WWE SmackDown V.S. RAW 2008...XBOX 360 or PS3?!

Yeah, well, as most of you WWE fans know, SmackDown '08 is finally out! With its back-breaking, table smashing, and bone grinding action, it has all the features that we love from the WWE games! However, here is my question:

- For what system is this game the best on?

This game is on six, yes six, systems! The PS2, PS3, PSP, XBOX 360, Nintendo Wii, and the Nintendo DS. We can easily eliminate the DS and PSP, as they are good, but just cannot compete with the other systems.

In my case, its all down to the XBOX 360 and PS3...but which is better? My friend, who owns both (well, he only owns the PS3, but his cousin who lives in the upstairs apartment owns an XBOX 360, so he has easy access to both) tells me that the PS3 has the upper-hand on graphics, but has very very slow and sluggish game-play. He also said that the 360 is not much behind in the graphics, and yet manages to keep up in the nice fast action.

In fact, my friend disliked the PS3 version of '08 that was about to return it and purchase a PS2 version instead...to him, sacrificing the graphics was worth it when being given proper gameplay instead..

But now, I want YOUR opinion! Vote now! =D

Darn, I accidently forgot to add a poll. Sorry.

If the PS3 version is sluggish and the 360 version isn't, then why are you even doing this poll? It's not even opinion. It's obviously the 360 version on top.

PS2 is the best version overall due to faster load screens and gameplay, but if you want a pretty looking game, I'd go with 360.

Nice...see I don't even have a 360 or PS3 yet lol...

The problem with the 360 IMO is that there are barely any games I can think of for it to buy...Halo, Gears of War, and SDVR2008? PS3 on the other hand has all the games from the past that I like...but still thinking =D

Has anyone here played the Wii version? I don't own PS3 or 360, so I'm thinking of purchasing the Wii version. I've played it on 360 at a friend's though and that's what I've been used to since SvR 2007.
I was wondering mostly how it plays/feels using the Wii-mote, if the gameplay is any good. Also, I read you couldn't run in-ring. Is this true?

In the 360 version you can run ingame :P

now I have a question? Is it normal that when you do a tag team match with a buddy and then in the cage. When one of the other opponents climbs out, you can't do anything anymore?

I meant running inside the ring on the Wii version.

You mean a Steel Cage Tag Team Match? I think so, first one setting both feet in the ground wins the mach for their respective team, just like in a normal tag match for whoever gets the pin. Should be the same for the game. I hardly played these, but I'm pretty sure it's like that.

I only win when I and my team mate both get out of the cage, but when one of the opponents team's fighters gets out of the cage player one can't move anymore, but player two still can

and this wasn't meant to be a respond to you kod, I'm sorry if you understood it wrong :(

yoko, just like u I own a ps2, and probablu now I'll buy an Xbox... why?
well... new games, better online, ace combat XD Gears of war, and for sure... until now I saw a lot of title with aa better graphics on the 360 instead of the ps3... on the other side, ps3 is a blue ray device, and is more stable (until we will see the xbox jasper...) it's an hard choice, but I like the xbox for this time, and I'm pretty sure (if the price of the ps3 don't get very lovered after Christmas,) to buy it

mmm don't know your prices but here u can found a 360 from 250/300€, a playstation never under 400€... but well I'm thinking about ps3 again, since is more complite... as I've said, I'll wait some month (1 or 2) see how they can offert in games, and decide

lol And I've buoght the 360 and I'll have it at home in a couple of days :D
Well,I hope both of us could be satisfaied of our choices...

Apparently, it sucks, with every move just a waggle of the wii rewmote... and theres no running, as you said.

I got the game now. I don't mind the controls much, but they feel too simple compared to the 360 version. What pissed me off the most is that there're no Hell in a Cell, TLC, Steel Cage, Elimination Chamber, etc, matches available to play in and the game has a lot less content overall compared to other versions. I still get to play it on 360, so it's fine.
If anyone out there wants this game for Wii, I'd consider waiting for next year, hoping for something better. Right now, I don't think the Wii version is worth the money.

^ Exactly, the Wii version, to put it simply, only has normal matches. No Steel Cage, Elimination, Tag Team, Hell in a Cell, Tables/Ladders/Chairs, as you said. Its due to the lack of controllers >.>

I still haven't purchased a system, though I think I'm leaning more and more towards PS3. Ratchet and Clank is just too good to miss out on, and I'm always lovin' the Spyro games [though the new company doesn't make them as good as Insomniac).

i am not a big fan of the wrestling games... mainly because i do not understand them..., but ive played the 360.. is really smooth and fluid... i havent seen the ps3 one yet though

360. mainly because if you have a 360 and this game, you can also but Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3;)

the graphics are kinda a bit cheesy, but its a wrestling game so w/e. The main problem with the game for me is the lack of simplicity and moves from a game like Day of Reckoning 2 for the cube. No crippler crossface, no F-5, Three Amigos, Standing headbutt, and much much more.

I'd say the graphics are nice.... but the horrendous commentary thats been recycled for the most part over the past few years on top of just being bad like I mentioned! kinda ruins the game, unless you play with the sound off. The commentator AI isn't even good, example being: Use Bobby's Lashley's Spear finisher and JR will yell "Oh my god! did you see that DDT!?" half of the time.

No kidding...I noticed the commentary problem as well. And it gets repetitive seeing the same exact commentary in every game.

I didn't buy 2008 yet, since I'm still considering buying a new system, so I wouldn't want to buy it for the PS2, and then end up buying it again when I get a PS3/360.
