  • Tornadus takes advantage of a combination of Prankster, to enable Tornadus to set nearly uncontested speed control. This allows it to ensure that its teammates can move first and remove or cripple threats before they can move.
  • Bleakwind Storm is Tornadus' STAB option, and allows Tornadus to take on an offensive presence, even after using up all of its support moves.
  • Taunt is the best option, as it can disrupt the opponents ability to use status moves, effectively crippling support options and ameliorating the risk of an opponent setting up or inflicting status. However, priority Rain Dance and Sunny Day can be a strong option for teams that are more weather dependent, and can be beneficial for teams that are afraid of weather by providing the ability to reverse the opponent's weather.
  • Protect allows Tornadus to survive an attack that can potentially KO it, or delay setting up Tailwind. This can be particularly useful in Tailwind mirrors, as setting Tailwind a turn later can allow for an extra turn where you have Tailwind and the opponent doesn't. If needed, this slot can be used for weather setting, but losing Protect can make it significantly more difficult for Tornadus to set Tailwind multiple times throughout the match.
  • Covert Cloak allows Tornadus to safely set up Tailwind against Fake Out users such as Rillaboom and Incineroar. Note that Covert Cloak and Tera Ghost should not be used together since they effectively do the same thing. Sitrus Berry can be used to boost Tornadus' long term survivability, allowing it to set Tailwind multiple times per match.
  • Tera Steel is an excellent defensive type, and boosts Tornadus' survivability by giving it a resistance to lethal Ice-type attacks from Chien-Pao and Kyurem as well as common attacks from Pokemon like Gholdengo, Tornadus, Dragonite, and Glimmora. On the other hand, Tera Ghost and Tera Dark both prevent opponents from disrupting Tornadus' support options by blocking Fake Out or Prankster Taunt, respectively.
  • Tornadus' bulk allows it to survive significantly more than the other Prankster Tailwind setters. Tornadus needs to maximize it's physical defenses in order to survive a Wild Charge from AV Iron Hands without needing to burn it's Tera. Physical bulk also allows Tornadus to set Tailwind multiple times per game, and allows it to survive physical priority moves that can outspeed and prevent Tailwind, such as Dragonite's Extremespeed.
  • Tornadus pairs best with offensive threats that with middling speed. Pokemon such as Gholdengo and Regidrago can take advantage of the boosted speed to outspeed major threats such as opposing Landorus or Chien Pao.

This allows it to ensure that its teammates can move first and remove or cripple threats. before they can move. this sentence can be made into an overview if you want and focus on generally how it has a strong utility kit with a ton of options etc.
  • we should either follow the moveset order or change it so bleakwind is here or moved down in the set above imo

Note that Covert Cloak and Tera Ghost should not be used together since they effectively do the same thing. while this is true in some senses, cloak is much less opportunity cost than spending tera and that's why it's the preferred item, can do a bit more here to illustrate this Sitrus Berry can be used to boost Tornadus' long term survivability, allowing it to set Tailwind multiple times per match.
  • Tornadus' bulk allows it to survive significantly more more what? than the other Prankster Tailwind setters. This set takes full advantage of Tornadus' bulk by allowing it to survive a Power Gem from Timid Glimmora, I think that since meteor beam is the new thing we might need to find a different mention, can have a longer discussion over discord just ping me and dumping the rest into defense.
  • Tornadus pairs best with offensive threats that can remove threats quickly by moving first. Fast Pokemon like Flutter Mane and Deoxys Attack enjoy being able to outspeed Scarfed Pokemon and move first in the mirror match, where as offensive threats that are slower such as Chi Yu and Gholdengo can take advantage of the boosted speed to outspeed major threats. this is a little vague, I'd like to see an example of a scarfed mon it can outspeed, same goes for chi/gho. I think concrete examples are quite helpful in this sense

info on why tera dark/steel are good would be useful to have, particularly dark on this set due to it not being invested in speed at all and having a tough time with the torn mirror if opposing taunt

  • Maybe a stylistic choice, but I like having an intro sentence that encapsulates the Pokemon. Something like "Tornadus is the premier Tailwind setter in the meta thanks to the combination of Prankster, good base stats, and offensive presence." Optional add tho. If needed, this slot can be used for weather setting as well, but losing Protect can make it significantly more difficult for Tornadus to survive to set Tailwind multiple times throughout the match.

I think this change makes it a little more clear since the overall utility of Cloak is Tailwind against Rilla/Incin at any point of the game. Note that Covert Cloak and Tera Ghost should not be used together since they effectively do the same thing. Sitrus Berry can be used to boost Tornadus's long term survivability, allowing it to set Tailwind multiple times per match.
  • Tera Ghost and Tera Dark both prevent opponents from disrupting Tornadus's support options by blocking Fake Out or by blocking Prankster Taunt, respectively. Mention that Tera Ghost blocks Espeed. Tera Steel, on the other hand is an excellent defensive type, and boosts Tornadus's survivability by giving it a resistance to Ice-types such as and Electric- types such as Raging Bolt and Chien-Pao. I get what you're saying here tho, it loses the electric-weakness, but since this can be applied to all the other Tera types, it's not worth mentioning. Instead, I think it's important to highlight the general resistances to common attacks it gains by being a steel type. Maybe something like "giving it a resistance to lethal Ice-type attacks from Chien-Pao and Kyurem as well as common attacks from Pokemon like Gholdengo, Tornadus, Dragonite, and Glimmora" or however you want to word it. Also Tera Steel is slashed first, so move the Tera Steel comments to the top.
  • Tornadus's bulk allows it to survive significantly more than the other Prankster Tailwind setters. This set takes full advantage of Tornadus's bulk by allowing it to survive priority moves that might outspeed Tornadus and prevent it from setting up it and prevent Tailwind, such as Chien-Pao's Ice Shard and Dragonite's Extremespeed. Max/Max Bold also lets Torn live standard AV Iron Hands Wild Charge. Also it's just a good general spread to have cause there are a ton of physical attackers in the tier + most of the things that is gonna stay in to chip Tornadus are physical attackers (IE: Incineroar, Tera Water Ogerpon, Dragonite, Hands). If you can fit it in a way that flows, I think it's worth adding otherwise don't worry about it. You alluded to it in your first sentence, but I think it's important to also mention that this bulk lets Tornadus set up Tailwind multiple times in a game, unlike whims/murkrow.
  • Tornadus pairs best with offensive threats that can remove threats quickly by moving first with middling Speed. Slower aggressive Pokemon such as Chi-Yu and Gholdengo can take advantage of the boosted speed to outspeed major threats. Echoing Smudge's check that I think having concrete examples here would be good (IE: both outrunning Lando). I'd also highlight Landorus as a good beneficiary, it's paired super frequently with Torn. However, any disruptive Pokemon can benefit from Tornadus, with more supportive options like Incineroar and Rillaboom being able to pivot in and out quicker than opposing Pokemon, and Amoonguss outspeeding certain slow Pokemon to get a somewhat fast Spore under Tailwind with a slight speed investment. I don't think this is worth mentioning, these examples are too situational. Instead, I would talk about how beneficial it is overall having prankster twind. Pretty much everything can benefit from having speed control and prankster twind is the best form of speed control in the game right now. It'll always be useful in a game and at worst, it lets you match the opponent's Tailwind (which is great for offensive teams).
