I was wondering about Guts and Facade. Do they stack? as in if Ursaring gets poisoned, will it power up guts and facade? Combining them to outrageous levels?

i am going to put it short:

facade got 70 power, with STAB it goes to 105, double because of a status and reach 210, power up with guts for a 50% atack boost, yes they stack up.

And for outrunning slower Magnezones...

Say...how do HO teams work? Must all Pokemon (but the lead) be physical stat-uppers, or one can hold special stat-uppers and Choice users as well?
There is no such thing as a slow magnezone in relation to scizors and other steels.

You can do special HO, but choice users are generally frowned upon in HO. Maybe one revenge killer but that is absolutely it.

Why should Choice items not be used on a HO team?

HO teams are suppose to keep a offensive heat going, so they use stuff like life orb instead, a poke like mence setting up DD on a choiced pokemon will destroy the entire HO team, that is why the only thing you should ever use in a HO team is a scarfed revenge killer like flygon or jirachi for pokemons like latias or a gyara that somehow setup a DD.

Because something that resists them could set up, heavy offense usually have nothing to stop pokes that have set up, and it causes them to lose the momentum they so desperatly crave
Bah, ninja'ed. By Lucaliber no less.

Can I use both physical and special set-uppers on a HO team?

whynot? has long you can kill bliss a special sweeper like NP/agility porygon-Z can work fine(that was just a example), in fact i reccomend you use a special sweeper for physical walls like hippo and skarm. though i would use a mixed sweeper instead, its pretty much pick your poison.

You can, but it defeats the point of HO. The point of HO is to have all of your pokemon walled by the same thing so you can sacrifice maybe one or two of your pokemon to eliminate that one counter, set up with another mon and sweep the defenseless opponent. Splitting physical and special generally doesnt keep the counters to your pokemon the same, and is probably not that good of an idea. Maybe run NPMixape if your special HO team is having problems?

And to the person that asked, there are definitely other offensive teams other than HO. Here they are:

Hyper Offense: An entire team of frail powerful pokemon. Holds massive power but if the opponent lands 6 attacks on your team, it is over. I don't know too much about this.

Bulky Offense: The best form of offense by far in my opinion. This usually consists of all around good pokemon that cover each other's weaknesses well, can take blows, and still pack a punch. Generally these teams have both physical and special attackers, it is usually a good idea to have two of both at least.
Generally one or two set up sweepers are used on bulky offense, the most common being DD Gyarados or DD Salamence to eventually bring about crises and possibly sweep. You could also utilize a late game sweeper in conjunction with the above such as SubPetaya Empoleon and SD Lucario. Building your team around certain pokemon generally tends to lend itself to Bulky offense or stall.

At the moment, my team is going to end up with an Arcanine, Feraligatr, Dragonite, Gallade, and Mismagius. I'm not trying to make this a competitive team (at least not yet), just running through SS and trying to find a good 6th poke to add. Considering the stats of the 5 I have so far, I'd say a poke stressing high SpAtk would be the best choice, but a well-rounded one couldn't hurt either I guess. With the knowledge of the people in this thread, I figured it wouldn't be that hard to answer, but I apologize if there's some other place this should have gone (since I'm not using it for competitive, I didn't think it belonged in the team rating forum).

Tailwind and Gravity aren't canceled out by other field affects like weather and TR, are they? Making a Tailwind team and am making sure I don't miss anything important....

Try Raikou in slot 6.

How can I finish Pokemon Pearl faster?
This depends greatly on which, and how many Pokemon you use. You can check out the Platinum in game tiers here. I find that fewer Pokemon are generally better; two or three seems to be optimal. I recommend using Piplup and Staraptor. Chimchar is another good starter option, though he overlaps with Starly. This should get you through the gyms pretty easily. If you need a bit of oomph later on, use Azelf or Palkia. Make use of healing items. Don't avoid trainers (except for fishermen), avoid wild Pokemon.
If you want to go more in-depth, I recommend checking out that thread I linked for you. Additionally, if you have access to traded Pokemon, you can bring in a high level Pokemon after your gym badges allow, and have it run the game for you.

As a personal rule I try to avoid using legendaries; sorry for not including that earlier. Raikou would indeed make a good 6th, though.

Jolteon looks like a good choice; I wish it had a different ability though, volt absorb seems only useful in double battles. Its Def is fairly low, too; I'm debating breeding for a relaxed nature (a small drop in speed probably won't be too harmful) or a bold nature. Any advice on move choices, though? It won't learn discharge until really late, and most of its other moves it learns by leveling are pretty weak or physical in nature, which doesn't lend well to a special powerhouse.

timid, modest, hasty or mild, it dont matter if its in-game or not, jolt should never be used with any other nature besides those 4(or the neutral natures)
