In Melee, Fox/Falco's special taunts are activated by pressing down on the taunting pad or whatever it's called for one frame. Not sure how Snake's thingy works in Brawl though
 
Hey guys, I've been playing brawl all week now.Boss Battles on Very hard is just that, Very Hard.
 
Omg, after trying to figure out who I should main... I ended up unlocking Toon Link, Wolf, and Jiggly with my sister and brother. And guess who my new main is...

WOLF! XDD I know he sooo doesn't fit me, but he flows sooo well when I play him. I guess I'll get used to his looks because I'm AMAZING with him! >:D Once I get WiFi I'll so kill you guys! ;P

Oh, and how do you do the StarFox special taunts? And on what stage do you do them?
 
^I'm pretty sure I'm maining Toon Link.I was going to use regular Link, but Toon links Attacks have less Lag.
 
People who won't play a top tier because they're top tier annoy me as much as those who don't use OU in Pokemon because they're OU.

Snake is awesome btw. A few of my friends went down to Washington for a GameClucks bi-weekly, think it was the first one with Brawl.

1st: Snake
2nd: Snake until final round, used ROB
3rd: dunno

BC top 3 finish =)
 
I'm so happy that the freeloader has now been released I think I'mma charge people to come play it at my house.

Cruel Brawl is terrible. The most I've gotten to kill is two, with Meta (edgegrab, drop, shuttle loop, watch them suicide), Ivysaur (same but with tether), and Pikachu (Thunder spam).

The most annoying one is the green Kirby. I try to spike it but it keeps coming back. D:

I say a video where Jiggly got about 70 KO's in Cruel by grabbing a ledge and floating to the ledge on the other side beneath the stage, after some practice I got 10, which is just enough to get the Liquid Snake Sticker challenge, try it out.

EDIT: And Kristy posts the video before me when the page loads -_-
 
I bought a GameBridge to record Brawl matches and it's working out really well. I've got some videos of me and my friends having matches. A lot are us messing around with the random button so we can try out all the characters, but some of them are still pretty amusing.

As for mains, I'm having a horribly hard time deciding. Ike was my original choice and he's still basically my best, but I've been doing really well with Lucario, Wolf, and R.O.B. and even more recently I've been getting used to the new Marth and I'm slowly beginning to prefer the Brawl version of him. Just today, I've been messing with Falco and he's actually becoming really, really fun to play as.
 
for everyone who doesn't understand how tiers work and want to make a huge post about why a character is top tier--

it's not about how good they are. it's about how good they are compared to everyone else.

lots of characters look good on paper, or have nice combos, but it's compared to every other character.

don't try to base a character's power SOLELY on how good you think they are.


that being said, I think the only top tier character I see in my mind as definite is Ike. I've been training to fight him, but at the end of the day, Ike has an advantage over so many characters. Every non-Ike user hates him, every Ike user loves him. It's a "marth in melee" complex again.

But I acknowledge that other characters may outshine him, as marth was outdone by the spacies in melee in the end, but Ike currently has a very firm grip on the top.

try Ness if you're good with him
his Uair, Bair, Dair do great damage to bosses.
Plus, his PKT2 can be charged up against a lot of bosses
like Meta-Ridley after you dodge an attack (it always goes to the same spot after)
and the hands.

And vs. Master Hand and Duom (I think that's the name, the two sided boss)
ness can heal off hand's bullets and the gun head's lasers
NOT the blue ones it creates from an energy ball with one of it's attacks
but the pink one it fires rapidly
it can heal you from 60 to 0 I believe, and hand can go from 40 to 0

You do realize Ike gets fucked up by every projectile user with a brain right? That being said thank you for posting that, someone besides me knows of Ike's greatness.

Seeing as both my two mains are projectile users, I know of the advantages. I try to use caution versus Ike that way, but good Ike players will be prepared for projectiles, but in the long run Ike still has the advantage in a lot of the match-ups.

Stages make a HUGE difference. That's why I've got a few surprises packed for Ike players.
 
What's ironic is that, between the time of E4All and the game actually being released, everyone was saying that Ike was going to be the sole member of the 'garbage tier' while every other character would be infinitely superior.

I'm glad I stuck with him even when everyone was so absolutely sure he was horrible and useless.
 
I think they did too much. Peach got the shaft after E4All just because everyone called her broken (even though she wasn't, they hadn't even seen the other characters and it's not like they got to REALLY play with the new characters or see their dynamics) and then Ike got a huge buff because of the insults.

They've practically changed places because of the fixes. I personally supported the changes, but they changed too drastically.

No offense to peach users, she's still useable, but very urguably mediocre.

I have NO problems with players who use Ike because they are huge fans. I just hate the players who play them because they're good. If you noticed, a lot less people play DeDeDe now, where he was predicted to be the best while the game hadn't come out in the US. Now, it's Ike. I just hate how people flock to a character due to power (hence how spacies dominated melee tournaments) I support my RL friend peter, who was planning on maining Ike even before E4All.

Use Ike for Cruel Brawl. Just jump off the ledge and Ether. I got 5 KOs that way.
