High HP and low defense is technically the perfect recipe for good Counter damage. It's very reliant on prediction though and it's probably better to mitigate damage and stay in the fight then go for a Counter. Plus most people would go to Fighting moves on Snorlax which are still really common and often very high BP so unless you actually do invest in his Df then they'll likely outright kill you.Is counter Viable? Or does Snorlax take to little damage from physical attacks, rendering Counter useless?

I think Gunk Shot is a better option having a consistent BP and hitting far more types neutrally.Do you think Heavy Slam is viable this gen with Steel being super effective against Fairy pokemons? And do you think the Curse set is going to loose popularity due to Assault Vest?

Assault Vest has better coverage and more immediacy in benefit. You are simply an astounding good switch into Fire and Ice moves with Thick Fat, and lots of Ghosts are still specially based. AV Snorlax has no trouble taking a Focus Blast from Gengar, if it even connects, and killing it with Pursuit/Crunch.
Curse would be so much better if Snorlax could use Slack Off. Curse is the greater risk/reward set. You'll be overwhelmed by anything with Swords Dance unfortunately, particularly with Fighting moves. You'll have better overall bulk and better attack for sure, but less coverage and instead have to rely on Normal/Dark. Curse/Rest/Body Slam/Crunch is probably his best bet there with either Chesto or Leftovers, but you're probably better off simply using Belly Drum if you're going to Chesto Rest.
That 70% accuracy tho. I do feel AV is going to outclass Curse Snorlax aswell, but that leaves Snorlax very weak on the physical defensive end. Do you think an Impish max Defense max HP with Power Up Punch as one of the moves be more effective? Power Up Punch, EQ, Crunch and Body Slam?
ImpishGunk Shot has increased accuracy by 10% this Generation, just to point it out. It's somewhat ok 80% now.
BTW I wouldn't really recommend it anyway without STAB to back it up. Even if you hit Fairies (which aren't that common anyway outside of few, giving it even less reason to be used) coverage which poison attacks provide is still just bad. Just stick to neutral Return and Earthquake (for Klefki/Mawile) which will allow you to hit them hard enough, especially when pretty much all of them are weak on physical side of defense.
Kinda gimmicky but interesting nonetheless...I will try it out and see how it does..Impish

I am breeding a Snorlax one and hopefully want to pull of this set.Kinda gimmicky but interesting nonetheless...I will try it out and see how it does..
Personally I prefer a set with 252 EVs in Attack rather than Defense, that way you can use Snorlax to consistently come in and sponge special attacks and retaliate with more power. I'd rather have Superpower for that matter than PuP, but even with PuP: investing in Atk makes it more worthwile I think. Wish support helps a lot (as with all Assault Vest users).Impish

He has really high HP anyway, so dont feel the need to add to it.
Defenses should help his HP stay high and Normal/Dark has pretty good coverage on it.
Yes no?
It's Tanky and shields Special Attacks like a Chansey/Blissey. It's like an Offensive Blissey. But like Blissey. Just a hit from a Super Effective Physical Attack could be fatal.Assault vest snorlax is where it's at, that thing is so god damned tanky
