Weird/Rare/stuck up Sports

Do you play any weird/rare/stuck up sports at your school/outside school/work/outside time/free time? Examples are that sport with the horses and is kind of golf-like... Stuck up sports I mean when I say that they are about rich people but you know... not stuck up but higher class than regular. This category includes fencing, archery, golf, tennis, you know...

So I went to an archery range with my cousins last week and it was really interesting and high class. ^__^; I'm not saying its only for rich people but rich people mainly play it.

EDIT: Oh and that horse game I was talking about is called crochet I think.

im sure you mean polo.

and theres no sense in discussing stuck up sports, because theres no such thing. they are stuck up people who play sports, and those kind of people play all sports.

^ I know but sometimes only rich people play I mean the majority... not all people are stuck up im not saying that and being rich doesnt mean you are stuck up.

And yes I mean polo thanks!

I ride Trials (Observed Mototcycle Trials).

This falls more under the Weird/Rare then stuck up lol. Everyone who rides in WA (~60 people for big events) are really nice guys. It's a lot of fun, with a bit of speed and danger thrown into the mix for good measure.

I ride a Montessa Cota 315R, for those who know what I'm talking about. I'm in C grade at the moment, but the wet weathers making it a tad hard for me :(

ehh, i do archery and i can tell you that where i live, the people who are up there at the range dont seem to be the rich stuck up kind. most of them are the hunters who dont mind roughing it in the woods for a week with nothing but their bow, some arrows and a knife.

I love golf, but it's never heard of being rare. It's usually played by guys who have nothing better to do, such as a job, and so is usually associated with being boring and snobbish.

Golf is the world's most misunderstood sport. Apart from skating, which is attributed to punk assholes by people who don't understand the culture behind it (and it's also something I like to do).

So I'm stuck up because I play tennis? I play competitive, but all the kids I play with (bar a couple) are really nice, and down to earth.

I ski race competitively. You have to be pretty wealthy i guees to do it. The equipment alone costs alot. It isnt a stuck up sport though. Standing in freezing cold in just a skintight suit is nothing to brag about.

Yeah I really don't get this thread either.

I suppose I see what you mean by polo being "snobby" solely because those who play it almost always come from wealth. Golf is another sport that requires a good deal of green to play, between country club memberships/clubs/driving range practice/etc. Of course, hockey is INCREDIBLY expensive to play, but you don't hear anyone calling it snobby.

It's all subjective.

YOU DID NOT JUST SAY THAT! I play a LOT of tennis, and I can assure you that all the people I have met in my lessons/matches are by far friendlier than those of which that play football/other popular sports. People that play tennis are not always stuck up/rich.(most of which are usually just mid-class like I myself) I'm middle class, and I play tennis. It's the only sport that I play.

I used to be into Archery for a long time, played Golf for a while, I played Tennis as much as Archery, and I can assure you I'm not stuck up.

Edit: ...actually, I remember I left Archery because of the stuck-up, sorta-wealthy kids =/ So yeah.God those kids were annoying.

lol everyone plays tennis
i think water polo is up there but it's so incredibly violent

a lot of young tennis players are assholes though. especially clay players, the think they're so cool

I haven't seen any mention of rock climbing. It's not full of stuck up people at all, and would be considered more of a rare sport than anything else. The competitive scene is really cool; I used to be very good for my age when I was around 13 years old and was taking first at a few big competitions (usually in the adult category) and started to make a name for myself when I stopped climbing because I got tired/bored/burnt out. I'm getting back into it, though, as it's a lot of fun and I have a lot more time and money than before.

I love how in Track and Field there are almost different levels of how "high up" you are, with distance runners being at the bottom (everybody who has never run distance laughs) and vaulters at the top. I both run and vault :P.
