All you need is Moonblast. Hydrapple can go Tera Fairy and jab Iron Valiant in the gut with a max. roll Giga Drain, and Iron Valiant will still 2HKO. Being immune to Fickle Beam and its actually 30% chance of double power hax is great!

Calm Mind Clefable is a check to hydrapple. Calm mind clefable isn't able to switch directly into hydrapple, but with a calm mind up, it can beat hydrapple. +1 moonblast has a chance to OHKO hydrapple, while tera fairy hydrapple has a chance to be 2hit ko'd. Clefable can eventually get to +6, with giga drain doing 55% ish max at a 2 stat point difference. Tera steel means in a pinch, clefable can resist giga drain to moonlight up or get another calm mind in.

Calcs:
+2 252+ SpA Hydrapple Giga Drain vs. +1 252 HP / 4 SpD Clefable: 186-219 (47.2 - 55.5%) -- 17.6% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Light Screen
- U-turn/Iron Head
- Roost
- Brave Bird
Specially defensive corviknight is a counter to Hydrapple. With pressure, corviknight can stall out every one of hydrapples moves, especially fickle beam which only has 4 pp. Giga drain is 4x resisted, and earth power does zero damage to you. Now, +6 hydrapple could be annoying, because when you roost they can hit you with earth power. However, that's where light screen comes in. With this move, you can actually survive one e-power from full, and you take very little damage from fickle beam, as even double power only does 63% max. This means you can roost off the damage, or swap to a counter. Remember, you only need to do this for 4 turns. Light screen means you can also switch to another mon if needed, in case corviknight gets too low. Brave bird means you can threaten hydrapple pre tera for big damage, while iron head means you threaten them post tera. Tera grass can be used if you are scared of e-power, though you do take big damage from fickle beam otherwise.

+6 252+ SpA Hydrapple Fickle Beam vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Corviknight through Light Screen: 108-127 (27 - 31.7%) -- 34.1% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

Av Galarian-Slowking is a check to hydrapple. Initially, I wasn't a huge fan of av glowing cause clicking chilly is just so free. Chilly is a broken move and I'll never understand why game freak decided to remove teleport from slowbrow while giving slowking this cheap move. Av glowking does have some nice advantages. You have a free slot for coverage like flamethrower to hit steel or ice types and you generally take a lot of hits.
Anyhow. This is the spread from a stormzone ho team, you can find that team in the sample thread. You can also use other spreads, they should all check hydrapple.
Now you're probably wondering: Why isn't this a counter? Well, +2 hydrapple does around 70%. So if it clicks np on the switch, you're goobed.
Just click sludge bomb, you'll do 60-70% even if the drapple clicks tera fairy.

Congratulations, your sets will be added to our Hall of Fame! For this week, I'll be bringing back a Pokemon that still finds strong viability in the OU metagame, this time with a set that beats almost all of its last appearance's answers. With a newfound pair of Choice Specs, is there anything that can handle Iron Crown?

Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

With Choice Specs equipped, Iron Crown's massive Tachyon Cutter can shred through even resists, while specially defensive walls cannot even hope to stand up to its massive STAB Psyshock. Volt Switch allows Iron Crown to pivot out to its teammates on otherwise switch-ins, and Focus Blast provides a massive hit to Steel- and Dark-types that gets boosted into Iron Crown's most powerful attack with Tera Fighting. Choice Specs Iron Crown fits as a very, very powerful pivot with the ability to wallbreak against special checks that can take on almost anything else in the metagame; who can step up and handle the crown?

76 Atk Wellspring Mask Ogerpon-Wellspring Ivy Cudgel vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Iron Crown: 162-192 (50.4 - 59.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Iron Crown Psyshock vs. 180 HP / 0 Def Ogerpon-Wellspring: 217-256 (62.7 - 73.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Tera Fighting Iron Crown Focus Blast vs. 180 HP / 0 SpD Ogerpon-Wellspring: 291-343 (84.1 - 99.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

:sv/ting-lu:
Ting-Lu @ Leftovers
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Tera Type: Ghost
Careful Nature
- Spikes / Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Whirlwind
- Ruination

Ting-Lu is a check. It's immune to both Psyshock and Volt Switch, and is so fat that Tachyon Cutter doesn't do much damage. That leaves Focus Blast, but even taking the shaky accuracy into account it's not even a guaranteed 2HKO unless Iron Crown Terastallizes or Spikes are up, and even then, there's the possibility of Ting-Lu Terastalizing. In return, Ting-Lu can threaten a 2HKO with Earthquake pre-Tera, or use the inevitable switch out to get hazards up.

Tera Ghost is chosen as insurance against Focus Blast, while also not granting any weaknesses to any of Iron Crown's attacks.

:ting-lu:
0 Atk Ting-Lu Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Iron Crown: 236-278 (73.5 - 86.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 Atk Ting-Lu Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tera Fighting Iron Crown: 118-139 (36.7 - 43.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

:iron crown:
252 SpA Choice Specs Iron Crown Tachyon Cutter (2 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Vessel of Ruin Ting-Lu: 150-176 (29.1 - 34.2%) -- approx. 99.3% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Iron Crown Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Vessel of Ruin Tera Ghost Ting-Lu: 117-138 (22.7 - 26.8%) -- possible 5HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Iron Crown Volt Switch vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Vessel of Ruin Tera Ghost Ting-Lu: 68-81 (13.2 - 15.7%) -- possibly the worst move ever
252 SpA Choice Specs Iron Crown Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Vessel of Ruin Ting-Lu: 236-278 (45.9 - 54%) -- 3.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Tera Fighting Iron Crown Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Vessel of Ruin Ting-Lu: 354-416 (68.8 - 80.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Kingambit @ Leftovers
Ability: Supreme Overlord
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Atk / 44 Spe
Tera Type: Flying
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Kowtow Cleave
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head

It is a check on more offensive teams kingambit works pretty well at screwing over iron crown, it takes on taychon cutter ok to the point it can get setup, is immune to psyshock, and while it dies to focus 20 times over it can take on volt switch and generally prevent iron crown from clicking buttons

252 SpA Choice Specs Iron Crown Tachyon Cutter (2 hits) vs. 212 HP / 0 SpD Kingambit: 134-158 (34 - 40.1%) -- approx. 94.6% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Iron Crown Volt Switch vs. 212 HP / 0 SpD Kingambit: 125-148 (31.7 - 37.5%) -- 26.7% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

I Love Scarf Landorus.
Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Level: 100
Jolly Nature
Tera Type: Flying
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 8 HP / 240 Atk / 8 SpD / 252 Spe
- Earthquake
- Tera Blast
- Stone Edge
- U-turn

Landorus-T can outspeed (and surprise) quite a lot of fast threats with a Choice Scarf (well, unless they also have a Scarf)
Iron Crown's speed stat is 7 points higher thatn Lando's? Tie a neat scarf and blow it up I say.
240 Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Iron Crown: 354-416 (110.2 - 129.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Even though that's nice and all, there's a reason why Landorus is only a check instead of a counter.
252 SpA Choice Specs Tera Steel Iron Crown Tachyon Cutter (2 hits) vs. 8 HP / 8 SpD Landorus-Therian: 376-444 (117.1 - 138.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
240 Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Iron Crown: 354-416 (110.2 - 129.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Iron Crown Volt Switch vs. 8 HP / 8 SpD Tera Flying Landorus-Therian: 260-308 (80.9 - 95.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
240 Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Iron Crown: 354-416 (110.2 - 129.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

I don't care how much PP there's left, I cast Pyro Ball!!
Cinderace @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Level: 100
Jolly Nature
Ability: Libero
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
- Pyro Ball
- U-turn
- Sucker Punch
- Court Change

Cinderace actually tanks Iron Crown's attacks surprisingly well. Fire types are rarely used defensively, but once you tank a resisted hit it's pretty nice.
Switch Cinderace in into any attack, and then send the Terminator to the Incinerator™
252 SpA Choice Specs Tera Steel Iron Crown Tachyon Cutter (2 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Cinderace: 200-236 (66.4 - 78.4%) -- approx. 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Iron Crown Psyshock vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Cinderace: 237-279 (78.7 - 92.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Iron Crown Volt Switch vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Cinderace: 139-164 (46.1 - 54.4%) -- 57.8% chance to 2HKO
252 Atk Cinderace Pyro Ball vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Iron Crown: 362-428 (112.7 - 133.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Libero Cinderace Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Iron Crown: 212-252 (66 - 78.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Libero Cinderace U-turn vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tera Steel Iron Crown: 53-63 (16.5 - 19.6%) -- possible 6HKO

Thank you for your submissions this week, voting is now open! Unfortunately I cannot accept a few of these, reasoning is listed in the spoiler below.
Kingambit: This set does not beat Iron Crown safely if it uses Tera Fighting, as Iron Head into Sucker Punch cannot take out Iron Crown post-Tera; this can punish a choice lock, but I wouldn't call it a check as after Tera Kingambit will always go down before taking out a Tera'd Iron Crown that clicks the right move.
Lando-T / Cinderace: I think these sets have been put together assuming the set is Tera Steel, both sets lose if it uses Tera Fighting. With this, non-CB Cinderace cannot check Iron Crown either, as Tera Fighting Focus Blast is an OHKO.
