VGC Tornadus [GP - 1/1]

[OVERVIEW]

:Tornadus:
* Tornadus is one of the strongest support Pokemon bearing a great toolkit, including Tailwind, Taunt, Rain Dance, and Sunny Day. Prankster provides great speed and weather control. It has a great matchup against Rillaboom and Amoonguss, thanks to Bleakwind Storm, a great spread move which gives it a field presence, and Taunt.

* Tornadus has amazing synergy with Urshifu-R and fast Pokemon like Flutter Mane, Chien-Pao, and Landorus, which define the archetype of tailwind hyper offense.

* Tornadus can become vulnerable to certain threats like Urshifu-R, Chien-Pao, and opposing Taunt Tornadus depending on its item choice. Focus Sash struggles against Urshifu-R, and items like Covert Cloak and Mental Herb struggle against Chien-Pao. Rocky Helmet matches poorly into Fake Out and Taunt pressure.

* Tornadus struggles to create field pressure as a singular Pokemon. It cannot Taunt Pokemon like Farigiraf and Indeedee due to their respective abilities blocking priority. Chien-Pao, Raging Bolt, Iron Hands and Archaludon are bad matchups for it because of their ability to quickly remove it from the field.

[SET]

Bulky Tailwind (Tornadus) @ Rocky Helmet / Covert Cloak / Mental Herb
Level: 50
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 92 Def / 4 SpA / 132 SpD / 28 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Tera Type: Dark / Steel
Calm Nature
- Bleakwind Storm
- Tailwind
- Taunt / Protect
- Rain Dance / Sunny Day

[SET COMMENTS]

* Bleakwind Storm provides good damage into Rillaboom and Ogerpon-W. Tailwind is the most effective speed control Tornadus has access to. Taunt helps shut down Amoonguss and helps to manage certain Trick Room Pokemon like Porygon2 and Dusclops, but Protect can be run instead to ensure Tailwind goes up. Rain Dance and Sunny Day serve as weather control, which enables your sweepers and disables opposing weather-based sweepers. Rain Dance pairs well with Urshifu-R and Ogerpon-W while Sunny Day powers up Chi-Yu and Flutter Mane.

* This given EV spread focuses on bulk, surviving Mystic Water Surging Strikes from Urshifu-R and Tera Fairy Choice Specs Moonblast from Flutter Mane. The low Speed investment ensures that Tornadus sets up its own weather.

* Rocky Helmet helps against Urshifu-R mirrors and provides good chip into opposing physical attackers making contact. Covert Cloak prevents Fake Out flinches from Incineroar and Rillaboom. It also negates any secondary effects from moves like Rock Slide and Icy Wind. This ensures that Tailwind goes up. Mental Herb helps to shrug off one Taunt.

*Tera Dark provides an immunity to Prankster Taunt, guaranteeing Tailwind. Tera Steel provides useful resistance to Chien-Pao and Flutter Mane's STAB moves. Both Tera types improve matchups into Psyspam and against Electric-type moves from Pokemon like Raging Bolt, Iron Hands and Archaludon.

[SET]

Offensive Tailwind (Tornadus) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Prankster
Tera Type: Ghost / Flying
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Tailwind
- Bleakwind Storm
- Icy Wind/Taunt/Rain Dance
- Protect

[SET COMMENTS]

* Focus Sash ensures Tornadus survives one attack and set up Tailwind. Protect becomes important to avoid Fake Out without committing the Tera early.

* Tornadus rarely Terastallizes, but Tera Ghost can ensure that it can more reliably set up Tailwind by negating Fake Out from Pokemon like Incineroar and Rillaboom, and Extreme Speed from Pokemon like Dragonite and Entei. Tera Flying increases its offensive pressure.

[OVERVIEW]

:Tornadus:
*Tornadus is one of the strongest supporting Pokemon bearing a great supportive toolkit of moves such as, Including Tailwind, Taunt, Rain Dance/, Sunny Day, Scary Face, etc. With its ability Prankster it allows it to provide great speed and weather control. [Move here] and Amoonguss thanks to Bleakwind Storm and Taunt.

*Its has amazing synergy with Urshifu-Rapid-Strike and fast paced Pokemon like Flutter Mane, Chien-Pao and Landorus-Incarnate. (It's the Base form so it doesn't need the Incarnate) and so Pairing with these Pokemon defines the Tailwind Hyper-Offence as an archetype.
It Tornadus has got a great spread move in Bleakwind Storm which allows gives it to have a field presence and provides a good chip for your Pokemons to pick them up. (Better off in Set Comments) [It also is has a great switch in matchup against Rillaboom and does good damage with Bleakwind Storm to most sets] (Keep it simple) [Move this to the top paragraph]

*It can become vulnerable to certain threats depending (Isn't specific and may leave readers in confusion) on its item choice. Focus Sash struggling against Urshifu-Rapid-Strike and Covert Cloak/Mental Herb struggling against Chien-Pao. Rocky Helmet is situational as well (Examples of what it struggles against?). Tornadus struggles to create field pressure on the field as a singular Pokemon. However, that might turn out advantageous as your opponents can ignore it allowing you to consistently chip and maybe get a second tailwind up as well It can't be ignored as it still threats great chip and a second tailwind (Tornadus isn't ignored in games, better to explain why)

*It struggles against Farigiraf and Indeedee due to their respective abilities blocking priority moves against their team (Unnecessary). Chien-Pao, straightforward OHKOs Tornadus, Raging Bolt, and Iron Hands and Pokemon with extremely high damage output are bad matchups for it because of their ability to quickly remove it from the field.

*Focuses on bulk, lives Mystic Water Surging- Strikes from Urshifu Rapid-Strike and Tera- Fairy Choice Specs Flutter Mane Moonblast.
116+ SpA Choice Specs Tera-Fairy Flutter Mane Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 132+ SpD Tornadus: 158-186 (84.9 - 100%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Mystic Water Urshifu Surging Strikes (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 92 Def Tornadus on a critical hit: 153-180 (82.2 - 96.7%) -- approx. 2HKO
(Unncessary when you've already stated calcs)

*Provides good chip damage (There's a point where it becomes actual damage) into Rillaboom and Ogerpon-Wellspring with Bleakwind Storm and ensures that you have your weather enabled in the end due to the low speed investment. Tailwind is the most effective for of speed control Tornadus has access to that doubles your Pokemon’s speed for effectively 4 turns. Taunt helps to shut down Amoonguss and [Move here]. Rain Dance and Sunny Day serve as weather control which enables your sweepers and disables the opponents. [It also helps to manage some certain Trick Room matchups] [This is referring to Taunt]. Rain Dance, Sunny Day as weather control.

IVs: 0 Atk

- Bleakwind Storm
- Icy Wind/Taunt/Rain Dance
- Protect

[SET COMMENTS]

*Focus Sash set is straightforward max-max with Ghost Terastalization to stop Fake Out. Taunt, Bleakwind Storm, weather control with Protect are all standard moves. (Elaborate on why Protect is now a necessity)

*Tornadus has a lot of options for items and tera types that include Focus Sash to ensure one hit, [Covert Cloak to not be affected by fake out and effects of moves like flinches, Mental Herb to shrug off one taunt, rocky helmet to help in the Tornadus Urshifu Rapid- Strike mirror and provide good chip and rarely used Sky Plate for burst damage. (Not mentioned in the provided sets)
[Each item provides a different character to the set but most optimum for such sets would be Covert Cloak which prevents Fake Out flinch and additional effects of other moves like Rock Slide flinch and Icy Wind speed drop. This ensures that Tailwind goes up. Non covert cloak Other sets can opt for Protect as their 4th move to ensure their chances for tailwind.] [Move to the other set comments]

*You rarely click Terastalization on Tornadus, but It's made done to ensure that you can have staggered tailwind or offensive pressure with flying stab boosted by Tera Flying. However [Ghost and Steel see the most usage due to their good defensive attributes.] (Which defensive attributes?) [Move to the other set comments] A rather unexplored Terastalization is Water which helps with the rocky helmet sets and resists both Surging Strikes and ice moves from Chien-Pao. Since the usage of electric stab is less due to Iron Hands falling off, this might be an interesting choice as well. (Not mentioned in the provided sets)
As you're a first time writer I'll be doing a second check to see if everything was implemented correctly.

:Tornadus:
*Tornadus is one of the strongest support Pokemon bearing a great supportive (support pokemon - supportive toolkit is repetitive, feel free to rephrase to avoid this) toolkit, including Tailwind, Taunt, Rain Dance, (AC) and Sunny Day. Focus Sash struggling struggles against Urshifu-R, (AC) and Covert Cloak/Mental Herb struggling struggles against Chien-Pao. Rocky Helmet is situational as well but struggles against Fake Out and Taunt pressure. Tornadus struggles to create field pressure as a singular Pokemon. However, it can't be ignored as it still threats great chip and a second Tailwind. (again, im not sure if this last sentence fits a bullet about items; wouldn't teh fact that it's passive on its own would fit in the below point about bad matchups?)

*Tornadus struggles against Farigiraf and Indeedee due to their respective abilities blocking priority. Chien-Pao, Raging Bolt, and Iron Hands are also bad matchups for it because of their ability to quickly remove it from the field.

*Provides Bleakwind Storm provides good damage into Rillaboom and Ogerpon-W with Bleakwind Storm and ensures that you have your weather enabled in the end due to the low Speed investment. (moved the speed investment part to the ev spread bullet point) Tailwind is the most effective for of speed control Tornadus has access to. Taunt helps shut down Amoonguss. It also Amoonguss and helps to manage some certain Trick Room matchups, but Protect can be run instead to ensure Tailwind goes up. (which ones - make sure to give examples for points like this) Rain Dance and Sunny Day serve as weather control, (AC) which enables your sweepers and disables the opponents opposing weather-based sweepers. (what examples of sweepers is there? without examples, a reader can't know what pairs well with torn)

(ev spread point should go here)

*Each item provides its own characteristics to the set but (fluff phrase) Covert Cloak is the most optimum, as it can prevent prevents Fake Out flinches (from what pokemon?) and other effects from moves like Rock Slide and Icy Wind. This ensures that Tailwind goes up. Mental Herb shrugs off one Taunt, while Rocky Helmet helps against Urshifu-R mirrors and provides good chip. These sets can also opt for Protect as their last slot to ensure Tailwind gets up. (this point also doesn't really fit here because you've gone from items back to moves; i've moved this up)

*Tera Dark provides a Prankster immunity to guarantee Tailwind, and Tera Steel provides useful resistance to Chien-Pao and Flutter Mane's STAB moves. Both Tera types improve matchups against Electric-type moves and other common types. (what are the other common types? what mons run electric moves? rn you're just listing the type chart - how does this relate to the vgc metagame?)

[SET COMMENTS]

*Focus Sash set is straightforward with Tera Ghost to stop Fake Out and Extreme Speed. Taunt, Bleakwind Storm, and weather control with Protect are all standard moves. (if they're standard moves do they need to be mentioned?) Protect becomes important to avoid Fake Out pressure without commiting committing the Tera early.

*Tornadus has a lot of options for items including Focus Sash to ensure living it survives one hit. (what are the other items? you're saying ti has a lot of options but then only explain one)

*You rarely click Tera on Tornadus. It's done to ensure that you can have Tailwind by opting for Tera Ghost to avoid Fake out or increase offensive pressure with stab boosted by Tera Flying. Tornadus rarely Terastallizes, but Tera Ghost can ensure that it can more reliably set up Tailwind by blocking Fake Out, and Tera Flying can increase its offensive pressure.
