Sorry but I can't think of a better place for Gen III double knowledge than here.

If you start a new thread I will follow you there.
The sets are known

It's just gen 3 doubles 3v3 with no restictions.
So explosion next to gengar or an endure/protect pokemon is going to be strong as well as earthquake next to anything immune to earthquake.
Outspeed your opponent so both of your pokemon can attack it and get the KO before the target can even move is something you can do with a lot of pokemon.
Then It seems like legendaries are allowed, so just use groudon or kyogre ect, they are overpowered.

I'd like to share a Python script I wrote, I think it's really useful to have by your side when doing Tower/Palace/Arena. It calculates the odds of any sets you might face for a fixed trainer and updates this info as you give the program more information. This takes into account both Species and Item clauses, the latter of which is slightly trickier to implement. Here's how it works.

Step 1: Run FrontierAssistant.py from any command line

Step 2: It asks for the Trainer you are battling. Input Trainer name and press Enter. Then it shows this:

Code:
------------------------------------------------------
What trainer are you battling?
Omar
------------------------------------------------------
This trainer has 80 different sets,
which constitute 48140 different teams.
There are 21 alarming movesets.

First it gives some info about the Trainer and then it shows all of the sets the Trainer can have, along with the probabilities that the sets will show up somewhere in his team, in decreasing order of probability. Note that these probabilities sum to 3! The last columns contains the Speed stats, depending on the level you can set in the program. Setting this Level to 50 yields the above output and also deletes all sets >850 in all probability calculations. This first calculation might take about 5 seconds max, depending on your computer. The other calculations will take much shorter.

The exclamation sets are alarms for certain moves you can select yourself in the upper section of the code. Currently it's defined as follows for the CIGARETTE team:
Alarms = ['Sheer Cold', 'Horn Drill', 'Fissure', 'Guillotine', 'Psych Up', 'Swords Dance', 'Dragon Dance', 'Counter', 'Explosion', 'Selfdestruct']

After that, it summarizes the probabilities for each species. This is just the sum of all the sets that species can have. As you can see, Machamp appears more than twice as often on Omar's teams than Swampert, for example.

Step 3: It asks for the first Species of Pokemon you see on their team
Let's say we see a Slowbro lead, after typing Slowbro we get the following output:
Code:
------------------------------------------------------
Please enter a Pokemon you have seen.
Slowbro
------------------------------------------------------
Possible sets:
Slowbro 2 0.272293 Leftovers Modest Surf Ice Beam Calm Mind Yawn 50
Slowbro 3 0.243066 Quick Claw Quiet Surf Psychic Shadow Ball Attract 45
Slowbro 4 0.243066 Quick Claw Sassy Psychic Surf Earthquake Ice Beam 45
Slowbro 1 0.241575 Shell Bell Quiet Surf Rain Dance Headbutt Ice Punch 45
This information is also in the big table before, but it's nice to see just the sets that matter for you current matchup. As you can see, the Leftovers sets is slightly more probable than the Quick Claw or Shell Bell sets, which is caused by more Pokemon in Omar's set list having those items.

Step 4: It asks which set it actually was and updates all odds for the other two Pokemon you might see
Let's say we concluded it was the Sassy Quick Claw set. Then we just input the number 4 and press Enter:
Code:
------------------------------------------------------
Which one was it? Enter a number.
4

        SLOWBRO 0.0
As you can see, the probability of facing another Slowbro is 0 (duh), but the program also concluded that Hariyama becomes less likely than Swampert for example. Some Pokemon like Walrein 3 have 0 probability because they had Quick Claw as well. The probabilities in this second step sum to 2; they are the probabilities you will see these Pokemon either as second or as third. This is most important to know, so you can assess what to prepare for.

Step 5 and beyond: rinse and repeat!
In the example below, Kingdra was seen as the second Pokemon and it was the Lum Berry set (Kingdra 1), which was actually least likely. After that, we saw a Lapras, the Quick Claw and Lum Berry variants were excluded from the possibilities as shown.

Let me know if you are interested to have this, and maybe I can share the files somewhere?
I'm curious how it handles the case where you don't have the information to fully determine a moveset before another mon is sent in (either the opponent uses moves common to several sets or is KO'd without acting).

I haven't implemented that yet, but it will be a feature for the next version. Then there will be an option "I don't know", or something like "2 or 3" and it will update everything according to that, but of course the results will not narrow down as much as in the case you do know the set. Currently, I just pick the "most probable set" and continue with the program. But in Palace, the nice thing is that I nearly always know the set.

Team Rollout (Battle Palace)

Spr_3e_260.png

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Ice Ball
- Double Team
- Curse

Strategy
The biggest advantage of this team is fast. Attack you opponent First Pokemon with 1st, 2nd and 3rd Rollout, attack opponent Second Pokemon with 4th, and Third pokemon with 5th, that's a perfect game. Usually I end of my battle within 5-10 turns.
This team is also easy to use, I just Rollout and wait for victory. Once the Rollout started, I ignore the auto-battle system, and always use a attack move (which is Rollout).
Use a combination of Rollout and Ice Ball, so I won't auto lose to Steeix/Laparas etc.

Risk & Weakness

Only have Rollout & Ice Ball may cost some risks. But I think the speed benefits are enough to make me take such risks.
The weakness of this team is opponent‘s lead pokemon. Especially lead with a heavily special sweeper, like stamie、Lati@s.
Pokemon with Double Team、Protect will also break the Rollout chain.

This is really cool. I did think of using Rollout/Ice Ball before, but only tried it on one specific "sweeper" on the team, such as CB Kabutops, Curse/DT/DefCurl Regirock and some others. Having all three of them use a move like that and provide each other with some defensive synergy in the meantime is very original. Like you said, Protect, Evasion and status effects all prevent you from sweeping efficiently. Maybe it's worth looking into two Rollout/Ice Ballers and a third Pokemon to solve these problems to an extent? Also, Shuckle might be a candidate since it has Sturdy, Double Team + Defense Curl + Sweet Scent + Rollout ? can increase the chances of actually denting opponents.

I've been running an improved Gengar, Snorlax, Latios team in the Arena. In my opinion, it's a better version of the Lati Sandwich team. Latias can be a little too passive or weak as an attacker.

Reached 168 and still ongoing! Come watch if you want on discord.

1618764667877.png

Gengar's spread
You need 36 defence to live Nidoking's shadow ball.
4 HP for an odd substitute number
Near maximum special attack

Defensive Calculations
252+ Atk Nidoking Shadow Ball vs. 4 HP / 36 Def Gengar: 113-134 (83 - 98.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

I really feel like Gengar is an awesome lead for the Arena, precisely because it's only hit by sheer cold for ohko moves and can trade in the worst case scenario. In good situations, Gengar can sweep or take down at least 2 pokemon. Gengar has an average of 2+ koes this entire run.

Snorlax has the same spread as last time.
1618764681399.png

Snorlax (God) @ Lum Berry - Set explanation
The optimal 260 HP
4 speed to out speed opposing Snorlax/ Slow twins / Steelix
A good amount of def and SpD
Rest in attack

252+ Atk Choice Band Armaldo Rock Slide vs. 196 HP / 220 Def Snorlax: 109-129 (41.9 - 49.6%)
252+ Atk Machamp Cross Chop vs. 196 HP / 220 Def Snorlax: 200-236 (76.9 - 90.7%)
252+ SpA Latios Psychic vs. 196 HP / 76+ SpD Snorlax: 67-79 (25.7 - 30.3%)
[/SPOILER]

I like the fact that Gengar going before Snorlax can eliminate bulky waters and fighters (by tie or koing it). These two things are the most dangerous for Snorlax, which helps reduce hax.

1618764711999.png

Latios ("Soul Dew" ) @ Cheri Berry
Standard Latios set with 3 coverage moves for maximum effectiveness.

Latios is the cleaner here, instead of a sweeper. Still functions well with a CM boost.

Additional info
This team can't hit shedninja. Destiny bond on sheddy for first greta battle. What do you do if it shows up? Hope you tie with Snorlax. Good news is that it's rare. Don't think about Shadow ball. Doesn't hit hard enough without Adamant, which greatly reduces your bulk.

Lost about 10 times with this team due to shit luck with misses to random stuff like bellossom, lunatone, tauros, regice
I've done about 100 runs in the Arena by now. Only reached 100+ wins about 5 times. Although, if you eliminate my previous experimentation attempts, reaching 100+ wins with a good team has about a 10% chance due to hax. Most runs lose after Gold.

Difficult matchups
Lapras/Haxrein/dewgong. Sub first to get an idea of what set it could be. If it doesn't show sheer cold, it's probably safe to go for the 2 hit ko.
Rock Slide/Rock Tomb Rhydon
Metagross- If it QC's or gets an attack raise, you can easily lose
QC armaldo
Shedninja lol

Will update this when I lose or think about other useful information.

Edit: LMFAO. I'm never reaching 200. I lost @ 178 to Swimmer Elaine with Slowking (used destiny bond), Starmie and CB Granbull. Snorlax was chipped and got koed by banded mega kick. Latios couldn't ko with psychic and lost.

Edit: I started using magnet and it was really nice as a item. Guaranteed ko on bulky gyarados, 0 hp starmie, helps 2koes on bulky stuff,

Thanks to Actaeon for helping me with the probabilities and watching the streak.

I'd like to post a few more hints I came up with on using the team; I learned some of these the 'hard way' during the road to 301 with my team; the analysis wtset posted is slightly outdated, i.e. for the Anabel fight. Good luck to those wanting to test out the team; it's quite solid as some viewers on Discord have already seen.
  • Against most opponents, especially if they outspeed Suicune, use Thunder Wave first and then start Sand-Attacking. Also if they don't outspeed, Sand-Attack + Thunder Wave gives better odds of them not being able to use anything than using Sand-Attack twice. If Stantler gets below half and consumes its Sitrus Berry, you can use Thief in the cases of Quick Claw, or if they have Leftovers and have a really bad typing for Suicune to destroy even at +6 like Ludicolo (more on Ludicolo below). If you still live after using Thief, proceed by using Sand-Attack or even Thunder Wave if they're at -6 already and if they still have a move that could cripple Suicune, even if it's risking a burn from Flamethrower, for example.
  • Against some Fighting-types and/or Guts Pokemon it's better to use Sand-Attack first, such as Machamp, Ursaring and Heracross. Stantler survives a non-crit Cross Chop and with -1 Accuracy, chances are it won't even hit the first or second Cross Chop. If they're at -2 or -3 accuracy, it's safe to use Thunder Wave even if it lets them break Suicune's substitute in one hit; they'll quickly have PP issues and will miss a Substitute eventually. Use Thief if you see a Quick Claw set and get the chance to use it; Suicune doesn't want to eat critical hit Cross Chops.
  • It might be tempting to use Skill Swap against Flash Fire Pokemon, but most of them have second abilities; use Twave and Sand-Attack as usual, although non-Double Edge Flareon can't touch Stantler if you get Flash Fire.
  • Use Skill Swap against Vaporeon, Quagsire, Lapras, Flygon and Jolteon before crippling them any further.
  • Use Thunder Wave against Espeon, Sceptile and Starmie like you would against any other fast lead; Sitrus Berry avoids getting 2HKOed over 87% of the time so you can waste their Lum Berry and paralyze them after (in case you get unlucky with paralysis against Synchronize Espeon or Leaf Blade crits from Sceptile, there's always Endure + Icy Wind Delibird to the rescue).
  • Against Natural Cure Pokemon (i.e. Altaria, Blissey and Starmie) it's a good idea to use Skill Swap after you paralyze them, because they might switch out otherwise. The Accuracy drop isn't really necessary against them anyway.
  • Some Perish Song users surprisingly lose to Delibird because of Vital Spirit; switch in Delibird after you Thunder Wave them (and if you see Perish Song), then switch back to Stantler when they use Mean Look and paralyse the next Pokemon as well. There's other ways to deal with this if you wish.
Special cases and big threats so far:
  • Ludicolo-593 and Ludicolo-689 have Double Team, Leech Seed, Rain Dance and either Toxic or Leech Seed. This means Suicune might waste all of its PP trying to crash them down with Surf, which is a losing scenario. Not realising the threat at first, it resulted in a battle that didn't fit on my frontier pass, but eventually I won it. Strategy on lead: don't use Thunder Wave with Stantler but instead use Sand-Attack and possibly Skill Swap. If Stantler gets below half, try to steal its Leftovers before stalling out the rest of its moves with Suicune. Waste as few PPs as possible by switching to Delibird on turns Ludicolo wastes Double Teams, for example. Then when it has +6 evasion and is using Struggle with imperfect accuracy at -1 Attack, use Toxic with Delibird. It only has a 0.5% chance of missing all 16 Toxics, lol. Even in that scenario, you could steal Leftovers and beat Ludicolo with +6 Surfs with good probability to have Surf PP left. Note that Delibird can only steal after it gets to 25% health itself.
  • The same strategy applies to the Double Team Leftovers annoy Suicune. Also use Skill Swap if you can, since that more or less guarantees hitting Toxic eventually.
  • Houndoom-523 has Lum with Modest Nature and Fire Blast + Crunch + Roar + Rest, outspeeding Suicune. You'd be tempted to use Sand-Attack instead of Thunder Wave because Houndoom 2HKOes Stantler despite Lum Berry (something not many Pokemon can do), but the good thing here is that all other Houndoom sets are beaten by using Thunder Wave, and even this particular one doesn't use Fire Blast against Suicune (it favors Crunch). So usually Suicune can safely set up a Calm Mind, making its Substitute unbreakable. This is all OK unless you get crit on the first Crunch I think. Note that Intimidate scouts the White Herb sets.
  • Metagross is an interesting lead, because what do you choose between Skill Swap and Thunder Wave on turn 1? Also, it's a Thief candidate. But Stantler hasn't got the time for all of this because it gets 2HKOed by Meteor Mash. I usually lead off with Thunder Wave, scouting out the Lum Berry set as well (which isn't dangerous). Thunder Wave always helps, even if it has Quick Claw or crits through Stantler. Then if it uses Meteor Mash (all other moves give away more of the set and don't often 2HKO Stantler), I usually use Thief if there's still a possibility of Quick Claw. Then if I have time left, Skill Swap + Sand-Attack or even Skill Swap + sack Delibird + Intimidate + Sand-Attack are viable roads to a good setup probability. Gogogo, 2-turn Growl. In any scenario, play very conservatively and un-greedy with Suicune; Protect every other turn and keep your health as high as possible while Metagross wastes PP. In other words, enter the "protect even if you have a free-move Sub up"-mode. Did I mention already that this Suicune Substitute survives a 170+ EQ about 2/3 of the time? That's exactly the reason I couldn't make Suicune faster than it currently is (although it would REALLY be nice to outspeed more Heracross sets).
  • Snorlax: use Sand-Attack instead of Thunder Wave. And Thief when you can, of course.
Most recent Anabel strategy:
  • Outstall Raikou, carefully keep track when it runs out of Thunderbolt PP because that's when you stop wasting Suicune PP as well. Switch back and forth with Delibird. Oh yeah, be sure to Skill Swap Pressure if you get the chance, before Stantler faints. And don't forget to count two Thunderbolts when used against Pressure Stantler.
  • When it runs out of Rest, use Toxic with Delibird regardless of what I said in the original post. You don't need to get to +6, that's why.
  • Calm Mind up alongside Latios, while stalling out its attacking PP with Protect and Substitute. Don't ever use Surf before it's out of Recover.
  • It will use all of its Recover PP before grinding down its Calm Mind PP; that's when you start using Surf and ~9HKO the Latios unless you crit somewhere. Brightpowder is scary; be sure to keep Surf PP as high as possible.
  • 2HKO Snorlax with Surf (it'll only use Return or Curse on its first turn).

Introducing "Team Stall Azure"! I'll call this Team Saffron. It has the classic Dragon/water/steel core which is amazing defensively. This team is inspired by Thomaz's team and Actaeon's Christmas team. Reached 168 wins and ongoing.

Latias (F) @ Lum Berry
Timid Nature
EVs: 236 HP / 4 Def / 48 SpD / 220 Speed
Ability: Levitate

-Charm
- Roar
-Thunder Wave
- Recover

Defensive Calculation
252+ SpA Starmie Ice Beam vs. 236 HP / 48 SpD Latias: 78-92 (42.1 - 49.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

This Latias has amazing bulk. 32 PP recover is absolutely bonkers. You can basically stall out things by spamming recover.

Steelix (M) @ Chesto Berry
EVs: 246 HP / 20 Def / 244 SpD
Ability: Sturdy
Calm Nature
- Torment
- Protect
- Toxic
- Rest

This is Thomaz's Steelix set. I'm still not a huge fan of steelix (given the low special defence), but the electric/poison immunity and 9 resistances come in real handy. Steelix is easily the 2nd or 3rd best steel type of this generation. I really love the synergy of Steelix/ Latias. Makes swap stalling very easy. Steelix's weaknesses are covered by the rest of the team.

I have toxic instead of roar here for water absorb users.

Defensive Calculations

255+ SpA Starmie Surf vs. 244 HP / 244+ SpD Steelix: 142-168 (78.4 - 92.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 140 HP / 156 Def / 212 Spe
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Protect
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Surf

This is Actaeon's Suicune set from the Christmas challenge and the star of the team. Faster than most Latios (including Anabel's Latios) and lives Metagross's EQ 2/3 of the time. Sub, protect makes this an amazing staller (provided you don't accidentally get statused).

Additional Threats (Read above from Actaeon's list)
Ingrain Double team Vileplume- Suicune wins with a 97% probability, but there's a good chance you waste a ton of pp like I did.

Suicune wins in 9759 of the 10000 cases. 0.95 confidence interval: 0.973 0.979 Suicune runs out of Surf in 241 of the 10000 cases. 0.95 confidence interval: 0.021 0.027

Water absorbers (especially QC ones like Quagsire)
Strong special attackers like Latios/Zam which have a lot of PP. Can be stalled with torment and protect and t-wave support. But in the worst case scenario, you might be at low hp.
Walrein/dewgong. Roar or t-wave, depending on the situation.
Double team Suicune

How to
Paralyze faster threats if you run into fast special attackers and spam sub/protect with torment mixed in.
Be careful with surf power points.
If it's double teammers, roar them out once they run out of PP.
Be very careful with status. You can't hard switch into something like Tentacruel for instance (which can sludge bomb or toxic).

Anabel Strategy
You easily stall out Anabel's Raikou by switch stalling between Latias and Steelix.
Toxic Raikou
Use Substitute, protect on Anabel's Latios. Toxic with Steelix when it runs of attacks
Surf the Snorlax

Interesting matches. Ran into belly drum snorlax twice. I usually click charm in these cases. I still won because Sub, protect Suicune and Steelix easily outstalls the attacks.
QC Breloom was very annoying. Crit Latias and had to hit surf through double team.

Maybe this has been talked about but I tried searching the thread and couldn't find anything.
In the past I have brushed off this little bit of information as maybe poorly written since it was from a very old site (ultimate pokemon center) and it wouldn't change that much. But as our understanding of the frontier advances, I had to know for sure so we can squeeze out every percentage. Basically it suggests here that 20% of the trainers you see at the highest tier of play in the post 50 battles actually only have 21 ivs. Turns out that is true! I did speed tests and found many examples (milotic, blastiose, shiftry), even seeing the exact same set having different stats based on the trainer. Then I also did seismic toss hp tests to verify again. Anyways here is video proof:

These trainers also have a single set for each species, so they already were easier to face. But this kinda means that there are additional versions of all of their pokemon. Ones with 21 ivs and ones with 31 ivs
I believe this means that when Adedede faced the early trainers again at battle 1793 it means they in fact did not have 31 ivs.

A few streaks to report on emulator.

Battle Factory (level 50) - 42 wins (active streak)
Haven't gone back since getting gold the other day. Biggest scare of the run was in round 5 - misplayed and almost got outstalled by the opponent's second entrant, a Substitute-carrying Blissey. Managed to take her sub down just in time for my last remaining pokemon - a CB Slaking - to come in and thankfully get the KO with Brick Break. Then I had to pray that whatever came in couldn't finish off Slaking and would be vulnerable to Brick Break. Breathed a sigh of relief as it turned out to be about the best possible option for me - poor Porygon2, which Traced Truant and missed its first turn (and never got a second). Realized with hindsight that I should have known it would be a Normal-type coming out, although it could have been Normal/Flying or something which could still have been trouble.
Round 6 was anticlimactic. Got offered Aerodactyl-4 and Mr. Mime-4 as my elevations and kept them the whole round, picking up a Vaporeon along the way. Never ran into anything as scary as that Blissey, though believe I did see Dewgong twice and Lapras once - thankfully, all the OHKOs missed for once. Mr. Mime was the MVP, taking down a slew of bulky Water-types with Thunderbolt. Noland wound up with awful type matchups against me (carrying Blastoise, Flareon, and a TrickBand Mr. Mime of his own - apparently Noland can violate species clause?) and was taken down easily.

Battle Palace (open) - 42 wins (active streak)
With a mind mostly toward Spencer's Suicune, I'm in the midst of a streak running Metagross/Zapdos/Milotic, as I didn't have the gold symbol yet when I started.

A Hasty Metagross with 3 Attacks and Protect probably doesn't need much explanation. Running max attack and speed.

Zapdos is also Hasty but with Substitute. I originally planned to switch to Protect, but since Substitute is annoying to get back I thought I'd try it out and see how well it did. I was pretty blown away by how effective it was. For whatever reason, Zapdos really seemed to like to put up a Sub before starting to attack, and enemies often didn't use the right moves to destroy it, and Brightpowder even came up clutch a couple times to keep it intact. I would have probably tried out Raikou in this spot, but I don't have one with the right nature.

Milotic wasn't specifically intended for the Palace, but it worked well to outstall most things if my offensive threats fell.

https://pokepast.es/1071c0999e614f9d

Spencer went about as smoothly as I could ask, despite a major mistake on my part. I swapped to Milotic right away for Arcanine, and immediately landed Toxic on it. Extremespeed didn't do particularly threatening damage, and she even threw in a Surf to finish it off. I miscalculated on Slaking, forgetting that it would actually slack off on the first turn it was out, and I brought out Metagross, who wound up going down to a Shadow Ball before being able to do anything. Zapdos came out and immediately put up a Substitute, which stayed intact while wearing Slaking down. Spencer's Suicune never opted for Calm Mind, and Zapdos just kept focusing on Substitute, throwing a few attacks in here and there - for some reason going with Hidden Power multiple times before finally finishing Suicune off with a Thunderbolt.

Battle Arena (open) - 63 wins
Decided to run OHKO Articuno just to see how far it would go, and was pleasantly surprised when it pushed through Greta gold and beyond.

The team is Articuno/Swampert/Tauros, shamelessly lifted from an old thread I stumbled across on another forum some years back and never got around to trying out.

https://pokepast.es/66dd7ef2eb01bb10

Streak ended to a taste of my own medicine. A turn 1 OHKO dropped Articuno and although I brought it to the opponent's third pokemon, Tauros was locked into Return and the opponent sent out Misdreavus.

Got to 115 with an improved version of "Cigarette" in Palace this evening. I lost due to two blunders against Donphan: one was a simple misclick while talking/streaming which made me lose Suicune, and the other one was midjudging EQ critical hit damage because Donphan acquired an Ancientpower boost. In the end, I lose because of 2 EQ critical hits and Salamence hitting itself twice in confusion, so I never saw the remaning Pokemon. Worst losing experience ever, I can't even explain how mad I am at the moment. Here is the team, and I'm pretty sure it'll break records if I don't make these INSANE misplays the next time:

It seems that no one posted a similar team, so I will share one.

Swampert @ Leftovers

EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe

Just curious, what would be the plan against strong special attackers like Sceptile, Alakazam, Mr. Mime and Espeon?

Howdy

I think that Slaking is a top tier Pokemon in the gen 3 Frontier, but even with extensive knowledge of the different opponent Pokemon and their sets, it can still be hard to remember all the ranges for one specific Pokemon, especially when there is a plethora of different sets that require you to use a different move to pick up the OHKO. This is especially true for Slaking where the difference between picking up a KO is life and death in most facilities. Slaking depends on being able to pick up OHKOs or being able to know when it can't and fall back onto the rest of your team.

I made this document outlining every single match-up that Slaking might not be able to pick up the KO. It includes every Pokemon that isn't just knocked out by the move that you'd most expect to use against the opponent. This means the safest option, for example you'd expect to want to use EQ on a fire type and Shadow Ball on a Psychic type. This document assumes you're running Adamant Choice Band Return, Hyper Beam, Earthquake, and Shadow Ball Slaking. I know that you might run Double-Edge or Brick Break on other sets, especially for open level, but this is the most common set I use.

Set in question: https://pokepast.es/a0428909435368be

The document outlines all the ranges on the different sets a Pokemon might have, even if only one set isn't killed by what is the expected move to be using. Latios for example has 8 possible sets, two of which require Hyper Beam to pick up the KO, but all sets are listed nonetheless despite being KO'd by Shadow Ball. Another example being Marowak, with only one set that lives Return. As well the document shows the opponent Pokemon, best option for attack, % chance for that move to OHKO, the actual damage in %, the best alternate/second best move, the damage for that move, and any additional info that may be useful, like intimidate.

There isn't necessarily an order to the listing of the Pokemon, besides each set being consecutive, aside from the various Frontier Brain sets, which are listed at the end. To reiterate, any Pokemon that does not have single set that isn't OHKO'd by the best option of move from Slaking is not listed. Example being a Pokemon like Jynx, which as all four of its sets being OHKO'd by both Return and Shadow Ball, objectively better options over Hyper Beam due to the accuracy difference.

Check it out, let me know if I missed any Pokemon or if anything stands out as wrong or hard to interpret. Cheers.

Update: I've reached 462 in the Tower! Finally broke my record. Coming for you wtset!

Things to add
QC Metagross is still a huge threat even with Steelix and Suicune. It's also a threat to randomly explode, so Steelix is usually the first switch in.
I've only come close to running out of surf PP once (Articuno, Moltres and double team Suicune AI team)
Lead Quagsire is not dangerous at all (much preferred to 2nd or 3rd slot)
Steelix with sturdy and torment actually really helps makes some pokemon completely free (Seaking, Pinsir, QC Nidoking & QC Water Absorb LAPRAS)
Faster Grounds like Lead Flygon and Dugtrio are very annoying to deal with. Flygon is much more annoying as a lead than when it comes in on Suicune with boosts (slow sub/protect stall out EQ and then attack). Dugtrio is a threat with double edge (koes itself or fissures Suicune).

Steelix also makes an excellent pivot. Can switch into double-edge to limit recoil from birds and baits out EQ from Ursaring instead of double-edge (for a relatively safe switch to suicune after a charm).

Ex: Pivot on QC Donphan after charm from Latias and stall until it starts to struggle.

Other pivoting situations: Pivot in Steelix on T-wave/sludgebomb/toxic and then switch in Suicune to avoid status. AI recognizes that this doesn't affect Steelix, so they will not use a status move there.

Rhydon remains a threat. Obviously threatens the QC koes on Latias with Megahorn or Horn-drill. Unfortunately, this Latias needs special defence investment, so this calc can't be helped.

252+ Atk Rhydon Megahorn vs. 236 HP / 4 Def Latias: 164-194 (88.6 - 104.8%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO

I also noticed that ThrownAway ran this exact team (with different sets) as well. Shout out to you my guy. I definitely prefer level 50 as Tyranitar doesn't exist (thus you don't need rain dance).

https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/542816369 - unfortunately this video is super laggy. I apologize.

I'm just dropping in for the first time in ages as I decided to skim through the last few pages of the thread - it's been great to see so much activity in such an old game, and I think that speaks to the quality and replayability of the older facilities, which has been sorely lacking in recent games. I also like the changes to the leaderboards, such as splitting them into Level 50 and Open Level, as the differences can be quite significant. Reading this thread just makes me wish I had infinite time so I could come back to Emerald and attempt serious streaks with better mons, considering that mine were done with a very suboptimal Latios nature and IVs.

Also, just a random general tip for anyone hoping to improve in battle facilities: While it's optimal and very helpful to have as much information as possible about the probabilities involved in each battle (e.g. what sets you might face, chance of hax etc), there's still a kind of 'intuition' required to consistently win battles that involve unfamiliar situations. That kind of intuition only really comes from a great amount of experience and repetition, so newer players must be patient and realise that each failure contributes to one's sense of how to win consistently.

Just curious, what would be the plan against strong special attackers like Sceptile, Alakazam, Mr. Mime and Espeon?
I‘ll go straight.
Because it's not worth for switching even by facing a Alakazam/Mr.mime(which might be an ice pucher.etc), taking a free psychic is much more serious. I want all my three to be at full health so they can use more rollout(but if water type, that’s another story).
And remember? The modest nature only has a 35% chance to use an Attack move, 12% chance in a row.

What's up guys, I made this account years ago, and I'm finally making my first post now to report 37 wins at the Battle Factory.
I was recording the run and hoping to get the Gold Symbol, but lost at battle #38 due to getting a bad team lineup.
During the run, I would relentlessly check Hozu's Frontier max stat database before making a move. This helped at lot in comparison to my previous runs, and I'd highly recommend it.
I was playing on MyBoy! emulator for Android; here's a video if anyone's interested:

You'll notice that this is a Russian translation of the game. Unfortunately, whoever was working on this translation didn't finish it, so there's still a lot of English text randomly thrown in there. Other than the Cyrillic characters, this is identical to the English version of the game.
I've managed to get all the Silver Symbols by using a crappy version of Werster's team (Latios and Swampert weren't RNG'd), but I'll wait to post on those until I can get better numbers. I have videos of the Frontier Brain fights on my YouTube channel, if anyone's interested. Hopefully my next post will include a Gold Symbol!

QC Metagross is still a huge threat even with Steelix and Suicune. QC crit Psychic almost made me lose, but I pulled it out.
I've only come close to running out of surf PP once (Articuno, Moltres and double team Suicune AI team)
Lead Quagsire is not dangerous at all (much preferred to 2nd or 3rd slot)
Steelix with sturdy and torment actually really helps makes some pokemon completely free (Seaking, Pinsir, QC Nidoking). Along with the fact that it completely dominates electric types and provides an incredibly useful poison and t-wave immunity. These two attributes make getting Suicune in without getting statused very easy.

Update: I lost at 636 to QC Golem using Explosion and Lum Heracross. I'll add the replay of this loss. I misplayed a bit not using protect more and risked a couple of double protects. Anyways, proud of this team. Thank you to everyone who watched!

Earned 30k Battle points. Pretty insane.

What about bulky water types who can still take more than 2 or 3 rollouts? Since this team relies on consecutive chains landing successfully 90% accurate moves, how would you solve this issue? What are the possibilities that you'll land all of the hits you need? Take into account that Pokemon like Vaporeon, Suicune and Milotic can cream this team due to the lack of a Water resist and these usually pack Ice moves to kill Salamence. Miltank has no SpD investment and Swampert can't touch them. Additionally, what's the plan with Double Teamers considering that if luck is not in your favor, these Pokemon can get out of control? Confusion? Attract? Poison?

Additionally, how do you actually beat Spencer's Silver team with this team?

I noticed that my record wasn't added to the OP. Was this a mistake? Is there anything I need to add to my post?

Hello, I decided not to add this streak to the leader-board since it was done on an unofficial ROM. Considering that Russian was not ever released as an official language for Pokemon, there's no guarantee that whoever made the translation has not modified anything from the original ROM, even if the only changes are the characters used on the game. Emerald uses a single PRNG to handle every process on the game, so there's a valid risk. You're more than welcome to make another submission using an English ROM instead (please don't request links in here as it goes against the forum rules). Considering that this was never covered on the OP's rules, I'll update the thread with a small disclaimer regarding fan translations or modified ROMs.

Additionally, this goes for everyone else. Please don't fill the thread with posts as to why your streak have not being added yet. I have been busy more than usual and if you still don't see your streak it's due to one of the following reasons:

  • I have been busy and I haven't had enough time to update the leaderboard.
  • I do not trust your streak and I reserve myself the right to ask any questions in order to prove the legitimacy of it. If I'm not convinced by your answers, I'll not add it.
  • You missed out some of the proof requirements on the streak to be leaderboard eligible.
  • You used Pokemon that breaks the leaderboard rules such as hacked pokemon, illegal moves, etc.

If by any chance you see your streak not added yet after a long period of time (more than a week) and you haven't received a reply from me yet, then you're more than welcome to send me a private message so I can take a look into it. Other than that, please be patient since the only spare time I have is when I'm out of my work schedule.

Hm... okay. That's disappointing, but understandable. I originally started playing on this ROM to help me master the language, and I don't feel like putting in the effort to start all over again on another game. If I ever do, however, I'll post it here.
