Base Stats: 75 HP / 98 Atk / 70 Def / 114 SpA / 70 SpD / 75 Spe (502 Total)

Abilities: Punk Rock | Plus | Technician

Type: Electric / Poison

Notable Moves:
- Nuzzle
- Taunt
- Toxic
- Discharge
- Overdrive
- Boomburst
- Shift Gear
- Trailblaze
- Volt Switch
- Snarl
- Fire Punch
- Drain Punch
- Toxic Spikes
- Gunk Shot
- Sludge Bomb
- Tera Blast

Pros:
- Base 114 Special Attack in conjunction with Punk Rock allows Toxtricity to hit very hard.
- Boomburst is incredibly powerful and can now become STAB with a Normal Tera type.
- Overdrive and Sludge Bomb are strong, reliable STABs.
- Shift Gear can be used to attempt a sweep.
- Toxtricity has some interesting utility options with moves such as Nuzzle and Toxic Spikes.
- Technician is arguably usable but generally outclassed in damage.

Cons:
- Electric / Poison is not exceptional offensively or defensively and is terribly weak to Ground in particular.
- Base 75 speed is not exceptional and other powerful threats will easily outrun it.
- Toxtricity does not have good bulk or recovery, meaning its longevity is poor.
- It lacks the raw power to make the most of a mixed sets.
- Toxtricity cannot boost its Special Attack without holding Throat Spray.

Terastallize Potential:

- A Normal Tera type is Toxtricity's biggest selling point in SV, giving it STAB Boomburst to hit brutally hard.
- An Ice Tera type synergizes well with Toxtricity's Electric STAB.

Potential Sets:

Choice Specs

Toxtricity @ Choice Specs
Ability: Punk Rock
Tera Type: Normal / Ice
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest / Timid Nature
- Overdrive
- Sludge Bomb
- Boomburst
- Volt Switch / Snarl / Tera Blast

"STAB Boomburst go brrrrr". Specs Toxtricity's role is to Terastallize immediately and overwhelm opponents with its immensely strong Boomburst. Alternatively, an Ice Tera type can be selected to trade power for better coverage.

Shift Gear

Toxtricity @ Life Orb / Throat Spray
Ability: Punk Rock
Tera Type: Normal / Ice
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Shift Gear
- Boomburst
- Overdrive
- Drain Punch / Fire Punch / Tera Blast

Shift Gear enables Toxtricity to outrun the entire unboosted meta and tear apart fast, frail teams. It is vulnerable to priority and struggles against bulky opponents, however.

Other Options:
- Maybe Technician sets could be used? Not much of a point though.
- Toxic Spikes or Nuzzle could be used on Specs sets to take advantage of forced switches.

Overall:

Toxtricity is a decent mon that can harass teams with its incredibly strong Boomburst. Its unimpressive speed and general frailty hold it back, however. I do not expect it to be a good option in OU but it's potentially usable and will be a solid threat in lower tiers.

I remember in the pre release threads when people were talking about how terra normal overdrive will be the next coming of Jesus christ.

But honestly, if we are spamming normal moves, maushold is probably a better pokemon

The underwhelming speed w/o Shift Gear and general lack of bulk/survivability (especially with Gen 9 being full of priority at least as of now) really hurt this guy. Normal Tera Specs Boomburst is very interesting and powerful in a vacuum, but it's lack of super effectiveness means a team with SpDef tanks, hazards chip + priority, or something like Scarf Great Tusks to revenge kill really make this guy never more than decent/niche.

Toxtricity gets eaten alive in this metagame. Its lack of speed, and useful resistances mean it usually barely lasts a turn or two on the field before being koed. It's move coverage is also lacking has a very difficult time hitting Dragapult and ground types outside of Terablast. Iron Treads is also the bane of this things existence
