the receding global ice caps made it harder for Mariti to thrive and made social Beartic groups near unsustainable. Therefore this evolution soon became extinct.

: All Fairy and Steel type moves sans Flash Cannon, Defog, Calm mind, Light Screen, Reflect
Flavor/Design: Based on hackers, trolls, crypto bros and online scammers, Klefki-Galar live their lives menacing the folks that use the internet with promise of riches, bad looking art, hacking devices and good old fashion being mean on the internet.

New Abilities: Merciless / Infiltrator | Pickpocket
New Stats: 69 HP / 115 Atk / 101 Def / 88 SpA / 82 SpD / 94 Spe [BST: 549]
New Moves: Sucker Punch, Coil, Burning Jealousy, U-turn, Hyper Beam, Giga Impact, Toxic Spikes, Sludge Bomb
Flavor/Design: Based on NFT scams, online trolls and some inspiration from radicalized youth and hate groups. Kryptoklep has abandoned simply doing "a lil trolling", and has actively started pursuing harassing people and Pokémon both online and in real life. They run massive cryptocurrency and "NFP (Non Fungible Pokémon) scams" solely with the intent of ruining people's day. When in a foul mood however, they are known to group up and plan attacks on vulnerable Pokémon. They are on the watchlists of every major city in Galar.

Thanks for the swift reply, alephgalactus. Apologies for not getting back to it until now since this week has been exhausting in its annoyance, and I only now just dragged myself out of bed an hour ago.

All right, I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to be firm here: Double Iron Bash on a 110-Speed mon has got to go. The only way that move stays balanced is by being on something slow as molasses; that’s why just about every OM bans either it or Melmetal. First and foremost, no need to apologize. It's your and Samtendo09's Pet Mod after all and what you say goes. You've both been nothing but civil on top of that. I'd rather be told a hard "no" on something that could be broken beforehand anyway than it have somehow win and need to nerfed later because of how predictably unfun it is to play against. Hell, I honestly forgot that Double Iron Bash has that stupid flinch chance since I don't think I've still ever touched Melmetal at all yet, even in JolteMons.

In a way, I'm glad that Double Iron Bash is all that look currently unbalanced on Gosentainel, especially since that was never what Gosentainel's line was supposed to based around anyway. If replacing Double Iron Bash with Meteor Mash would be an acceptable solution without having to change anything else, then I'll just do that when I get back in an hour since I was originally going to give it Meteor Mash anyway before I was even reminded that Double Iron Bash existed by looking at the lists for the umpteenth.

****

In the meanwhile, before I might as well bring up two minor things that I was going to ask anyway:

1. I didn't see it in the rules, but I just wanted clarification on something with regards to Ultra mons: they don't have to have Beast Boost, right? I'm assuming the answer is "no" given your Carnivine that won just last slate, but I figured I would ask to be sure. Similarly, they don't have to be locked to one ability depending on the mon, correct? (I'm asking this in part out of sheer curiosity and part because I had a couple of considerations for Ultra mons, including Sandygast-Hisui initially being Sandygast-Ultra given what Kartana's realm apparently looks like, but then I decided against it due to uncertainty.)

2. I noticed a couple of potential, minor errors in the spreadsheet. Those are bound to happen though, so I just figured I would point them out in case they are actual errors:

1. The one that I'm certain is an actual error is that Junk Armor is currently attributed to Galarian Rockruff line instead of the Hoenn Sandygast line that actually has it.

2. The one that I'm less sure about is that if Signature Moves are supposed to bolded under the mons that have them, then Willow's Wail isn't bolded under Wyldeward at present.

That's it. I'll be back in an hour to fix things (or, knowing me, make them worse).

Ultra variants don’t need to have Beast Boost; they never did. It’s just a common practice to give them Beast Boost. They’re not restricted to one Ability either, just however many Abilities the original variant has. The only real restriction for Ultra variants is that all of their base stats have to be prime or semiprime.

Replacing DIB with Meteor Mash should be fine.

Remember, you have 7 votes. If you want to vote for fewer submissions, that’s fine, but I just want to remind everyone that you can vote for up to 7 different things.

Pardon the slight interruption, but I was just looking through the spreadsheet and noticed that Thoroughbolt has a BST of 510. It’s meant to be a counterpart of Mudsdale, which has 500. G-Luke, where do you want to take those extra 10 BST points away from? (Personally, I’d suggest 5 off of each defense—it’s not living any hits anyway.) Also, Klanklunk has a BST of 510 when it should have 520 to match Klinklang, so you’ve got an extra 10 BST to add to that one. Lastly, PokePoindexter, Balefly’s BST is 535; it should be 540 to match with Venoraptor’s (which came first), so you have an extra 5 to put somewhere. This technically has no bearing on the current slate, but if I didn’t bring it up as soon as I noticed, I’d forget about it.

Carry on, everyone!

Congratulations to Bloopyghost, Rasdanation, Regic Boat, transwiththeplans, PokePoindexter, StarFalcon555, The Damned, and of course the terrifyingly intelligent and stunningly attractive but still approachable alephgalactus, and special congratulations to G-Luke for a 3-for-3 win! (Unfortunately, said win came at the cost of losing his entire Ethereum wallet and an estimated $200 trillion worth of poorly-drawn images of lions.)

Congratulations for all winners indeed!

alephgalactus I hope you don’t mind adding the winners to the spreadsheet, I‘ll be busy with university things, particularly a PowerPoint presentation I have to do for April 14th, but if you have difficult time I’ll help out.

In the meanwhile, everyone, you can make commentary for the winners of the slate. After all winners be added, the part two of Not-So-Signatures will arrive.
