Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Welcome to the 1v1 Team/Set Dump!
With our new wild west that is SV and the lack of established resources at this time, this thread will be used for a more informal place to post any teams or sets you've made so far that you would like to share. That way people can share ideas and try and see what ideas other people have during this early and volatile meta.
- Fun teams/sets are allowed! If you have an idea for something that may not be overly viable but you enjoy using feel free to share anyways. Not everyone enjoys solely using only the most viable and optimized of sets.
- Unlike more formal resources you don't need to write an essay about your team. If you want to give some notes or explain the process go ahead but it isn't required.
- Keep in mind that whatever you post will be seen by others and potentially stolen by others. While this doesn't really matter when there aren't any tours or anything going on it's still something to keep in mind. Sharing, stealing, and adapting ideas to get a better understanding of the meta together is the somewhat the goal of this thread.
Saw zio mention that leech stall protean seemed cool and i agree. It sucks that in order to use your poison typing you have to click protect and its not super viable but its fun
Gholdengo @ Custap Berry
Ability: Good as Gold
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Endure
- Make It Rain
- Shadow Ball
evs need work since most booster mons just kill you anyways but the idea of a custap mon being immune to taunt encore trick leech and all that is nice
Tauros-Paldea-Fire @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz

fun set i decided to try out and it works alright but gets owned by the paradox powercreep

Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Boomburst
- Roost
- Chilling Water
This was the first team I cooked up after taking a moment to try and absorb all the info of mechanics and the new mons. All three are basically just stuff I wanted to use rather than anything cohesive. For EVs I just went with a bunch of bulk on both sides for jigglypast (but with enough speed to get the boost from booster energy) and dudunsparce since obv no frame of reference for what to bulk hits from, and volcancient has reduced atk ivs so that way it gets a speed boost from booster energy. 90% of the time I click volc
Skeledirge @ Petaya Berry
Ability: Blaze
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Yawn
- Endure
- Blast Burn
- Torch Song
no fancy evs because i cannot put proper effort into the tier while it's a tera lottery but this seems like that pert set but better cos it's an acc special attacker. tera fire cos if my maths is right and u count for petaya, stab, blaze, tera it should be a 759 bp move so idk if u wld need coverage.
(edit apparently tera is 2x instead of 2.25x which i thought it was so the number is actually 675 but i highly doubt that difference matters for any calc this shit is insanely strong)
Skeledirge @ Custap Berry
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Blast Burn
- Torch Song
- Encore

Torch song into blast burn beats a lot of mons
dog (Wo-Chien) @ Sitrus Berry

Goodra @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sap Sipper
Tera Type: Ground

Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Acid Spray
- Fire Blast
- Tera Blast
Flutter Mane @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Shadow Ball
- Mystical Fire
Avalugg @ Custap Berry
Ability: Sturdy
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 248 Def
Impish Nature
- Body Press
- Iron Defense
- Recover
- Earthquake
Goodra is just an SS spread but it has tera, smely's Flutter Mane set has already been explained in this thread, Avalugg is fairly simple, EQ can be changed for whatever, I just needed something to hit Mimikyu.
Both Goodra and Avalugg definitely have potential again in SV, I would encourage people to try other non-paradox Pokemon and see if they are viable
Garganacl @ Leftovers
Ability: Purifying Salt
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Salt Cure
- Iron Defense
- Body Press
- Recover
espathra with lumina crash is pretty good, though it's pisspoor defenses really makes you want more. because it sometimes just dies in a single hit. meanwhile garganacl here is just a stalling machine with salt cure. still trying to find my third teammate but i'll get to it eventually ww
Fav team so far, made it on day 2 without a ton of care put into it. Sturdy is a good ability in 1v1, and I mostly just wanted to see if Magnezone would be decent. I started with Ice-tera Magnezone but realized that Ground allows Zone to hit both fire and steel which is pretty important. I experimented with some different tera types on the new mons but Flying and Fire are pretty solid overall. Got to 1500+ then fell which is pretty good compared to the other random stuff I put together.
Clodsire @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Acid Spray
- Chilling Water
- Recover
- Amnesia
Extremely bulky quag. Water absorb > Unaware because it is weak to water now and it utilizes acid spray and chilling water. Pairs well with Tera type Fire as defensive typing.
Dudunsparce-Three-Segment @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 20 Atk / 236 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Body Slam
- Bite
- Roost
- Coil
Actually a good replacement for togekiss. It has decent bulk to keep it alive and it deals a surprising amount of damage in this nerfed Stall meta. You could go for Tera type Ghost or Dark to boost Bite.
Flutter Mane @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Tera Blast
- Moonblast
- Calm Mind
- Pain Split
Booster energy is the obvious item here since its spa and speed are the same. The speed boost is needed more since it lacks bulk. Set up a CM turn one, tank a hit and then recover to near full hp with Pain Split because it has base 55hp. The fire type Tera is good here but if that gets banned then you can use Mystical Fire over Tera Blast.
Like 1-East posted, I think that Trailblaze is the best option for Wo-Chien to move out of awkward Taunt situations and it has STAB and PP as well. Tablets of Ruin is actually quite effective in-game although there aren't visual differences in the battle. Tera Type Poison is its best defensive option here.
Gigaton hammer does a gigaton amount of damage. This mon has a good defensive typing and a decent speed tier of 94 which makes it outspeed Great Tusk. This also allows it to use encore effectively.
Scream Tail @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Encore
- Disable

- Dazzling Gleam
Very prominent encore disabler with Protosynthesis speed boost. The Dark Tera type prevents Prankster shennanigens and blocks ghost type attacks.
Grimmsnarl (M) @ Custap Berry
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 168 Atk / 92 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bulk Up
- Substitute
- Play Rough
- Taunt
goatedmon. Beats dragons dakrs fightings roaringmoon and cheese scrarf chi yu with sub and shits on other stuff. Spdef and hp is for surviving moonblast from 252 special attack valiant
Rocky helmet dondozo was a tech to beat donphan and taunt annihilape. Overall i liked it a lot to get some extra chip.
Code:
Chi-Yu @ Life Orb
Ability: Beads of Ruin
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 244 HP / 248 SpD / 16 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Snarl

Life orb chiyu was a set I made with deddd. It's basically av chiyu but you beat stall and lose to bundle. It lives specs sylveon hyper beam with solid rolls.
Code:
Bellibolt @ Life Orb
Ability: Electromorphosis
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 252 HP / 32 Def / 112 SpA / 28 SpD / 84 Spe
Modest Nature
- Thunder
- Sucker Punch
- Soak
- Parabolic Charge
Life orb bellibolt beats a ton of choice attackers like meowscarada/dragapult, basically ohkoing weak resists and nonresists after getting charged.
After chi-yu ban I run flareon on 10/143 teams every team because is fun is just op and need to replace chi-yu by something.
Flareon is a unranked mon centralizing force with little viable options...wait is this even viable? high versatility and capable of beating nearly the same mons than arcanine but worst 80% o the time the majority of oponents in 1 vs 1 and you should run this thing on troll teams mainly every serious team if you like to have a fun day with loses competitive team in 1 vs 1.
Blue rabbit (Azumarill) @ Wacan Berry
Ability: Huge Power
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 144 HP / 240 Atk / 16 SpD / 108 Spe
Careful Nature
- Bulldoze
- Encore
- Liquidation
- Play Rough
Maybe flareon is a rabbit.
Now replace flareon with arcanine start playing 1 vs 1 and drop your position climb the ladder with that flareon teams.
All three of these Pokémon have the bulk to take hits from many of the best threats in the meta, and have their own ways of hitting back harder. Specs Sylveon covers the plethora of Dragon, Fighting, and Dark-types in the game with coverage for matchups like Iron Moth and Flutter Mane. Scarf Great Tusk serves as really good Speed control, outspeeding most of the meta and tanking hits from pretty much anything faster; it also has coverage for threats like Volcarona and opposing Sylveon. Gholdengo rounds out the team as a way of covering tough matchups like Iron Valiant and Azumarill. I initially had Skeledirge on the team, and Skeledirge can still fit onto the structure, but I feel like Gholdengo complemented my duo better.
Dondozo, Espathra, and certain variants of Great Tusk can be troublesome for this team, but the team generally does very well versus most team structures. Particularly, all the Pokémon have their own tools to deal with SV 1v1's big three Ghost-types (Flutter Mane, Gholdengo, and Annihilape). I peaked at 27th on the ladder with this team!
spent way too much time trying to make bronzong work, but the bell surprisingly puts in work. heatproof guarantees arcanine matchups, and levitate completely shuts down donphan. unfortunately i haven't yet found a work around annihilape but that mon is broken anyways so. https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen91v1-1794735933-rk5p3gx0efcqq687aj3ahvwg3io55xkpw
This is the most toxic degenerate set I've had the pleasure of discovering. Basically Custap Prankster Riolu but with the added benefit of Encore + Toxic against mons that try to interrupt your infinite copycat+ dig loop with Counter or priority moves like Protect. https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen91v1-1784049328-7600k6xdomhxq798ylhi0p44e9x45qhpw

Prankster Dig (Grafaiai) @ Lagging Tail / Iron Ball
Ability: Prankster
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 248 HP / 92 Def / 168 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Dig
- Copycat
- Toxic / Substitute / Knock Off
- Encore
HP and SpD allow Grafaiai to eat all specs Sylveon psychic, rest in Def to eat spec Sylveon psyshock of the damage calc set in most cases.
Toxic with encore is classic, sub for subseed and salt cure, knock off for poison immunities.
Iron Ball reduces damage from heavy slam.
Prankster ToxicSub (Grafaiai) @ Air Balloon / Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpD

Well… at least if they aren’t so smart to have damage-boosting items and figured out to click Giga impact turn 1/2
Or they just decided to bring life orb/silk scarf etc…
