For the record I agree with many of your concerns and Wayne Bradierest is already set to address each one of them.i would just like to say that the role balance seemed really odd in this game, i'm not sure if it was balanced by all of the "weaker" roles needing each other dead, and same with stronger, but i doubt that was the case. for example, i felt like my role was very weak. even if i gave an item to an enemy of mine every cycle, they could then give it to one of their enemies, which probably doesn't benefit me at all. It is also hard to fake my role because once someone gets the SANDS, they will probably know it comes from MR. SANDSMAN. Compare to someone like Apollo Justice who could do a shitload of different stuff, or any of the self protective roles, or any damage increasing role like vonfiedler's or askas (i think, might remember wrong). I'm not really complaining because I didn't really care about this game, and I know that more than just what role you get affects the outcome of the game.
Some reasons I don't like these types of games:
That being said, I do appreciate Walrein and Yeti for hosting since they are good at hosting so frequently.
- Getting random targeted early in a FFA game is the worst feeling in the world. In a team game, it still sucks, but at least your team can go on to win. You at least have a rooting interest to help you spectate the game after you died. If you are like StevenSnype and die c1 in this game, do you really care who wins? I think future FFA games might want some type of system where you need to PM the host with information about your target, and your attacks only succeed if the information is correct.
- The game feels very basic in the wrong way in my opinion. I don't really like the information trading in this type of game because it is so boring and basic. In a game like Pokemon TCG Mafia or Fire Emblem 2 Mafia, you would have to talk to people to trade items, which I felt was a nice kickstart to the information trading. I think it was somewhat flawed in those cases too (the fact that the groups in Pokemon TCG Mafia were based on how much you evolve might've made it too easy to figure out people's groups based on their trade talks)
- The games blend together imo. We've had at least 5 of these types of FFAs and I can barely remember which is which. I can get that some people haven't played the previous ones or want to play it again, but playing what feels like the same mafia several times is not that enjoyable to me.
thanks for describing the entire gameall of whom could've won if they just hadn't died before their enemies died
To be honest I don't see a huge difference between rand-dying N1 in an FFA and dying in a team game where you can't communicate with your team posthumously (see: being a villager, or non-unified multifaction games). In both cases you can no longer participate in the game, it's just in team games you can randomly win in the end. But does winning really mean much when you didn't get to participate for 80% of the game anyway? Like, I died N1 in MP2 and it doesn't mean a lick to me that my faction won or lost because I didn't really get to play.

Just want to put it out there that I was never on US's sheet but still was able to get the full circle - if I had been enemies with UncleSam this game would have gone quite differently, as there would have been another person with All Of The Info in the game, but alas we were friends WC wise, so my information was actually almost completely irrelevant in the end. Oh well.Anyway I swapped win cons with a little over half the game and, after being told by aska that he was pretty sure he had a functional enemy circle (which turns out, after no meager amount of thought, to be a linear transformation of my own enemy circle), I decided to spend an hour or two putting everything together; with the information I had, I was just able to do it by setting up most of the circle with deadlies, checking for secondary enemy patterns, and using those to fill in the remaining gaps.
vonFiedler It is 100% my fault that you lost, but it was not my intention :(However, I think it was at this point the anti-US alliance fucked up pretty hard by....all voting. Like every single one. This gave us a virtual who's-who hitlist to run through that were virtually all hard enemies of ours. So I basically put all of my collaborators on various anti-US voters in one manner or another, but as many anti-Kiryuin people on von as possible so that aska's alias wouldn't be leaked if von did decide to turn on him (aska was never meant to learn of this since he had accidentally leaked von's alias and felt terrible about it, but apparently word spread from someone and he felt bad anyway rip. It's a pity because aska was really trying to be trustworthy this game but he got super paranoid von was stabbing him fsr and requested a hook on InstakillWolf C1, a request he later retracted but I put the pieces together pretty easily). My alliance went on NoOralSexWolf with a few others (like epicsnorlax) and I think we also hit InstakillWolf to ensure both kills were certain.
gg Sam, thanks for figuring out everyone's alias for me lolaskaninjask was great to work with, if a little jumpy at times. It took fucking forever to find Sly Cooper, and he took a ton of damage, but he definitely deserved this win and was extremely helpful to me the entire game without demanding a ton in return, so I'm very glad I was ultimately able to help him get over the hump of an FFA game and finish this one in the winners' column!
Flyhn gave me your info on cycle 2 then I used my info hook on you to confirm it. I intended to either blackmail you or make you my endgame mates, but never got around to actually do any of that. Then you just went and won on your own.Something I'm still curious about is whether you actually believed my claims Cancerous . Considering how early my 3 died it should've been obvious I was lying and I was constantly expecting you to turn around and kill me, hahaha.
