Technical Support v2 [READ ORIGINAL POST before posting]

What type of bug are you reporting? Unsure

What is the bug?
I'm unable to open PS! for more than 2 - 3 minutes at a time, after that it shows me the "You have been disconnected" screen. If I reconnect, the whole cycle repeats again. Sometimes trying to perform an action like type in chat or start a battle disconnects me early. My internet is working perfectly fine. On top of this, Smogon Forums itself is behaving very strangely, with abysmal loading speeds and not letting me paste screenshots within a spoiler (that one might be my stupidity). All other websites and applications i can think of that require the internet are working fine, better than normal even - Google, YouTube, Wikipedia, Minecraft, etc. I don't see anyone else complaining about this, so I'm assuming its an error on my end.

Are you able to replicate it? If so, how?
Yes, just by opening the tab again or reconnecting.

I can access offline capabilities like the Teambuilder though, that's why I assumed it was an internet issue.

Tried it just now - attempting to log into my account got me disconnected again.

If you can supply the following, I may be able to help.
OS: What platform are you using (i.e. Windows 10, Windows 11, Linux, etc.)
OS Version: What version of your OS are you running (i.e. Windows 11 23H2) (Should be under your system information)
Browser: What browser are you using? (i.e. Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, etc.)
Browser Version: What version your browser is (Should be in the settings page of your browser)
Internet Broadband: What is the broadband of internet you are getting (5Ghz, 2.5Ghz, etc.)
Internet Provider: Who do you get your internet from (i.e. Comcast, AT&T, etc.)

If you use Windows 10 or Windows 11, you can do the following to try and fix (may or may not work)
  1. Open Task Manager and End the task of your browser (make sure you copy and paste these instructions into Notepad so you can still follow them)
  2. Hold the Windows Key and press 'R'
  3. In the window that pops up, type 'cmd' and hit enter
    • this opens command prompt
  4. In the Command Prompt window, type the following, then press enter:
    1. 'ipconfig /release'
      1. This will cause your internet driver to 'turn off' (we will 'turn it back on' in the next command, which is in Step 5)
  5. Wait around 15 seconds for the process to complete (it will have the no internet icon in your taskbar once it has successfully completed)
  6. Again, in the command prompt window, type the following, then press enter:
    1. 'ipconfig /renew'
      1. This will 'turn it back on'
  7. In command prompt still, to confirm that the Internet driver is re-enabled, type the following command:
    1. 'ping google.com -n 8'
      1. this just sends small dummy packets to google.com in order to test if your internet connection is indeed back on
        1. if you see something like this, then it has worked:
          1. Code:
Pinging google.com [142.250.190.110] with 32 bytes of data:
            Reply from 142.250.190.110: bytes=32 time=20ms TTL=115
            Reply from 142.250.190.110: bytes=32 time=19ms TTL=115
            Reply from 142.250.190.110: bytes=32 time=24ms TTL=115
            Reply from 142.250.190.110: bytes=32 time=21ms TTL=115
            Reply from 142.250.190.110: bytes=32 time=25ms TTL=115
            Reply from 142.250.190.110: bytes=32 time=18ms TTL=115
            Reply from 142.250.190.110: bytes=32 time=21ms TTL=115
            Reply from 142.250.190.110: bytes=32 time=26ms TTL=115

            Ping statistics for 142.250.190.110:
                Packets: Sent = 8, Received = 8, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
                Minimum = 18ms, Maximum = 26ms, Average = 21ms
          2. Google's public ip is the 142.250.190.110, and is perfectly harmless to do this to.
    2. If all 8 are both sent and received, your internet connection is back
  8. Launch your browser, and go to Pokemon Showdown
    1. If it still does not work, try to set your DNS in your internet settings to those of OpenDNS (a public DNS server), then restart your device and try to connect again
      1. Primary DNS: 208.67.222.222
      2. Secondary DNS: 208.67.220.220
