Nat Dex [UU] Mega Gallade

Gallade-Mega @ Galladite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 124 HP / 132 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Drain Punch
- Psycho Cut
- Knock Off

Mega Gallade slices through the competition! The bulk investment combined with Drain Punch allows it to find more opportunities to break down foes with precision. Drain Punch is outstanding because it takes advantage of the high HP stats of targets such as Ting-Lu, Excadrill, and Hydrapple. Psycho Cut slashes through many common checks to Fighting-types such as Mega Venusaur and Clefable. Knock Off covers Aegislash and Slowbro while removing items from important defensive targets such as Celesteela, with 132 Attack EVs also allowing it to OHKO these Pokemon at +4. Given this variant's more methodical approach to wallbreaking, Mega Gallade appreciates slower pivots such as Scizor, Rotom-W, and Blissey that help manage its HP by providing safe entry into Iron Moth and Excadrill, whereas faster teammates like Iron Boulder pressure them early on so Mega Gallade can find setup opportunities. Additionally, clerics such as Blissey and Clefable as well as Healing Wish support from Choice Scarf Enamorus on more offensive teams ensure Mega Gallade doesn't have to fear status aliments from the likes of Rotom-W, Gastrodon, and Mega Venusaur when attempting to cut through them.

Mega Gallade slices through the competition! The bulk investment combined with Drain Punch allows it to consistently target opponents with precision. I like the flair but "consistently target opponents with precision" is a bit hard to understand, especially for new players. Something along the lines of 'provides it with a shocking amount of longevity' could work better. Also, while I'm aware the standards for Social Media Spotlights are looser than analyses, I'm pretty sure "opponents" still always means the opposing trainer, not opposing Pokemon, which should be "foe". Finally, you should mention what exactly the EVs do here. Drain Punch is especially outstanding because it takes advantage of the high HP stats behind many of its targets such as Ting-Lu, Excadrill, and Hydrapple. Psycho Cut slams You could probably do "slashes through" or something for extra flair here many common Fighting-type checks No clue if this is wrong GP-wise but someone could read "common Fighting-type checks" as ' common Fighting-type checks to Mega Gallade". Something like " common checks to Fighting-types" works better imo such as Mega Venusaur and Clefable. Knock Off provides coverage against Aegislash and Slowbro while also removing the items of important defensive targets such as Celesteela. Given this variant's more methodical approach to wallbreaking, Mega Gallade appreciates the support of slower pivots such as Scizor, Rotom-W, and Blissey, which can help manage its HP by providing safe entry into targets such as Iron Moth Danbear mentioned Moth not being a great mu on Discord, but imo it's fine but you can change it if you want and Excadrill. Additionally, clerics such as the aforementioned Blissey and Clefable can ensure Mega Gallade doesn't have to fear status aliments from the likes of Rotom-W, Gastrodon, and Mega Venusaur when attempting to trade with cut through them. As a wallbreaker I think Mega Gallade wants to break through them.

The suggested character count limit for spotlights doesn't count spaces, so the actual character count for this spotlight is a lot lower. You can probably fit in one or two more sentences to beef the spotlight up a bit if you want—ping me if you decide to do that so that I can take a quick look at them.
