Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Character and Tier Discussion

Indeed. I main (mostly out of fanboyism) Sonic (though I haven't played for a while,) and he has an UBER FS. Sonic is VERY decent in item matches, because Super Sonic is a beast. Plus his smash doesn't require you to get up close and personal to your foes, unlike many other FSes.
Because all tourney matchups have items on.

His Smash does require you to get close and personal to your opponent, it doesn't have the best horizontal range in the game, it doesn't have the lowest start-up or ending lag, and it doesnt kill at very low percents, it's a decent smash at best.

this game is so gay man. i think i'm just going to play brawl soccer from now on. and balanced brawl when they get a ledgegrab limit code working.

That much is obvious. True balance in a fighting game is impossible to achieve, the only thing you can do is make a mostly balanced game like the Guilty Gear series (which in itself even has tiers, and a few useless characters).

I do appreciate what Amazing Ampharos has done with Balanced Brawl though, because it certainly does make more characters competitively viable. I think that with a few more tweaks to the lower-tiered characters (for instance, Yoshi still doesn't really have much killing power compared to some other characters) the game could be improved even further, but that's a completely subjective opinion and could be debated ad infinitum.

Going back to something I read earlier, I really have to defend a few characters.

I use Jigglypuff as an alt and she can be a beast if used correctly. The difference between Jiggs and most characters is that you will almost never be using any of her B attacks. Instead, you'll spend a vast majority of your time in the air.

The main problem for Jiggs for me is that her moves lack priority. The Fair is good, but it's her approach, her damage giver, and her killing move. The rest of her moves can't do as much, unfortunately.

Question - Why is Falco so much better compared to Fox and Wolf (I know Wolf has really weird directional attacks)

I don't really know much about competitive brawl other than the high tier lists..

Dang, this new ICs AT is very close to being broken.

Running blizzards, and stuff is just too crazy. Despite what the vid says, it's known now how to do it.

Where it is in the thread, though, I'm not sure. Thoughts?
It probably won't do much to the ICs' viability in the long run. It's hard to pull off in a match, and it has the huge disadvantage of not being able to chaingrab while using it.

Falco has a Dthrow chaingrab on some characters, the most spammable lasers, and a good gimping game. In my opinion, he's not as high above Fox as the tier list seems to indicate though.

Jigglypuff's aerials all have great priority but she lacks disjointedness. This can be covered with her great aerial mobility and the speed of her attacks.

Falco's gimping game consists of spamming lasers at the opponent on Wi-Fi and hoping they mess up their recovery from there. "Great priority" and "lacks disjointedness" is basically an oxymoron.

Falco also has his bair, dair, and a good midair jump. "Great priority" and "lacks disjointedness" isn't really an oxymoron as while MK's tornado and glide attack are the only moves of his that can stop Samus' charge shot, most of JP's aerials do the job fine.
