Anybody want a Heat-CLIPPERS Finals?!

Just watched the Heat-Pacers. The frontal and deny-the-ball defense the Heat put on Hibbert is awesome.

Now that I've heard what Artest said concerning the "i dont shake substitutes hands" along with the rest of the convo, I have to admit I was jumping the gun pretty badly, what he was saying was 100% true and he wasnt trying go out of his way to talk shit or anything

That'd be nice because it would be an easy victory for the Heat lol. I wonder who LeBron would guard; CP3 or Griffin. He'd shut down either one.

I liked what I saw from both teams in IND/MIA.

Miami did a good job of denying and forcing the perimeter players to drive to score. Granger is going to suck this series. He's being guarded by LeBron James, but it's not like they need him anyway.

Hibbert is under some serious pressure. On one hand, I feel like he's their only way of winning this series; on the other hand, he has to guard the basket. He ended the gave with five fouls. They have to do a better job of containing LeBron. They did okay containing Wade because they have multiple guards to throw at him, but LeBron is a different story.

Indiana showed a lot of promise in stopping Wade. So many combo guards to throw and make him work. He's going to have to guard somebody this series, because Chalmers looked pathetic out there.

Hibbert has to be more aggressive. I guess it doesn't help that he's a bit slow-footed, but when he gets the ball, he needs to show some dominance down there.

West is another bright spot, but had early foul trouble in the first half. Battier did an okay job on him but that shouldn't be.

So, yeah, more competitive game to come I guess.

I wonder who LeBron would guard
Neither at least for more than 30 minutes, because they don't play his position.

LeBron pretty much always guards the best player in the playoffs regardless of their position.

Every Pacers starter: 3+ fouls
Lebron and Wade: 1 each -_- (Bosh 0 but out in 16 minutes and all)

Let the favoritism for the Heat at home begin! Although I do like a team winning with 0 threes made, that was pretty funny.

But not for long stretches.

Maybe in the fourth quarter or something but it ain't going to be something for more than 30 minutes. It doesn't matter who he guards in this series.

He is forced to guard Melo. He is forced to guard Pierce.

But he is never forced to guard a point guard for long stretches. He only guarded Rose for final shots, in fact.

Hence why I was surprised on how well he guarded Melo, because he never plays the best player for long stretches throughout the series. Pierce is older; he's easier to stop. As is Iguodala. He's just bigger than him.

Edit: Bosh out indefinitely. Things are going to be interesting.

Pierce easier to stop? lol @ u

also this could be said about any player defensively except for defensive specialists.

In the past two series against Boston, James has dominated that match-up while Pierce has struggled.

What's your point?

He said James will shut down two guys.. but not in the same way as he would shut down Granger or Melo, because he will naturally be matched up with them throughout the series.

So, yeah. I would say that about every player. They save their energy for offense.

If Sixers had won instead of lost that first game you know I would be gloating about Sixers>Heat/Pacers definitely gonna happen blah blah. I even called "important Heat injury" because it is just fate for 1v8 to happen in a lockout year with the Spurs as the 1...unfortunately the Celtics are so good that they do not blow many series once they start going their way...ughhh.

I'm going to preface this with "I KNOW LITERALLY NOTHING ABOUT BASKETBALL. I ONLY WATCH CASUALLY"

That being said, I know people who are friends with the Pierce family, and they've said his knee is really bad. Like going to need serious surgery after the season bad. And in case you haven't been watching, he hasn't been able to elevate enough on his jumpshots to hit with any consistency because of it.

Effectively Paul Pierce is neutered to layups and drawing fouls. So he would be easier to defend at this time.

kbai.

It's time to play some basketball. Don't doubt PP's Bag O' Tricks.

I said if the Sixers won game 1 instead of lost I would be talking shit. No series is determined after one game, although most are decided by 2-0 or 2-1!

heat with no bosh?

let the thunder dynasty begin. kevin durant will be the kobe of this decade. scratch that. the lebron of this decade! russell westbrook will evolve into the next tony parker and james harden will transform into the next robert horry!

lol

(2) Oklahoma City Thunder versus (3) Los Angeles Lakers

This series has been troubling me for some time.

Both sides have valid cases. At first glance, Oklahoma has the perimeter players to absolutely murder guys like Blake and Sessions. Ibaka and Perkins have the defensive prowess to limit both Gasol and Bynum. Their bench will absolutely flourish in this series, too.

On the other side, Los Angeles at least has a scoring frontline. Oklahoma's also had issues in the halfcourt because their bigs are not adept at shooting the 18-20 feet jumpers. Only Ibaka has shown slight consistency and even then, the Thunder aren't going to beat Los Angeles with Ibaka shooting nothing but jumpers.

How have I personally approached this match-up? I told myself in the beginning of the playoffs that depending on how well Los Angeles limited Denver's effectiveness in transition, I would take them over Oklahoma. It would seem they struggled doing this.

They also still have a struggling bench and occasional dry three-point shooting. Not a good sign against Oklahoma, because their athleticism and speed will be a notch above Denver's defensive schemes. I think Los Angeles' bench will thin out most of the series.

Oklahoma did a fantastic job with Dallas' perimeter guys.. who are actually more skilled than Los Angeles' perimeter. I don't see Los Angeles making too many threes either. Of course, they still could, but I have a bad feeling saying that they will.

Then I look at Gasol.. disappearing in random games again. Again Faried? Harrington? You thought those guys were bad? Wait until you see Ibaka, Perkins, and Collison.

There was something about this Los Angeles team that was very disturbing last round. Even if their frontline dominates, someone other than Kobe from the perimeter has to get it going. Los Angeles will have to play some pretty staunch defense to win this series. Do they have it in them to limit Oklahoma's transition prowess?

Oh, and don't underrate the fact that Derek Fisher is now on the other side. Derek Fisher knows all the secrets of how to own his old team. They'll take all they can get.

My rationality for my choice rests in the fact that I feel Oklahoma can play Denver's defensive scheme better. Way better. They've also shown to me some mental strength in the Dallas series.

Oklahoma City in six.

Also yeah, I'll admit that I had LA over OKC in the beginning. Blah blah blah, overrated Lakers etc.
