OK, so this is too long in coming. Let me just say the following:

There can be no apology for my general absence the last month. Although I may have been placing too much pressure on myself in trying to alter the game on a weekly basis, I've also neglected my duties here.

To that end, I would like to establish a more formal structure in the game's hierarchy. One person simply cannot keep up with everything.

Consider me like the Game Master of this Forum. I have final veto power over any policy change that would significantly alter the game. I have specific purposes for the duration and energy costs of each moves, so while I am amenable to changing those or correcting errors in the actual move or ability texts, specific moves and abilities are not up for general discussion.

That being said, I think the players are the best people to determine a lot of the other elements of the game.

To that end I want to establish a formal CAB ASB Policy Committee.

I need the following positions filled:

Secretary:

This person is responsible for posting a game update thread like the State of the Game last month. I will leave it up to committee members to decide how often this should be. ASB is supposed to be dynamic and responsive to player concerns. This person is charged with handling updates on policy changes from the last thread and asking new questions regarding the game. There will be two secretary positions in order to cover if one cannot.

Head Team Approver:

This person is responsible for paying out the checks for approving Pokemon and Prizes. They should be well versed in how to approve new teams and how to format. They will also have the power to institute new Approval Staff. I would like this person to be one of our existing approval staff initially.

Head Referee:

This person is responsible for managing referee compensation and keeping abreast of any reffing issues. They will also have the power to promote referrees and reward them in a more meaningful way than the base we have now. When applying please offer at least five examples of battles you have reffed and explain your general reffing style.

Standing Committee Members:

Standing Committee Members must be actively engaged in both battling and reffing. I will need links to 3 battles and 3 reffings. This is to ensure that any policy decisions made will include the perspective both of people battling and people who are reffing matches. Refs have much, much greater responsibility than battlers, and any rules change or moves change impacts them the most. There will be seven such positions, which will be put on rotation on a regular basis not yet decided. The only difference between a standing Committee Member and a regular user is that SCMs get to vote on any changes proposed in a State of the Game.

Please apply for the following:

Secretary:
Requirements: Three writing samples from battles, with at least two being ref posts. Links to two of your favorite battles where you are not a participant or ref.

Head Team Approver:
Requirements: Links to five approval posts, preferably spread out over time.

Head Referee:
Requirements: Links to five matches you have reffed and a paragraph explaining your general reffing style.

Standing Committee Members:
Requirements: Links to three battles and three matches you have reffed.

In total, 11 Positions are available and will make up the committee. I will not vote, but I will exercise veto power on any proposal beforehand, e.g. I set the slate of votes and the committee members vote on them.

I'd like to sign up for the Head Referee position.

Here are five matches that I have reffed:

Alchemator vs HD
zarator vs Frosty
LupusAter vs Cartoons!
Ducklett Stare vs ginganinja
iiMKUltra vs Objection

Just picked out some of my favorite ones. Anyway, my general reffing style is honestly kinda random. Whatever I feel like putting down, it'll be down, unless I start getting lazy and the round just drags on (like from repeated moves). Sometimes I try to make it a story, but otherwise it's a pretty much standard reffing procedure where the ref (me) will just describe how the moves play out in the round while sometimes messing around with the arena's features. I will still be getting down the orders of the battlers with it (which I will put in bold, and any events that occur throughout the round). I'll get some adjectives rolling, use lots of exclamation marks because the match is so exciting (unless it's not), use the Pokemon's name (or nickname), put my calculations down, announce which player goes next, have reference, my received orders, and data in my updates (important information to everyone outside, important reference to ref inside of hide tags unless it's doubles and triples, then it gets messy), and have Team Preview within the first post with the quotes of the two (or more) battlers agreeing to battle together, as well as the order of which me and the players will post. I'd also like to say that I'm prone to change and will adjust to change to better suit my, and my players's, needs. Ultimately, I ref to make this experience as fun and fair as possible for my battlers, unless hax is involved.

I'd like to sign up as one of the Standing Committee Members as well, since I'm actively reffing and battling.

Reffings (picking out different ones from before)
Wyverii vs GoldenKnight
Axaj vs MapleSandwich
IceBug vs Darkamber8828

edit: if interested, here's my full listing of reffings here

This isn't an existing position, but I'm going to reccomend it. I want to be someone who helps with the role-playing part of ASB. There are a ton of cool ideas in the thread and I would like to make those ideas a reality. I also like the idea of monthly tournaments so if I could maybe run those. If have some ideas for tourneys and how we can make them work. So if this is a good role, perhaps I could be in charge of it.

I'm also applying for Standing Committee Member

IceBug vs RitterCat
-Charmander- vs doominc77

I am a really active member and I am also on #CAPASB quite often. I am really interested in helping improve CAP ASB and hopefully we can make this a much larger, and better operation.

Applying for Standard Committee Member

Here's a full list of the matches I reffed so far:

Giganinja vs Athenorodos
HD vs Limewire
Smashlloyd20 vs Son of Shadoo
Dogfish vs Venser
Lord Jesseus vs Timmetmannetje
Giganinja vs Son of Shadoo
Athenorodos vs Doran Dragon (subreffed)
Cartoons vs Ducklett Stare
Alchemator vs Cartoons (subreffed)
Energy Storm vs Wyverii
Doominic77 vs Temperantia
Lord Jesseus vs Orkonaut
Alchemator vs Dogfish
Lord Jesseus vs Danmantican
Athenorodos vs Engineer Pikachu
HD vs Limewire (again)

I don't think any member can outdo this list, and people can attest for the swiftness of my reffings (which, in my opinion, is the most important quality of referees overall - not to say that good writing style isn't important as well, though). As far as style goes, I have evolved it over time, partly by decisions of mine, partly taking input from some good reffers (Wyverii in particular). I generally start by listing the stats of the Pokémon involved, with the sprites of each one to help the reader understand what's going on. As far as the actual reffing goes, generally I opt for for a standard 3 paragraph division, with the moves (or actions taken, or notable secondary effects like CH and status) in bold to help people "fast-reading" the entire text if needed. I try as much as I can to make the reffed text interesting enough to be read - just like you would read a warstory. Sometimes the battle, or the arena, inspire me to go even more far. Most times, though, I opt for a good balance between efficiency and flavor (with proper caution, though - since I'm not motherlanguage english, I try to be careful about how I write and not going too wild). After the reffing, I close the post with the final stats of the contenders (with updated HP/energy standings), and, inspired by Wyverii, I started to include calculations too in order to make the reffing more fair.
Overall, as far as controversial decisions go, I try to adhere to the ruleset as much as I can. Unless the circumstances definitely warrant it, I'm generaly wary about bizarre actions issued or overly long "if-else conditions". Usually I look for advice among the referees I think are most skilled, which in my opinion is a good thing, because it helps everyone to be on the same page.

I'd also like to candidate myself for Head Referee position. Flora would be a perfectly good choice, but I think I would cover it well, too. I've been reffing since the beginning of ASB, and I've gained enough experience to perform that job.

Also, battles I played so far:

vs Rediamond
vs Shuckles my hero
vs Lord Jesseus
vs Temperantia (in progress)
vs Alchemator (in progress)
vs Rediamond (again)
vs Frosty

EDIT2: After some thought, I decided to withdraw my (secondary) candidation for being Secretary. I will run only for Head Referee and Standard Committee member.

I'm a very active member, and often am in #capasb. I think that with the no. of matches I've been involved in, I have the experience to vote on changes proposed in a State of the Game. I have an eye for finding broken/odd mechanics(exhibit A: Melee Battles, exhibit B: Triple Battles), so I feel I would have a greater chance to find problems in the game, and can make informed decisions on them.

My style of reffing is to get down to the basics, because half the time hat's what the players want. However, I can also weave some flavour into this, as a few of my reffings will show. It is basically oriented towards helping players play their matches quickly(because a fair few of my reffings are subreffings). Due to this, I am very much aware of issues with reffing such as inactivity etc., and feel I am well equipped for this role.

I'll apply to be a part of the standing committee. All my matches, as ref or battler, can be found here, but the most recent are:

As the audience watches with beating hearts, Kannon removes a shining blue Pokeball from his belt. With a little smirk on his face, he looks up at the at the roof of the dark, murky cave and suddenly jumps with shock. He puts back the Pokeball and confidently picks up a different one from his belt, which he sends out. Elekid emerges from the Pokeball and immediately looks ready to win. On the other side of the cave is Banryu, who looks a bit intimidated by Elekid's energy. Remembering the phrase "slow and steady wins the race," he sends out Shieldon. Shieldon's facial expression is a symbol of its power and excitement. Elekid starts by using Leer to prove that it's the most confident than Shieldon. Looking a bit provoked, Shieldon starts to get mad and forgets to keep its defenses up. Shieldon's defense was lowered by one (1)! Shieldon, realizing that Elekid isn't all that intimidating, shows off its own scariness by using Taunt! Elekid is so scared that it wastes no time setting up when it needs to get that dinosaur out of the way! Elekid dashes up at Shieldon with glowing hands. It lets out a huge, X-shaped karate shop at Shieldon, and it's a direct hit! However, Elekid's Cross Chop did not hit hard enough for Shieldon to give up. Suddenly, Elekid's hand freezes and Shieldon smiles. Shieldon lets forth a huge burst of energy and Counters Elekid, who flies back incredibly hurt. The little Electric-type Pokemon gets a sudden burst of energy and lets forth a huge Cross Chop toward Shieldon. Both trainers watch as Shieldon looks incredibly hurt. There's no doubt that this attack was a critical hit! Shieldon takes no time to rest and shoots another huge Counter attack Elekid, which hits it extremely hard. Shieldon looks more confident know as it has a good lead, but Elekid is still a lot more energetic!

Aerodactyl starts off the game with its incredible Speed by creating a Substitute. This little doll fits in with the rest of the toys in N's playroom and can not be found! However, Nidoran decides to use Thunderbolt anyway. Due to the fuzz on the Substitute, the Thunderbolt was automatically pulled toward it. It seems like the attack did nothing! Not realizing Aerodactyl was still there, Nidoran started to feel something. She slowly tilted her head up and realized Aerodactyl's claw clippings had been falling on her. With its new manicure, the huge pterodactyl is now more threatening and attractive. Despite this sidetrack, Nidoran wastes no time and instantly fires of an Ice Beam. The Substitute appears to be frozen! Slowly watching, Nidoran starts charging up its volts when in a flash, the ice shatters! Turning around to see what happened, Nidoran realizes that the Substitute broke with the ice. Suddenly a huge shadow appears as Aerodactyl swoops down from the monkey bars and stabs the unidentified species right in her tiny stomach. What Aerodactyl did not realize is that Nidoran had been charging up her volts the whole time! The touch gave Aerodactyl a dose of Nidoran's Thunderbolt! We take a look at the battlers again. While Nidoran seems to have a slight edge, our favorite fossil is confident that he will win as his claws are menacingly dangerous.

Both players look at each other with both courage and determination in their eyes. Wyverii seems to be the most prepared, and she wears a faint smile on her red face. Looking at a darker Pokeball on her belt, she whispers something non-distinguishable from where smashlloyd is and slowly wraps her fingers around it. Wyverii slowly removes the Pokeball from her belt and throws out Murkrow! Looking a bit surprised, smashlloyd quickly realizes what he needs to go. Picking up a silver Pokeball, he grins hugely and sends out Bronzor! The two Pokemon look at each other with deadly stares of hatred. Murkrow makes the first move by slowly turning its eyes red. Bronzor absorbs the shock from Murkrow's eyes and slowly starts to get dizzy. This is doubtlessly some intense confusion! Bronzor must make sure that this doesn't happen against for a while, so it uses Imprison to prevent Murkrow from using any move Bronzor knows for a full 6 six actions! On the other side of the field, we see Murkrow stop battling. It lands on the ground and stops moving. Everyone and his or her Pokemon looked at Murkrow as it did nothing, but it suddenly started to budge. Looking extremely threatening, Murkrow starting flying toward Bronzor with a shadowy aura surrounding it. Bronzor starts to look extremely scared and starts trying to levitate away. Realizing it is exponentially slower than Murkrow, Bronzor's first line of defense is the use Confuse Ray on Murkrow. However, Murkrow is focused that we know only slight confusion was inflicted! The ghostly aura around Murkrow starts to fly toward Bronzor in the form of a ball. Bronzor is hit so hard that it its Special Defense is lowered! Still confused, Bronzor can't help attack itself as it doesn't know what to do!

those are three rounds that I've reffed ^

This is one of my favorite battles as the arena was really creative, and it shows how awesome Duskull can be.

Here is another one of my favorite battles since it was extremely close, and it shows how basic Pokemon can beat evolved Pokemon! Also, it really shows the power/broken-ness of recovery moves.

What? Nobody signed up for Secretary? Guess I will!! (*Ninja'd by -Charmander-, but still not daunted*)

I personally believe I am a viable choice for secretary because of my long standing experience within this community. I may not be active 24/7, however, I do know the logistics of this game and how the majority of it works. I feel that if necessary, I could work as a back-up secretary (if my every now-and-then inactivity becomes a major issue).

Links to Favorite Battles:
Castle Siege! Venser vs Aquamarius (Flora Ref) Albeit it is an ongoing match, I really like this match due to the complexity of the arena and match as well.
Deck Knight vs. Chou Toshio (Darkamber8828 Ref) One of my favorite matches. The simplicity of both 'mons and the uniqueness of the moves that Deck and Chou used to damage one another shows that sometime technique is much better than using the strongest attack (Example: Ember vs. Fire Blast).

Begin Round 1!

Daaaa, da da da da dum-dum! Daaaa, da da da da da dum-dum-dum-dum! (Pokemon Theme playing in the background)

Welcome to this exciting match-up between Bug Catcher Chou Toshio and the amazing Ace Trainer Athenodoros! We find ourselves today in the middle of a tropical jungle! Currently, the atmosphere is slightly humid because of the warm temperatures and the sun is in the sky. Of course the canopy of our arena here today is thickly lined with lots of exotic trees. And it seems like the two trainers are getting ready with their Pokemon! Chou Toshio starts off the match by sending out his Scyther, well known as Akaba the Scyther. Athenodoros responds by sending out his Dratini, Nidhogg the Dratini to be exact. And the match is now in session!

Well the audience should be ready with a thrill tonight, as the match-up is quite serious. Akaba and Nidhogg stare off at one another, and within the blink of an eye, Akaba disappears! It seems like Akaba wants to play this match using the terrain to his advantage folks! In fact, we find him hiding behind a tree that's approximately 40 feet away from Nidhogg, and it looks like he's beginning to dance in some sort of a ritual. The way he's spinning seems like he's attempting to pull a Swords Dance folks! Let's take a look at what Nidhogg is doing. It seems like Akaba isn't the only one that's dancing! Nidhogg is taking part in a separate ritual, an old ritual called the Rain Dance! In fact, rain appears to be falling down on the arena!

It appears that Akaba won't be stopping his Swords Dance anytime soon folks, so a little entertainment coming from a flying preying mantis should be quite a blast for the kids! Nidhogg, however, seems to be having other plans! In fact, the little dragon hatchling appears to be settling in to fire something. WHOA!!! It's a large beam of electricity! This means that it could be none other than a Thunder attack!! Will the attack hit the unsuspecting Akaba?!! Most likely not! Nidhogg just doesn't have the vision to see Akaba under all of this massive rain shower and jungle brush! However, it seems like Akaba was unable to evade the aftershock so he still was hit by a bit of the electricity.

The hurt Akaba seems distraught and a bit unhappy about his situation. Chou yells to Akaba to attack. Akaba holds up both of its sharp frontal appendages, which begin to glow. What is the meaning of this? Why, it appears that Akaba is readying itself to strike!! It zooms around the trees and straight towards Nidhogg, slashing diagonally at Nidhogg with a precise and painful X-Scissor!!! Nidhogg, however doesn't seem like he was caught off guard. Noticing the movement in the brush, Nidhogg braces itself and starts charging another Thunder attack. The attack hits just as Akaba slashes at Nidhog! The power of the attack is so great, that it paralyzes Akaba!!! What were the odds!!! Such a powerful blast and right at the wrong time for Akaba. It seems like the match is beginning to turn in favor of Nidhog!

End Round 1

Field Effects:
The brush and undergrowth is limiting accuracy and evasiveness. Rain is falling (4 more rounds in effect). Puddles are beginning to appear on the jungle floor.

Round 4 Begin!

This battles was brought to you by FinnRagetti's Battle Computer. Fight like a Cyber-Man here!!

The battle continues between Kaxtar and ginganinja! This fight, which is taking place in an evil circus arena has been pounding at the battling contenders left and right. Kaxtar's Aura Beast has been fighting strong, taking on ginganinja's Gravi out. Ginganinja responded by releasing his Vapor out to combat him.

Thanks to Trick Room being in effect, Vapor was able to be much faster than Aura Beast. Taking advantage of its high speed, it bashes its fins into the ground. The ground begins to shake under the impact, a sudden Earthquake erupts. The gravel on the ground begins to crumble, pieces of rock and earth breaking up. Aura Beast, being hurt, runs straight towards baring its fangs. A dark matter begins to form in his mouth. Aura Beast Crunches down upon Vapor, Vapor's strong shell being the only reason why the attack is not as powerful.

Vapor summons another Earthquake. The power more intense. However, since Aura Beast and Vapor at such closer range, Vapor feels a few of the effects from the attack. Aura Beast, using the impact, launches himself at Vapor. It begins to focus energy its palm beginning to glow with a with a blue flame. He smashes his palm into Vapor, smashing him with a Force Palm. The force of the attack paralyzes Vapor.

The smash from Force Palm, blows Vapor back. Vapor, however, pushing upon its tail-fins, jumps into the air. He Body Slams Aura Beast. Aura Beast does a back flip, and doubles back, retreating a few feet. He begins to hop around in a circle. Suddenly, he starts to dance around in a circle. His movements cause an illusion of a sword to appear. The Swords Dance begins to increase his attack.

The evil marionette begins to sway back and forth, and suddenly a thunderbolt smashes down into both Pokemon, hurting both of them by quite a bit.

End Round 4

Field Effects:

The sandstorm is raging (1 Rounds in effect). Trick Room is in effect (1 Rounds in effect). Magic Room is in effect (4 Rounds in effect).

Begin Round 3!!

Welcome to yet another astounding round of Tilt Panic!! Your commentators for today are very valid Venser and the amazingly accurate Acklow! The sponsers of this fight are Acklow's Berry Pies, The Dojo, and The Battle Subway.

As we look upon the field it seems like Polaris the Koffing is on the edge of the platform. Luckily, the platform doesn't seem to be tilting at all, as Polaris is floating above it. Frollo the Meditite seems to be taking advantage of this crazy arena, hoping that his powerful punches are able to pack the plowing power to push Polaris off the prudent edge!! WHO will be able to take this match to the next level? Well, don't go away, because this round of combat is underway!

Folks, it looks like Frollo's trainer, Objection has figured out his opponent's next move! But why in the world is that little onion head Bulking Up? It seems like Frollo is feeling much stronger because of his rigorous warm up...must be his BIG PECKS!!!!WOOT!!!
Well would you look at that!!! Polaris is spewing out a Sludge Bomb!! How disgusting... The audience looks like it's about to barf at the sight. The greenish-brownish ooze seems to be melting a thin layer of the platform, looks like anyone who steps in that will be seeing themselves slightly poisoned for a while. Polaris seems to have been propelled by this messy attack towards the center of the stage.

It looks like Objection is yelling a command to Frollo. What will Frollo do? Oh my, why it's a powerful Drain Punch!! Frollo's fists are glowing in a greenish glow! His punch is connected to Polaris!! Whoa! Polaris is losing some of his energy to Frollo!! The impact is sending Polaris towards the edge again!! Polaris's trainer, iiMKUltra, seems to be grimacing under the stress of this battle. But Pokemon and Trainer alike, it doesn't seem like they're about to let this battle opportunity fall away! Polaris forces its body towards the center of the platform by Tackling Frollo. The impact causes both Pokemon to slide towards the center, however, the platform seems to have tilted to a 200 degree angle, causing movement on the platform to be a little more tedious.

Well folks, this battle isn't over yet!!! Frollo seems to be following up with another powerful Drain Punch!! The power knocked Polaris off of his feet (wtf?!! how in the world can that happen?!!)!!! Polaris flies to the end of the platform that is tilted upwards. Polaris spews another disgusting spray of toxic waste, in the form of Sludge Bomb. The spittle sizzles as some of it hits the ground, while the other bits of it fly straight into Frollo. This battle has been raging awesome!!

End Round 3

Field Effects:

Platform is tilted 200 degrees.
There are some toxic waste puddles on the ground. If any non-poison Pokemon steps on them, they will receive minor poisoning.
Polaris is on the upper edge of the platform.
Frollo is at the center of the platform.

Thanks for taking this battle Flora, I just want to mention that for this battle, Cacnea and Hippopotas lack the moves Sucker Punch and Rest, as those were added later.

Alright, Finn, we got to watch out for any physical attacks! I want you to start out this round by dodging any moves Great (or any other Pokemon he may send out) uses by utilizing Agility. Use the Hazy fog to your advantage while you are doing this. In doing so, we will be faster than this little chick and we can begin bombarding him with high power Water moves. Next up, I want you to fly out of the fog and begin firing some more Boiling Water at him. This will be a bit hard since there isn't too much water around, but try to draw on the water that is in the grass around you so that you can use this move. Lastly, I want you to finish the round with a harsh Bubblebeam. Try to get behind him when you use this move because we don't want these bubbles popping.

If he tries to the attack, Protect, against any of your attacks, make use of this by using Agility instead, so that he wastes a defensive maneuver. However, do not let him take advantage of this. If he decides to switch anytime between attacks, I want you to close in on the Pokemon that just switched in and punish it with a point blank Supersonic wave. Make sure you get at least ONE damaging move in, however! You can do this Finn!

So:
1)Dodge any possible attacks with Agility
2)Boiling Water
3)Bubblebeam

OR

Exchange any option with Agility if he uses Protect.
OR
Exchange any option with a point blank Supersonic (which should have increased accuracy, btw) if he switches Pokemon.
Make sure to deal ONE damaging attack if all other actions are taken up by non-damaging moves.

I'll also be applying as a member of the Standing Committee.
I feel I am perfectly qualified to a position here, if not the secretary position. Reason being: my long standing experience. I have been here since the day CAP ASB was released (not while it was developed, mind you). And though I did not contribute to its development, I still am an active member of CAP ASB, battling regularily and reffing at least once a week. I feel my opinion deserves to be heard (I am also very active in the RP Thread, *at least a little under a quarter of the posts there are mine*).

My Battles:
2+2 vs. 2+2 Tag Battle (Acklow, Athenodoros, Kaxtar, and Galladiator)
vs. GoldenKnight
vs. Venser
vs. Dogfish44
vs. Plusle
vs. Kannon
vs. GoldenKnight

Battles I've reffed:
Tortferngatr vs. Kaxtar
GoldenKnight vs. HD
Kaxtar vs. ginganinja
Chou Toshio vs. Athenodoros (Taken over by Destiny Warrior)
Athenodoros vs. Doran Dragon (Taken over by Zarator)
Kannon vs. Rolf
Objection vs. iiMKUltra

I'd like to apply for the Head Team Approver position, though let me say that smash (or alch, for that matter) would also be a fine choice for head approver.

Also, I'm applying to be a committee member. I'm very active, trying to ref at least two/three battles at once, and almost always having three battles going on at once. I'm also very active on IRC, both with discussions and answering simple questions. Some of my favorite battles/reffings:

Battles: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86523 Ginganinja vs Kaxtar (It was a very close and even battle, and I think that we both made some solid plays the shifted the tide of the match)
http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86717 Destiny Warrior vs Kaxtar (Even though I was screwed from the start, the first ASB triple battle was very fun, and alch did a fantastic job with his reffing)
http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86391 Kaxtar vs Solstice (Also a nice battle, I liked my use of Whirlpool and other moves)

Reffings: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86739 Tortferngatr vs. FinnRagetti (The double battle aspect and the many interactions with the arena have made this a very memorable battle to ref)
http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86173 Rediamond vs. Limewire (The arena was amazing, and the pokemon were evenly matched, for the most part)
http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86140 TotalPotato vs. FinnRagetti (Again, the arena was great, and I like the take that I took with the wild pokemon and the forest fire)

Thanks for considering me for these positions!

Applying for Standing Commitee Member and Village Idiot.

Please bear with me, as I'm in Florida for Spring Break, and can't link with my phone. I can provide the links next Monday, but you know I've been doing stuff.
Battles:
vs. Zarator (rounds 1 and 2)
vs. Wikey
vs. Charmander and PinkCaptainFalcon
vs. Limewire
There are others, but those are the ones I remember, minus onevsone and battles that ended in DQ.

Reffings:
Deck Knight vs. Dogfish44
Danmantincan vs Darkamber
Zarator vs Son of Shadoo
I've reffed others that I can't remember off the top of my head. I like to think I'm a decent ref, and I'm pretty good fromwhatI hear.

Qualifications for Village Idiot:
Using Razor Wind on a Ghost Type
Female Kirlia
+Att Haunter
Nuzleaf
Trolling everyone since before the game was released by being a crappy contributor.
See #capasb conversations.

Overall, I believe I am extremely qualifed to be the Village Idiot of CaPASB, because, let's face it, every village has got to have one.

Hi! I'd like to apply as a Standing Committee Member. While I appreciate the honour of dibs on Head Team Approver I'm more than happy to let Smash and Kax duke that one out.

Battles
Vs. Cartoons [WON]
Vs. Dogfish44 [LOST]
Vs. HD [WON]
And of course the first ever battle here Vs. Deck Knight [TOTALLY NOT LOST]

I'm currently battling Zarator and Destiny_Warrior, and will soon be battling -Charmander-.

Reffings:
Rolf Vs. Kaxtar
Rolf Vs. mewtwo15026
Destiny_Warrior Vs. Kaxtar [That really nasty Triples one]

I'm reffing two others battles currently, both of which are close to completion. I hope people will back me up when I say in flowery language that my reffing style is delightfully concise and volumptuously fantastic /irony.

While I don't think I'm supposed to sell myself other than through posting these links, I have been here since pretty much the beginning and I've been an active presence in all facets of ASB. Hopefully I make the committee!

I'd like to apply as a Standing Committee Member as well.

Battles:

http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86261 Versus FinnRagetti (Match 1), 1v1 Singles, switching irrelevant, all abilities, 2 days dq, two uses of Recover/Rest and 5 chills, items enabled. Victory mine.

http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86134 Versus Kaxtar, 3v3 Singles, switch=OK, all abilities, 2 days dq, two uses of Recover/Rest and 5 chills, no items. Victory Kaxtar's.

http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=102320 Freezing Fury (part 1) w/ Omegaman and Berserker Lord, 2v2v2 Melee, switch=KO, one ability, 4 days dq, 3 uses of Recover/Rest and 8 chills, no items. (Trying something with this battle similar to that one "Shadow of a Doubt" battle that never got finished. RPing line.)

Reffing:

http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86428 DarkSlay versus Its_A_Random. 1v1 Singles, switch=n/a, one ability, 3 days dq, two uses of Recover/Rest and 5 chills, no items.

http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86321 DarkSlay versus Wikey. 1v1 Singles, switch=n/a, all abilities, 3 days dq, two uses of Recover/Rest and 5 chills, items enabled.

http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86363 Engineer Pikachu vs. Rolf. 2v2 Singles, switch=KO, all abilities, 3 days dq, two uses of Recover/Rest and 5 chills, no items.

I can also speak for various procrastinators throughout CAP ASB.

I'd like to apply to be a Committee Member, if I'm not too late.

Battles:
vs. Solstice (3v3) (Singles)
vs. Athenodoros (2v2) (Doubles) (Lose)
vs. Rolf (2v2) (Singles) (Win)

I don't really have many battles that I'm in / have been in due to the fact that none of my battles progress fast enough; I'm always trying to keep my quota full, however. One example of this is the battle vs. Solstice that I have in my list; it has been going on since the fourteenth of February.

Refs:
Samurai v Chomper (Samurai wins) (3v3) (Singles)
Dracoyoshi8 + HD vs. Cartoons! + Wikey (C + W win) (1+1 vs. 1+1) (Tag-Team Singles)
Rediamond v Wikey (Wikey wins) (4v4) (Doubles)

The rest can be found here.

I was extremely active during the first stages of the project. There was a short period of time where I almost completely dropped out of the scene, due to work issues and the fact that none of my battles had been updated. I fell behind a little bit in terms of reffing, but now I'm back on track and ready to do some more.

I'd also like to help the Head Referee, whoever that will be. I do not feel that I am qualified enough to take the position or even apply for the position, but reffing is an enjoyable pastime for me and I'd like to help make that true for other people.

EDIT: I'm not sure if this is the place to put it, but I'd also like to help approve things if there's another spot available. I've looked over some people's teams and pointed out some errors before; approving new items is really one of the best ways to keep the game running and make it new for everyone.

Oh dear, I hope I still have time to apply for standing commitee.

Reffed matches (I'm pretty slow at updating them):

Current Matches:
Doran Dragon vs Solstice
Albinoloon vs Energy Storm

Past Matches:
Kaxtar vs TotalPotato
FinnRagetti vs Tortferngatr
Cartoons! vs TotalPotato

My battles:

Current Battles:
vs LupusAter
vs Venser (awaiting a referee)

Past Battles:
vs Rediamond (lost)
vs HD (lost)
vs Timmetmannetje (won via DQ)
vs Lord Jesseus (dropped, no one wins)
vs HD, Round 2! (won)

Like Engineer Pikachu, I was pretty active when CAPASB was released, but I've slowed down a bit, especially when it comes to reffing. Hopefully, I can catch up over spring break.

I, unlike most other people, will apply for the role of secretary! I've been following this game and its changes since day one, and am around almost all the time, meaning I'm almost always keeping track of what's going on in #capasb. I've started polishing up my writing style recently (it sounds a lot better when I'm commentating as opposed to narrating) which is most likely going to be helpful in presenting the SotG threads. I also favor to-the-point reffings as opposed to long ramblings which are usually more boring then flavorful.

Two favorite battles I wasn't in:
Flora vs. Berserker Lord This was the first complex battle I'd seen, ever, and it really opened my eyes to the potential of having no set arena.
D_W vs. Smash vs. gk Again, a battle which isn't a simple xvx singles. This time, it was a 3 man melee battle, and there's a lot to be learned from this battle like the power of teaming up, as well as arena abuse on a simple arena.

The battle continues with both trainers smarting at the loss of a Pokemon, dogfish44 most recently, but the only active pokemon is almost unharmed, having suffered only one blow. Dogfish44 tosses out another Pokeball which hits the ground, shooting out a bouncing pyschic-pig on a spring. However as it hits the ground, some dramatic music plays from the heavens, and he grows in all directions (including scaryness! That thing is intimidating!) However this sudden evolution seems to have weakened him.

The pig with a spring for a tail takes the opportunity and charges at the Mudkip, trailing his fist behind him. He arrives near the target, winds up with his momentum, throws a massive punch...and misses!!! The force of the incredible punch as it slams into the ground knocks many of the nearby trees down, and the building shakes as tremors spread. Vladdy seems to have planned on taking the hit, as he falls over. He was supposed to absorb the power of the hit and retaliate but instead managed to just overcompensate and trip!

Annoyed, the Grumpig forces energy into his jewels and shoots out a weak electrical charge, aiming to disable part of the foe's attacks. Just in time, however, Vladdy the Mudkip makes an annoying noise and wets the ground around him, split by GRUMPus's previous attack. Diving and rolling alongside this muddy concoction directly towards the electric attack coming at him, the pseudo-earth deflects and removes any damaging aspect the attack would have. Unscathed albeit muddy, true to his name, Mudkip stands strong.

As Vladdy revels in this return to his more earthy side, GRUMPus is frustrated by the fact that none of his mighty attacks have done...anything! His small feet somehow compensating for his massive body, he plods rapidly along the ground towards the most annoying Pokemon he has ever faced down. He lowers his head – it's glowing – it looks like the jewels are the source of the light, but it's spreading over his head – and BAM! Mudkip reels from the force of the physical blow..or seems to while instead he is preparing a true retaliation. With a "MUUUUDD---KIIIIIPPPPPP!" he slams his own head into the Grumpig's fat belly, bouncing both contestants backwards and stunning the pig.

Both Pokemon are about 4 feet apart from each other, near the trees. The ground is cracked and in some areas muddy.

Hello, and thank you for watching the results of a cross-over between Sony and Nintendo–I mean, thank you for watching the feature Pokemon Battle! Today, we've got the trainers iiMKUltra and Objection, battling it out on a giant, tilting, platform of ice!

Unfazed by the arena, both combatants toss out their Poke Balls, and release the two Pokemon which will be battling today
– Polaris the Koffing, with toxic smoke trailing behind him; I'm certainly not doing any up-close analysis on that creature; and Frollo the Meditite! Despite his small size, his muscles are already bursting out of his skin! This is certainly going to be a hard-hitting battle!

Meditite seems to have the imitative, and summons a bevy of rocks to crash down on the Koffing. However, the nearest source of such rocks seems to be the bottom of the ocean! As such, Frollo's attack probably isn't hitting at full power, although it does manage to push Koffing over towards the Northern edge of the arena. The Koffing, unfazed by the weak attack, shoots out a ball of fire, leaving a depression in the shape of the path it followed on the ice. The light blue fire strikes true, burning the Meditite and making it harder for him to use his vast muscles.

Meditite, instead of attacking again, this time relaxes his taut muscles, and goes through several mental exercises, leaving him sharper then before. He slips a little bit further towards the North side of the ice rink, towards the Koffing. Speaking of the Koffing, it doesn't look like Polaris is going to take advantage of Frollo's inaction by attacking, but instead is using a tactic reminiscent of a squid shooting out ink, but shooting out smog instead, to disorient the Meditite!

Meditite finally decides to go on the offensive, and shoots out a weak telikinetic force. The strength is boosted by his calming exercises, allowing him to focus deeper and draw out more energy, but he can't see very well, due to the cloud of smog. As the psychic forces purge through the smog, almost dissipating it, Koffing moves ever so slightly and the attack misses! The window of opportunity here is taken by Polaris as he shoots out a solider blob of toxic waste, which slides across the ice and crashes into Frollo, pushing him further south than he had intended to go.

Meditite: .5 power Rockslide, 5 energy, 4 damage; Calm Mind, 7 energy; Confusion, 3 energy

Koffing: Will-O-Wisp, 7 energy, 2 dpa; Smokescreen, 4 energy, Sludge Bomb, 7 energy, 12 damage

Welcome back to the hottest Pokemon battle channel! Today, we're continuing a much overdue battle between Objection and iiMKUltra, two up-and-coming trainers who certainly show a lot of promise! Polaris the Koffing is facing down Frollo the Meditite as the round is about to start! Frollo's certainly taking a toll from Koffing's attacks, and to top it off his muscles are seething with a burn! Let's see if Objection can take this battle back.

Meditite starts off this round by tapping into his psychic powers, giving his aching muscles a break, as he breaks into the mind of Koffing and realizes what he's planning to do. His next move's most likely going to hit, but Polaris ignores what's going on inside his head and shoots out a ball of sludge. As the attack hits Frollo, the toxic corrodes the ice around him, causing a depression in the floe where he stands. However, his burn seems to have lessened.

And just in time, as Frollo repeats his attack from last round and summons a storm of rocks from the ocean floor, which crash down on top of the Koffing, pinning him to the ground. The attack seems to have taken a toll on Meditite, as he's breathing heavily from the exertion, and what's more Koffing is able to shoot a bolt of electricity from between the cracks in his rocky prison dead-on, jolting Meditite back to reality.

Suddenly it becomes clear what Objection's plan is, as his Meditite races across the slippery ice, trailing both fists behind him. As he nears the Koffing's prison, he moves his fists forward almost faster than the eye can see - BAM! Frollo smashes through the rocks and pushes the grounded Koffing ever closer to the edge! It looks like iiMKUltra's going to have to spend some time next round regaining his position. Koffing doesn't seem to care, however, shooting out another ball of waste which slams the Meditite backwards on the ice.

Koffing is PRECARIOUSLY close to the edge of the ice, plan wisely for next turn.

Meditite: Mind Reader, 6 energy; .5 power Rockslide, 5 energy, 4 damage, Drain Punch, 7 damage, + 4 HP, 8 energy

Koffing: Sludge Bomb, 7 energy, 11 damage; Thunderbolt, 7 energy, 9 damage; Sludge Bomb, 7 energy, 12 damage

Like EP, Limewire, etc. I've have pretty much been here since the beginning, & I do have a good grasp of the Mechanics, etc. So, yeah. That's about it, I think...Apart from the fact that I do not have IRC access...

Okay, applying for Secretary.

I've been involved with ASB from early on, and while I haven't been as active in the battling department until recently, I've always been outspoken when it comes to policy suggestions. I've been chatting in #capasb, and I've been following policy and other things since the beginning. Furthermore, I believe my writing skills are already tested and proven, since I've been a writer for The Smog since its inception, and I've also written countless analyses for the site. I not only have the Contributor badge, but also I was the first (and at the time only) person to earn the Smog Contributor badge for the quality and quantity of my Smog articles.

Hello there everyone, I'm Arthur King with the Channel 13 Poke-News. We're following a breaking story occurring in the heart of downtown, as a man identifying himself only as "Life Admiral" has issued a challenge against local celebrity Deck Knight, and has backed that challenge up by sending out his Spoink. Shortly after that, Deck Knight answered the challenge, summoning his own Onix to attempt to put this altercation to an end. Let's cut to Jeff Mansfield, who's there at the scene. Jeff?

<long pause>

Hi, thanks Arthur. The battle between these two is about to begin, and it looks like Spoink has closed its eyes and begun to Calm Mind- the pearl on top of its head has begun to glow. However, it looks like Onix has other ideas in mind as... wait, what the hell is that? Folks, it looks like Onix has turned this place into a dust bowl! Grit and sand is flying everywhere, and it's tough to make out what's going on. Only Onix is getting through this unscathed, while Spoink and the entire crowd of onlookers struggles to stay standing in this buffeting sand.

Spoink looks like he's having none of this, as it seems that a beam of psychic energy has started to pulse out of the pearl on Spoink's head, striking Onix directly in the face. However, Onix shakes it off, retaliating by grabbing any nearby rocks and hurling them directly at Spoink. Unfortunately for the little pig, the rocks are perfectly on target, bowling it over, critically hitting it, and dazing it heavily. It's trying as hard as it can to get back to its senses, and its trainer is yelling at it to use Confuse Ray... but oh! The now-confident Onix is now reared up, and it looks like it's Taunting the poor Spoink. Too full of rage to follow its trainer's command, the Confuse Ray fizzles and pops before it reaches its intended target.

<cuts back to Arthur>

Thanks Jeff. Anyway, it looks like there's a break in the action, but we'll be right back after a message from our Sponsors. Remeber, get all your equipment from OakTech! Because you can't catch 'em all if you don't have the balls!

We're here with yet another installment of Pokemon Battle Revolution! Things are currently looking grim for Venser's Monohm, Swells, but it looks like he could care less from where I'm standing. Indeed, it looks like Swells is just Slacking Off, which serves to give it a bit of a morale boost as well as a bit more vigor. Not putting up with this one bit, Wyverii's Piplup, King, readies another Ice Beam. However, right as he's about to fire, all his limbs lock up, and he is unable to get the attack off. Folks, King has been Fully Paralyzed for the first time in this matchup.

Not wanting to lose his momentum, King sets up an Aqua Ring in an attempt to heal himself up a little bit with its soothing waters. However, as soon as he finishes the watery bubble, Swells slams violently into King with a Wild Charge, which scores a Critical Hit! On top of that, it appears that the healing sheen around King has only served to amplify the electrical power, and it delivers a jolt of its own to the two before falling to the ground, its enchantment dispelled by Swells' crackling energy.

Having just delivered one of the most violent blows I've ever seen in my career as a commentator, Swells elects to recuperate slightly by Slacking Off again. Shaken by Swells' violent impact, King decides to go back on the offensive, this time successfully firing off an Ice Beam in an attempt to give Swells a new meaning for "chilling out". The beam is deflected slightly by the charged energy still crackling around Swells, and strikes it directly on its side.

It looks like the combination of King's Yawn, its strenuous activity, and its time spent slacking off has finally taken its toll on Swells, as it appears to have fallen asleep spontaneously in the middle of the battle! With King nearly backed into the wall and Venser snoozing away about 10 feet away from him, it appears that the tables have rather violently turned here. Be sure to tune in text time for what may well be the exciting conclusion to this episode of Pokemon Battle Revolution!

Welcome back to Pokemon Battle Revolution! We're currently watching a heated battle between Venser's Monohm, Swells, and Wyverii's Piplup, King! Starting things off this round, it looks like Swells is looking to slow his opponent down a bit, as he fires off a Thunder Wave, causing waves of electricity to crackle around King. It looks like he's Paralyzed! Undaunted, King fires off yet another Ice Beam, this time hitting Swells squarely in the face! I'm not sure how many more of those he can take...

Ever defiant, Swells Charges up electricity around him. It looks like he's getting ready for a big attack- one which King definitely isn't going to enjoy getting hit with. Spooked by this show of force, King fires off a fourth Ice Beam! Though the electricity swirling around Swells manages to deflect the beam slightly, it still hits him, covering his right flank with a shimmering layer of ice crystals.

Shaking off the cold, Swells decides to get things back in his favor, and delivers a decisive Wild Charge, ramming into King with enough force that it looks like even Swells himself is having trouble collecting himself. On top of that, it looks like King took a bit of an extra jolt from the water he was standing in! However, King looks... uninterested? He's taken advantage of Swells' daze and opens his mouth up for a huge Yawn! Unable to flee after the violent impact, it looks like Swells is beginning to get a little drowsy...

At the end of this round, the competitors are about 6 feet apart. Swells is lazing about in the puddle of water that King formerly found himself inhabiting, looking like it might just be naptime for him soon. King's sitting about 6 feet away from him, blue electricity crackling along all of his limbs.

Favorite battles:

3v3- Kannon vs. Darkamber8828 (Reffed by Flora)

Just a fun battle. Good reffing makes the battle neat to read, and Flora also does a good job of making the most of a pretty vanilla stage. On top of that, the two battlers come into it with a playful nature rather than a purely competitive one, which just makes the battle pretty fun all in all. Also, Kannon shows that it's always possible to make the best out of a bad situation, even if you're at a huge disadvantage.

2v2- GoldenKnight vs. HD (Reffed by Acklow)

A pretty neat battle that again shows how you can use smart move-making to get out of a bad position. It also includes one of the first instances of combining the effects of moves to create a new effect (ExtremeSpeed + Twister while underwater to make a Water Spout), which eventually wins the match for GK despite his disadvantage throughout the battle.

I will be applying for two positions. First off, a little bio about myself in terms of ASB.

I've been active with ASB ever since it was first created, and helped somewhat during the creation process as well. I am currently a #capasb vOP, and both a Team Approver and a Prize Approver. I have been greatly involved with handling intelligent discussions on the iRC server as well as providing information for newcomers to the ASB game. I also am a competent battler and a well versed referee. I know quite a lot about the ASB physics and game mechanics, and often speak out to help create beneficial changes to the game. I hope that one of the two positions I seek will further my chances to interact with other ASB users, and provide an outlet for myself to continue helping and working with other inspiring Trainers along the way.

BEGIN TURN TWO

Peter, having been hit with a ferocious Twister, shakes his head and stands up. His vision has increased slightly, but he still cannot make out Finn entirely. Peter tightly shrinks its body into a coil shape, and releases himself with ExtremeSpeed! Peter swiftly runs about, his movements creating air currents that eliminate all existing Haze! He locks on to the now present Finn and slams into her, causing serious damage. Finn gasps for air, once again trying to breathe in cold energy to form an Ice Beam! The beam of ice glides towards Peter and directly, hitting Peter for massive super-effective damage!

High in the air, Finn floats purposefully, trying to gather more energy to fire another high-powered Ice Beam at Peter. Peter shakes off the massive hit, but has become slightly more aware and afraid of the beams of ice Finn has been producing. In an effort to warm up its body temperature and avoid another Ice Beam, Peter slithers up to the close Fin and Wraps itself around her! This causes damage after every action and reduces the accuracy of Finn's moves! Peter constricts itself around Finn, tightly grabbing her bird-like fins, causing both Pokemon to plummet down to the surface! Finn spins around rapidly, trying to find the right spot to hit Peter with an Ice Beam while also trying to control her landing spot! She fires off an Ice Beam - but misses! Instead, the Ice Beam hits the river, freezing off one portion of it! Wrap takes its toll on Finn!

As the two Pokemon plummet hard down to the ground, Peter slows down his heartbeat once again, this time in tune with the currently captured Finn, and fires off a nasty Dragon Pulse! This hits Finn hard, increasing the velocity of the fall! Finn once again tries to fire off another Ice Beam, but again misses its target! However, the pressure of the missed Ice Beam alters the path of the fall, plummeting both Finn and Peter right into the thickly frozen section of the river! Both Finn and Peter take Ice Beam damage! The frozen section cracks, plummeting both Pokemon into the water that lies underneath. Wrap takes its toll!

BEGIN ROUND 2

Black Skull, looking a little bit dazed and confused, starts to create static to fire off a Thunderbolt! The bolts connect with the water, causing damage to both Pearl and Black Skull. Pearl responds by aiming an Ice Beam at the shallow, water-filled chamber's floor. This creates a block of ice that will melt after one (1) turn!

Black Skull, realizing that Pearl won't be hit so easily by Thunderbolt any longer, decides to use Dragon Pulse instead! Unfortunately, Black Skull can't seem to get a good read on its heartbeat for making such a pulse, and angrily hurts itself in confusion. Meanwhile, Pearl spews out a jet of water to propel the ice block in circles around Black Skull, creating a miniature Whirlpool! Black Skull gets caught in the shallow, yet powerful, currents, getting trapped for a few turns! Whirlpool damage takes its toll! The ice block melts away into the ocean water!

Angered, Black Skull once again rubs its body to produce even more electricity for Thunderbolt! This time, the attack goes off, hitting both Pearl and Black Skull. However, the currents of electricity seem to have gone a bit deeper into Pearl's soft interior, paralyzing it greatly! Pearl responds by propelling itself up high from the floor, aiming at Black Skull with a super effective Ice Beam generated by the dense air! The beam smacks Black Skull for major damage! Since Pearl lost concentration, the Whirlpool disappeared!

BEGIN TURN FIVE

Staring from the top of the waterfall, Peter mischievously laughs as Finn is lefts swimming in the river below. Peter starts to swirl in a clockwise formation, once again creating a mighty Twister! However, Finn also starts swimming in circles, this time in a counter-clockwise fashion. She also creates a Twister! Peter's Twister starts to scale down the waterfall, while Finn's Twister starts to climb up the wall. The two Twisters collide, and two opposite currents stop both Twisters from hitting their targets!

Finn starts flapping its fins wildly, and starts to ascend the cliff. Peter fires off a nasty Dragon Pulse, hitting Finn for a good portion of damage! As Finn hits the top of the waterfall, she fires a piping hot Boiling Water from her mouth! The water hits Peter right in the face, causing it to jump out of the water! The water is so hot, it causes a burn on Dratini! Dratini suffers damage from the burn!

Panicked, Peter starts dancing wildly in circles, initiating a Dragon Dance! Spirits of Dragonite circle around Peter, raising its Attack and Speed by one stage! Finn begins to culminate cold air to let loose a thick Haze! However, Finn's body cramps, and Finn becomes fully paralyzed! Peter starts rubbing its body on the ground, Shedding its Skin and removing the burn caused by Boiling Water!

Goldenknight V. HD

This is an excellent read. If you haven't had the chance to do so, or are looking for an entertaining battle that hails from the near start of ASB, this is the perfect pick. Acklow does a great job of reffing this one, and the commentary and skill is excellent. I've read this one quite a few times, and it never gets old. Also, it gives a lot of insight on how to properly use moves to advantages, such as combination moves (gk's ExtremeSpeed + Dragon Tail) and game physics like Rapid Spin.

Rising_Dusk V. Energy Storm

Although somewhat short, this battle gives great insight as to how double battles operate inside of ASB. I have a great fondness for doubles battles, and the commentary by Deck Knight made this a very enjoyable read for me. The neatness of the battlers' commentary also added to a brilliant presentation, and the match features some powerful Pokemon that add to the flavor. It's a great quick read that will surely encourage you to try out a Doubles match soon!

Due to illness, I have not actively reffed enough to be a Standing Comittee Member. Instead, I will be applying into the only available job, the Secretary. However, as shown below, I have actively reffed before, and in the IRC chat I have helped interpret and debate several controversial issues and reffing debates, and believe that I have enough experience to become a Comittee member. I also have a piece of reffing from another ASB which I could use as a stand in.

Anyway, for Secretary:

Thunder Wave - Dark Pulse - Dark Pulse

Hello and WELCOME to the crater. Nice amount of rocks, which Tiamat greefully crushes under her foot as she pops out. Floating over the rim of the crater and into the centre, Ipta floats in, using her levitate ability. But Tiamat's not ready to hustle, as we have the complimentary insults bewteen the 2 female mons. And ouch, I think someone got related to one of these rocks being cruched under my foot, as the pair of ladies start their engines.

Iota uses some raw speed and coughs up a vulgar mix of chemicals and acids. An impressive feat for something made of gas to be honest, but Tiamat disagrees. Shaking the sludge off her face, she builds up static charge and launches the blue blurr. Hey, you know when mothers say that if you frown your face ends up always looking like that? Well, that also goes equally well for Gastlies, who gets her (Ugly) mug frozen in place by paralysis.

Tiamat now charges up a Dark Pulse, and unleashes it on the unsuspecting Iota. Iota's body gets shredded by the evil power by the Critical Hit, but it doesn't stop her from delving into her memories. Resisting the urge to look at memories from Tiamat's 18th birthday, Iota quickly erases the memory of dark pulse.

Iota follows up by trying to launch off a blast of rainbow light, but goofs up and instead in Paralysis only looks like she's posing for a Picasso Painting. Meanwhile, Tiamat scans her memory to find another copy of that Dark Pulse, but goofs. THAT was a great use of time.

Nitro Charge ~ Sweet Scent ~ Leech Seed

Welcome one and all to Peanut Swamp! This vulgar arena is a marshy place with angry looking lake in the middle, and surrounding us. On the grass, we see a Togepi and an Embirch staring each other down. The 2 females resist the temptation to have a cat fight however, and go with the more conventional battle.

Starting off, Mist charges up a small shot of electricity aimed at Balsamus. The Thunder Wave is fired, but merely hits a plant, who shakes it's roots in anger. Suprised by this (And moreso by the lack of Balsamus), Mist is left wide open to a Nitro Charge, which collides into Mist, and turns her into an egg roll.

Now really annoyyed, Mist mentally plots a combination of a giant blender, Balsamus and... some sort of Sweet Scent!? Unable to focus on her evil plan, Mist comes back to earth, and scowls at Balsamus. Balsamus smiles, evidently SHE had something to do with this...

Balsamus now tries to sneak closer to Mist, but Mist spots this and fires off an Extrasensory. Balsamus feels her mind, body and hair get yanked around, and Flinches!

Hello again and welcome to this... relatively harsh smelling battle. This swamp still stinks, and is ugly as heck. In order to give a nice visual display, Balsamus creates a pretty Fire Spin, which Mist... simply applauded. Heh, perhaps she's a hidden pyrotechnic. Or an arsonist.

Balsamus, utterly amazed by the fact that fire spin got clapped at, Balsamus continues, and the flames continue to attack Mist. Mist however, glares through the flames, and releases another blast of static electricity. It connects, and leaves Balsamus paralyzed. OUCH!

It matters not at this moment in time though, as Balsamus completes his encore with a third and final Fire Spin, taking visibly more energy as time goes by. Mist attempts to burn the seeds off her, but fails due to the lack of seeds, so instead finishes the plot including a Shredder, Balsamus and a Charcoal Store.

Favourite Battles?

http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86125 - One of the original matches, and a great use of realistic reffing. Shows the creativity I enjoy.

http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=102289 - A bit of a later match, but retains good commentary with distinctly less random events. Probably one of the closest examples to what we have today.

I believe that the secretary should know what the controversial issues are for in the SOTG's. I have plenty of IRC knowledge regarding this, and I have also seen battles which show how OP'ed some things can be.
