The Table Tennis Topic

Discuss anything related to table tennis/ping pong/whatever you want to call it.

I started playing ping pong at school but I sucked at it. It was really fun though so I got a table for my birthday and I've been playing it ever since then. I'm pretty good for someone who's been playing for less than a year, but I make tons of stupid mistakes.

I didn't think of it as a real sport at first, but now that I play it I realized that it takes tons of endurance and you have to have amazing reflexes.

I love Ping Pong, I have played for a year and there is a club at my school for it. Everyone uses spins and stuff but I beat them w/o it. I am not amazing but you don't have to to have fun.

I play ping pong when I can. I'm decent at it, but I've never taken it seriously (I'm still better then all the Chinese kids in my school who do take it seriously though, which I think is funny. I try to tell them they'd be better off if they didn't hold the paddle like a pen, but they don't listen.)

I used to be good at it, now I suck.

I'll play anyone who doesn't consider it a sport and give them a heavy sore arm. xD I once got the ball in a guy's mouth accidentally because I spiked it to the side, but it got propelled way too high and he kept his mouth open.

"Welcome to my tournmaent of champions. I have assembled the most talented atheletes from around the globe...the sport of emperors and bandits...ping pong. Or as the Chinese put it, 'Ping pong.'"

In a world of illegal underground table tennis...legend tells of one man who risked everything to be the best.

Seriously, I thought this was going to be a Balls of Fury topic, which I found modestly entertaining in the $2 bargain theatre. Besides the battle at the end, it made me want to go back and start playing ping pong again.

I'm actually pretty decent at the game. That's probably only because I play regular tennis, but I still find the table version to be a nice break from tennis once in a while. I've done some tournaments with my friends (not official or anything) and I got in 2nd. Pretty fun. Although that was a year ago. I probably suck now.

Speaking of table tennis, you guys all heard about Rockstar Games' Table Tennis is coming to the Wii, right? I'm actually considering getting this game, but only because it got good reviews.

My girlfriend and I play all the time, but she usually wipes the floor with me. We do get some good volleys though. In my defense, she was on a tennis club and she plays tennis, so there is a bit of an advantage there.

Dont laugh at me.

I was the head of the Ping Pong club back in high school. I could kill about anyone (I also played regular tennis then), with the only person I knew that could come close to me was Alex, who also played regular tennis (and was better at that, too).

I like the game, but this is coming from a guy who excels at all the "not sport" sports (Bowling, Golf, Ping Pong).

table tennis is the funnest workout you can get without having to go outside :] i've been playing since elementary school, which is a long time back, but i only play for fun. i've worked as a pingpong teacher for several years, but that's just for teaching tiny children how to hit the ball and stuff like that.

I enjoy playing ping pong, however I'm not that talented at it and there are far better people in my school than me so whenever we would play in P.E. or for fun or whatever I would get rocked usually unless my teammate was good (most of my friends were pretty good, so we would do ok most of the time).

Ping Pong is fun for me and I'm pretty decent. I do play regular tennis but I see almost no connection in terms of skill. I wish my school had a table tennis club.

Also, I'm Chinese and I don't hold my paddle like a pen >.>

I love this game my Dad got a table tennis table for a late birthday present this year and we use it all the time. I have two other brothers so we play eachother a lot which is cool and we're pretty decent too. I've got to admit it's a flippin' addicting game!
