I recently quit this game and sold everything on ebay for a cool $700 after getting most of my collection stolen at regionals. This format is pretty terrible though, arguably the worst of all time.

icepick, were you on the pojo forums at one point?

I've recently picked it back up for mainly casual play. Looking forward to a fun tele-monarch esque deck against my friends.

Well, I've only played a few matches with this deck, but I think it did pretty good (although the AI in YGO 2009 can suck at times). But here goes (it's a final countdown deck):

Monsters

-Blowback Dragon x3
-Dandylion x1
-Dark Resonator x3
-Gellenduo x3
-Guardian Sphinx x3
-Marshmallon x1
-Neo Spacian Grand Mole x1
-Pengiun Soldier x3
-Plaguespreader Zombie x3
-Shield Wing x3
-Spirit Reaper x1

Spells

-Clock Tower Prison x3
-Final Countdown x3
-Level Limit - Area B x1
-Messenger of Pease x3
-Mystical Space Typhoon x1

Traps

-Gravity Bind x1
-Magic Jammer x2
-Negate Attack x1
-Royal Decree x2
-Seven Tools of the Bandit x1

Total: 43 cards

Extra Deck

Stardust Dragon x3

The logic of the deck is fairly obvious; use Final Countdown early and stall. I think this deck could use some improvement, especially when its biggest enemies are burn decks. Thus I think I should replace Neo-Spacian Grand Mole (since I like never see the use of it) and other things for Des Wombats to remedy this.

Blowback Dragon and Guardian Sphinx is there to clear the field of any threats. BD provides a solution of getting rid of Spells/Traps that are face-up on the field that seem to give me problems, or to destroy face-down Spell/Trap cards to help ensure my safety. Guardian Sphinx can clear the opponent's field of monsters and can really annoy them if they have anything Fusion/Ritual/Synchro/Special effect summoned on the field.

You may be asking why I have Stardust Dragons in there. they're there to prevent my opponent from destroying my side of the field. This could be a problem to summon, but since I have Dark Resonator and Plaguespreader Zombies to help shield my life points as well as being Synchro fodders, this should not be a problem. My whole deck revolves around preventing my opponent from touching me or my monsters, so Stardust Dragon helps fortify my defences if they try to kill my Messenger of Peace, Gravity Bind, etc. Guardian Sphinx is used with Dark Resonator and Blowback Dragon is used with Plaguespreader Zombie for the Synchro Summoning of Stardust Dragon.

Clocktower Prison is there to prevent battle damage, and can really hassle opponents who doesn't use field Spell Cards! If I have Clocktower Prison with at least 4 counters, Des Wombat (which I will add soon), a card that prevents attacking, and Stardust Dragon after Final Countdown is activated, I am good to go.

I know this deck could use improvements, especially since YGO 2009 does not have all the cards currently released, so my resources were somewhat limited. Any comments? Oh, and this deck also hates mill decks, so any solutions to this?

I also have a fairy deck that I'm somewhat proud of. Here it is:

Monsters
-Airknight Parshath x3
-Gellenduo x2
-Honest x2
-Marshmallon x1
-Mask of Darkness x2
-Neo-Parshath, the Sky Paladin x2
-Nimble Momonga x3
-Nova Summoner x3
-Radiant Jeral x3
-Shining Angel x3
-Spirit Reaper x1
-The Agent of Force - Mars x3
-The Agent of Jugment - Saturn x2
-Zeradias, Herald of Heaven x3

Spells
-Field Barrier x2
-Fissure x1
-Heavy Storm x1
-Monster Reborn x1
-Mystical Space Typhoon x1
-The Sanctuary in the Sky x3

Traps
-Magic Cylinder x1
-Magic Jammer x2
-Royal Decree x2
-Sakuretsu Armor x3
-Seven Tools of the Bandit x1
-Torrential Tribute x1

Total cards: 52

The main idea of this deck is to gain a large life point lead and finish the opponent off with Neo-Parshath, the Sky Paladin, The Agent of Force - Mars, or Agent of Judgment - Saturn. How you can potentially to this is like this: play The Sanctuary in the Sky, then suicide Shining Angel/Nova Summoner to summon Airknight Parshath to deal piercing damage. I was thinking of replacing Sakuretsu Armor with Draining Shields to help widen the life point difference (totally forgot about them as I was remaking a deck from a long, long time ago). Field Barrier ensures that my Santuary in the Sky lasts a while before going down.

This deck may seem large, but there are several cards to remedy this. I have 6 monsters that can search for lower-levelled fairies in my deck, which of course provides a shield and more importantly, thins my deck. If The Sanctuary in the Sky is present on the field, then you should have no problem with Shining Angel summoning things in attack position. I also have Nimble Momongas to help thin my deck, and net me life points at the same time. Furthermore, Zeradias, Herald of Heaven searches my deck for my key field spell card, and on a minor side note, Airknight Parshath and the Neo-Parshath lets me draw a card whenever it deals damage (note that they have piercing effects), so that also helps me get what I want.

Oh, and Honest provides a good shield when special summoned by Nova Summoner when The Sanctuary in the Sky is absent, and its effect lets me return it to my hand. Furthermore, it lets me take down stronger monsters by adding their attack to my Light-type monster (which is the majority in my deck), so it's basically my monster directly attacking my opponent after calculating (assuming that no other cards that modify attack points are activated at this time).

A minor thing to note is that when The Sanctuary in the Sky is present, I can use Radiant Jeral as tribute/discard cost fodders to net me life points.

Comments are very much appreciated.
Sadly, nobody commented on my decks... T_T

It doesnt seem like your deck has any focus at all. Seems like you're trying to do too much in one deck. I dont see many win conditions. I suggest reading up on Pojo.com and duelistgroundz.com and you'll get a good idea how to build decks.

I fixed the Junk Warrior.. I always get those mixed up lol.

I'm really interested in how Aqua Dolphin goes. I see why, but it could be either awesome or really crap.

Not that that's a bad deck, but now a days 50% of those cards are banned. Not that my friends abide strictly by those rules during friedly play, but koniami decided that they weren't tourny legal.

The main objective is to get geartown out and dump it for good cards (engineer, dragon..) will need power bond and some more Gadjiltrons for it to run smoothly. And maybe replace the gadgets with giant rats.
What do you think?

Have you guys heard of the supposed upcoming ban list changes?

http://shriek.twoday.net/stories/5878076/

I'd paste the info directly, but shriek doesn't allow highlighting and I CBA to find another site or a way around it right now.

Anyways, if this list is true, I may just have to bring back my Freed Control deck (hello x3 D.D. Warrior Lady), build a Spellcaster deck (hello x3 Breaker and x2 Chaos Sorcerer), and bring myself partially out of retirement. Heck, it seems even Gadgets might be able to make a slight comeback, now that Fissure is back at 3 and they have x2 Ultimate Offering to work with. Even though Summoner Priest would be at 1, they could probably use that as well.

Wow, looks like anti-meta is going to have a field day with this banlist. I might just have to wipe the dust off my Gadget deck. Breaker + DDWL + Fissure all at 3 makes me very happy :D

The switch of Reborn and CotH seems... interesting. Not sure how I feel yet, but I'm hoping Jinzo being unlimited won't be a problem...

Bottomless semied is weird. One of the few things affecting me playing anti-meta (that and Gale being limited, but I expected that). And I'm not rich enough for Solems so that didn't affect me either!

For the most part I'm pretty happy with the list. Lightsworn seems like it'll dominate, but I can usually handle that :P

Ima take a break on Glads for a little bit, probably get back into them when regionals start over here but heres a list I made.

needs work but I;m liking this idea.

This seems obvious but maybe you could even out the monsters with the S/T, like getting rid of the one solemn. Its not so effective if you only use one. Otherwise it looks pretty cool.

I tested a normal deck on YVD against some glads.
They're fun. I don't know how they'll manage against LS or Vayu turbo though.

I still play, but the banlist is fucking rediculous. The only 2 cards that I think was rightfully banned was Change of Heart and Rageki

alright here are some tips

you need to define your strategy. You say its to overpower your opponent. This deck has a lot of bad top decks including some bad deck choices. Most of your monsters need to replace themselves. Meaning, that when they are summoned they do something. For example : Chain Saw Insect, Vorse Rider.. Normal Monsters in general.. dont provide you any advantage whatsoever. Breaker does something as it can potentially destroy a Magic or Trap on the field. The Commanders need a Teleport too if you're going to run them as well. Just little additions like that will help you in the long run.

heres an idea for you, run with it if you wish, this will make your deck much smoother. This might not be common or even a main meta deck but this will help you learn the game a bit.

22
Thestalos x2
Raiza x3
Caius x2
Cyber Dragon
The Tricky
Psychic Commander
Krebons
Breaker x3
Snipe Hunter
Gravekeeper's Spy x3
Spirit Reaper
Sangan
Treeborn Frog
Gorz

Magics 13

Allure of Darkness x2
Emergency Teleport
Soul Exchange x3
Brain Control
Mystical Space Typhoon
Book of Moon x3
Lightning Vortex
Heavy Storm

Traps 6

Mirror Force
Torrential Tribute
Trapdust Shoot
Call of the Haunted
Bottomless Trap Hole x2

now this isnt the best list in the world.. it could be better and testing will show you that. First lesson... every card you play in your deck should give you some type of advantage. In other words, once the card is used it better do something for you. For the most part, other than maybe Psychic Commander.. everythign can be a 1 for 1 at the very least. If you need any more help lmk by PM or threw here.. you might want to take another direction and we'll figure it out.

I'm starting to get back at Yu-Gi-Oh and I have to say I really enjoy opening booster packs (doesn't everybody?)

Anyway I made a speed synchro deck, after what I read from other forums, they say that it can't be used competitively, but I still really enjoy it. Anyway, here it is :

Monsters (23)

Junk Synchron x3
Nitro Synchron x2
Magna Drago
Krebon
Psychic Commander
Troop Dragon x3
Cyber Dragon
The Tricky x2 (trying to get three)
Quillbolt Hedgehog (trying to get three aswell)
Sangan
Marshmallon
Renge, Gatekeeper of the Dark World
Big Shield Gardna
Ancient Gear Golem
Ancien Gear Gadjiltron Dragon
Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Chimera
Ancient Gear Beast

Spells (9)

Geartown (trying to get another one)
Terraforming (will replace by another Geartown if I have one)
Double Summon x2
Heavy Storm
Lightning Vortex
Swords Of Revealing Light
Brain Control
Pot Of Avarice

Traps (8)

Bottomless Trap Hole (trying to get at least one more)
Sakuretsu Armor
Limit Reverse
Stronghold The Moving Fortress
Threatening Roar
Wobaku x2
Call Of The Haunted

Extra Deck (12(Trying to get more))

Junk Warrior x 3
Nitro Warrior x 3
Gaia Knight, The Force Of Earth x2
Colossal Fighter x2
Stardust Dragon
Black Rose Dragon

A lot of times I get at least one Troop Dragon and a Junk Synchron in my hand, what I do is I let Troop Dragon die, Special Summon another one. Then in my next turn I bring Junk Synchron to bring back the dead one, bring out Junk Warrior and I get a boost of 700 attack.
I know that the slapped in Ancient Gear monsters are kinda weird, but if I can't synchro summon due to not having the appropriate amount of stars, I'll get these guys to back me up for a bit.

And Black Rose nuking while I have Geartown is amazing. I could understand if they just limited Black Rose because of that.

Oh and just a quick question.
If I were to use Pot Of Avarice, can I bring back a Synchro Monster? If yes, does he go to the Deck or Extra Deck? Does it count to the number of monsters I have to bring in (according to the card's codition)?

I'm planning on getting back into the game as soon as the next set (Stardust Overdrive I believe) comes out. A friend of mine told me about the Fortune Lady cards, and the deck intrigues me very much.

Wow they have a YGO section on Smogon.
Any of you guys a member of TCGplayer?

I'm looking at these decks guys, and they all need some serious work. I don't have time to fix them all. But it appears you are all posting casual decks, because I'm not seeing anything decent like Lightsworn, Blackwings, Gladiator Beasts or STUN. But I'm a big supporter of fun and original decks. So here's one I want your opinions on:

Monsters: 20
2x Frost and Flame Dragon
1x Dragon Ice
3x Mother Grizzly
3x Hydrogeddon
1x Skreech
1x Powered Tuner
3x Blizzard Dragon
3x Masked Dragon
2x UFO Turtle
1x Magna Drago

Spells: 15
2x Foolish Burial
3x Burden of the Mighty
3x My Body as a Shield
3x Book of Moon
1x Lightning Vortex
1x Heavy Storm
1x Mystical Space Typhoon
1x Smashing Ground

Traps: 6
3x Magic Drain
1x Torrential Tribute
3x Trap Hole / PWWB / Destruction Jammer

Trap Hole or PWWB or Destruction Jammer?

Hey I recognize your name from TCGplayer, although I haven't been on there since I stopped playing the game a little while ago. I ran STUN, but I haven't upgraded it for the new boosters or anything.

I used to play and am currently starting to get back in the game. However having nobody to play with is a problem.

Here's the deck I used to run

Monsters

Armed Dragon lvl 3 x2
Armed Dragon lvl 5 x2
Armed Dragon lvl 7 x1
Horus the Black Flame Dragon lvl 4 x2
Horus the Black Flame Dragon lvl 6 x2
Horus the Black Flame Dragon lvl 8 x1
Masked Dragon x3
Troop Dragon x3
Luster Dragon x3
Twin-Headed Behemoth x1
Horus' Servant x1

Spells

Stamping Destruction x3
Level Up! x2
The Graveyard in the Fourth Dimension x2
Mystical Space Typhoon x1
Heavy Storm x1
Creature Swap x1
Lightning Vortex x1
Fissure x1
Smashing Ground x1

Traps

Dragon's Rage x1
Torrential Tribute x1
Mirror Force x1
Sakuretsu Armor x1
Bottomless Trap Hole x1
Adhesion Trap Hole x1

Basically this deck revolved around the Armed Dragons and the Horus the Black Flame Dragons. Since they are both level monster families, i figured that they could work well together. One thing I loved to do was draw a masked dragon on my first turn because then that meaned I could summon it and when my opponent attacked me, bring out masked dragon lvl 3 which meant that by my next standby phase I had a masked dragon lvl 5 ready to do some damage. Then I would destroy the opponent's monster and have an Armed Dragon lvl 7 on the field in a span of two turns.

Cool. Yeah I'm a Moderator there.

You should upgrade your STUN to "Rock STUN" using Koa'ki Meiru Guardian (which is a common) and other Rock monsters like Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo, Legendary Jujitsu Master and Grand Mole. Plus Thunder King Rai-Ohs of course.
