Well, after lurking on Smogon for the better part of three years and finally joining a few months ago, I feel it's finally time to post my team. While it's far from the best team evar, it wins its far share of matches and is always fun to play with.
**Note** I am a complete EV nooblet, so any and all suggestions are GREATLY appreciated.
Empoleon @ leftovers
Modest
EVs: 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Sp. Def, 4 Spd.
-Surf
-Stealth Rock
-Ice Beam
-Grass Knot
Empoleon is mostly there to use Rocks on his very first turn, but occasionally gets a K.O. or two with a very respectable special attack stat. Also an ersatz special wall.
Hippowdon @ leftovers
Adamant
Evs: 252 H.P., 252 Def., 4 Atk.
-Slack Off
-Ice Fang
-Earthquake
-Yawn
Since Empoleon lays down Rocks, I have Yawn on Hippo' for pseudo-hazing options. As far as I know, this is more or less standard.
Cacturne @ focus sash
Adamant
EVs: 252 Atk., 252 Spd., 4 H.P.
-Counter
-Sucker Punch
-Seed Bomb
-Swords Dance
I've been using this fella since Diamond and Pearl first hit, and thought I had quite an interesting Poke here. I was rather dismayed to find that this set is on the analysis page, so I'm not as creative as I thought.
Dragonite @ Life Orb
Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk., 252 Spd., 4 Sp. Atk.
-Dragon Dance
-Earthquake
-Outrage
-Fire Blast
I'm on the fence with Dragonite. I've been toying with the idea of replacing Dragon Dance with Ice Beam and making him a Choice Scarf sweeper. I daresay that a Jolly Dragonite with at least decent speed EVs can outrun Garchomp, although I could easily be mistaken.
Gallade @ choice scarf
Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk., 252 Spd., 4 H.P.
-Psycho Cut
- Ice Punch
-Will o' Wisp/ Hypnosis/ Thunder Punch
-Close Combat
Obviously, I'm not quite sure what to do with Gallade's third move. I guess once an opponent guesses that Gallade has a scarf, (s)he might walk into a W.O.W. or Hypnosis. But I don't really have a Gyarados counter (although Gallase isn't really one either) and Thunder Punch could come in very handy.
And finally...
Charizard "Trogdor" @ Life Orb
EVs: 252 Atk., 252 Sp. Atk., 4 Spd.
-Earthquake
-Flamethrower
-Air Slash
-Solar Beam
Ehh... Not great, I know, but I like the set. Solar Beam on the switch and for the off chance that it's a Sunny Day. Of all the Pokes on the team, I'd be most likely to swap him.
Thank you for your time in reading this, my first ever RMT!
P.S. Can anyone tell me how to add pics from Pokemon Elite for my next RMT one day? If necessary, I can ask in Simple Question/ Simple Answer.
