OK, so this is too long in coming. Let me just say the following:
There can be no apology for my general absence the last month. Although I may have been placing too much pressure on myself in trying to alter the game on a weekly basis, I've also neglected my duties here.
To that end, I would like to establish a more formal structure in the game's hierarchy. One person simply cannot keep up with everything.
Consider me like the Game Master of this Forum. I have final veto power over any policy change that would significantly alter the game. I have specific purposes for the duration and energy costs of each moves, so while I am amenable to changing those or correcting errors in the actual move or ability texts, specific moves and abilities are not up for general discussion.
That being said, I think the players are the best people to determine a lot of the other elements of the game.
To that end I want to establish a formal CAB ASB Policy Committee.
I need the following positions filled:
Secretary:
This person is responsible for posting a game update thread like the State of the Game last month. I will leave it up to committee members to decide how often this should be. ASB is supposed to be dynamic and responsive to player concerns. This person is charged with handling updates on policy changes from the last thread and asking new questions regarding the game. There will be two secretary positions in order to cover if one cannot.
Head Team Approver:
This person is responsible for paying out the checks for approving Pokemon and Prizes. They should be well versed in how to approve new teams and how to format. They will also have the power to institute new Approval Staff. I would like this person to be one of our existing approval staff initially.
Head Referee:
This person is responsible for managing referee compensation and keeping abreast of any reffing issues. They will also have the power to promote referrees and reward them in a more meaningful way than the base we have now. When applying please offer at least five examples of battles you have reffed and explain your general reffing style.
Standing Committee Members:
Standing Committee Members must be actively engaged in both battling and reffing. I will need links to 3 battles and 3 reffings. This is to ensure that any policy decisions made will include the perspective both of people battling and people who are reffing matches. Refs have much, much greater responsibility than battlers, and any rules change or moves change impacts them the most. There will be seven such positions, which will be put on rotation on a regular basis not yet decided. The only difference between a standing Committee Member and a regular user is that SCMs get to vote on any changes proposed in a State of the Game.
Please apply for the following:
Secretary:
Requirements: Three writing samples from battles, with at least two being ref posts. Links to two of your favorite battles where you are not a participant or ref.
Head Team Approver:
Requirements: Links to five approval posts, preferably spread out over time.
Head Referee:
Requirements: Links to five matches you have reffed and a paragraph explaining your general reffing style.
Standing Committee Members:
Requirements: Links to three battles and three matches you have reffed.
In total, 11 Positions are available and will make up the committee. I will not vote, but I will exercise veto power on any proposal beforehand, e.g. I set the slate of votes and the committee members vote on them.
