The SV Quality Control (QC) Team:
The Quality Control team consists of several hard-working mice to ensure every analysis is up to the high standards Smogon. Thousands of living beings view these analyses worldwide, so a high-quality standard is necessary! If the QC team does not think your analysis is up to on-site standards, we have the right to reassign or reject it. Make sure you familiarize yourself with C&C standards and read some uploaded analyses to prevent this from being the case. If you have any questions, reach out to the active members of the QC team first, same with asking for cheesy checks.

How to become a Member of the Quality Control Team?

To join the QC team, you must PM a Monotype C&C moderator; we will then put you into the Trial QC system. Then PM any willing QC member with your AMQC checks; if it is good, we will approve it, and it is ready to be posted in the thread. When opening Smogon, have conversations with a member of the QC team, including a member of the C&C mod team, so we can oversee what is happening. After a member of the Trial QC has dropped 4-5 high-quality AM checks, they will be added as an official Monotype QC team member. If a check is approved as a member of the Trial QC by a member of the QC team, it counts as a stamp. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.! Higher skilled/knowledgeable players may be given more leeway in joining the QC team. Contributing through writing/discussions can also give leeway in the process.

The starting format for SV Monotype analyses will be preview analyses. These will only require 2 QC checks and 1 GP check. They are only 1 paragraph and can be around 5-6 lines. An example is listed below along with a clear format C/P.

- a description of the EV spread in one sentence or none; don't focus on "default" things like maximum Attack investment, do give reasoning behind the benchmarks chosen;

- a brief example of teammates that benefit from the analyzed Pokemon's presence;
- a brief example of foes that the analyses Pokemon is vulnerable to + teammates to help cover them.
- Usage tips aren't required but for specific / complex areas

Dondozo is a staple on rainless Water teams due to its phenomenal bulk and ability to check setup sweepers such as Gholdengo and Chien-Pao, thanks to Unaware. Dondozo faces competition from Quagsire as the team's Unaware user, as Quagsire has an immunity to Electric-type attacks and can stack entry hazards; however, it drops to Grass-type attacks. Curse allows Dondozo to apply offensive pressure, boosting its attack and allowing it to better hit targets such as Baxcalibur and Kingambit while also allowing it to better tank hits in return. Rest allows Dondozo to shrug off status and gives it longevity, allowing it to constantly absorb powerful attacks for Water teams, such as Great Tusk's Headlong Rush. Sleep Talk enables Dondozo to further take advantage of Rest, allowing it to continue to setup or attack its target while asleep. Dondozo takes advantage of its STAB through the use of Waterfall, doing more damage, but Avalanche allows Dondozo to OHKO Meowscarada, as well as pressure Water-immune Pokemon such as Clodsire and Gastrodon. Its EV spread allows Dondozo to tank attacks from Gholdengo and Flutter Mane, due to its already high physical defense, which may be further boosted by Curse.

Choice Specs Greninja is an insane wallbreaker, with coverage allowing it to take on a variety of Pokemon such as an opposing Dondozo or Ting-Lu with Grass Knot, Garchomp with Ice Beam, Amoonguss and Clodsire with Extrasensory, and Espathra with Dark Pulse. Toxapex absorbs Toxic Spikes for Dondozo, spreads Toxic, and shrugs off Grass-type attacks such as Flower Trick from Choice Scarf Meowscarada and Grass Knot from Greninja. Gastrodon provides an Electric immunity and it can tank attacks from special attackers such as Flutter Mane; however, it needs to be wary of Energy Ball. Gastrodon can also stack Spikes or set Stealth Rock, wearing down foes for Dondozo. The defensive core of Dondozo, Toxapex, and Gastrodon also gives Water teams opportunities to scout powerful attacks by allowing for each to switch-in for another, such as Dondozo switching in for Gastrodon or Toxapex to tank Chien-Pao's Crunch. Earthquake also allows it to take on Poison- and Electric-type Pokemon such as Clodsire and Sandy Shocks. Quaquaval can remove hazards with Rapid Spin for Dondozo and offensive Quaquaval sets can take on common threats to Water teams such as Greninja after one Aqua Step or Meowscarada after two.

Don't forget to tag GP Team (the smogon account) before moving your analyses to GP, as the GP'ers wouldn't know that your analysis is ready to be GP'ed if it's not queued by the bot. Thank you for your support in helping Mono C&C! :blobnom:

Credits have been revamped to make crediting people easier. You can now just paste in the url of the QC'er/Writer/GP'er to credit them (no more need for brackets, yipee)

HOME will be arriving at the 24th. This will bring us a plethora of Pokemon that would massively change the metagame. Due to this, we are temporarily putting reservations on hold until the HOME metagame stabilizes.

The sample sets thread will remain unlocked though, so feel free to contribute when we release the Pokemon whose sets need to be filled.

Analyses currently in GP must be continued to completion, while analyses in QC are up to the writer. Analyses in WIP will be locked on May 20 if they are not pushed out to QC by then.

Hi, a lot of announcements
  1. DugZa Rejoins as SV Monotype QC'er
  2. New Pokémon Analysis Reservation Sheet - We separated reservations by sets, so that you can reserve and write for your desired Pokemon if another set proves to be worth writing. Also, this is easier to update and expand as the metagame develops
  3. Reservations Closing by September 1 for DLC 1 Preparation - In preparation for the upcoming DLC 1 and to allocate our focus towards completing pending analyses, we will be closing reservations by September 1. This is so that all analyses will be fully complete on or before September 13. Analyses not in Quality Control phase by September 3 will be locked and archived.

Thats all, have fun and thank you for support. We've worked on at least 98 analyses (Uploaded + in QC phase) so far this generation, and we wouldn't have done it without you! :blobnom:
 
Hi.

Reservations are closing by November 27 to let us prepare by DLC2. All analyses must be in Quality Control phase by December 1, and any analyses currently in WIP in that time will be archived.

Sets for Smogon Dex will remain open in the meantime, and we'll ask about the new and returning Pokemon at early January 2024. Expect reservations to be back up by Middle or late-January 2024.

Pokemon may be added from time to time, but currently we're focusing on ensuring that Pokemon ranked S-B in the VR gets an analyses
