In general, Sirfetch'd struggles to stand out among other Fighting-type wallbreakers like Conkeldurr and Terrakion, but Scrappy lets it spam Close Combat without fear of a Ghost-type like Aegislash or Dragapult pivoting in. Knock Off is helpful for crippling Toxapex's and Hippowdon's longevity, while Poison Jab is necessary to deal with Fairy-types such as Togekiss, Sylveon, and Clefable. While Choice Band is usually the item of choice for the power it provides Sirfetch'd with, Eject Pack is an option alongside Dugtrio to make trapping Toxapex easier, although Sirfetch'd misses out on 2HKOs against Pokemon like Kommo-o and defensive Clefable. Sirfetch'd's aim is to repeatedly use Close Combat to break teams early- and mid-game while preventing offensive threats like Hydreigon from setting up and taking over games by threatening to revenge kill them with First Impression.
VoltTurn support from Pokemon such as Dragapult, Choice Scarf Hydreigon, and Rotom-H is essential. Additionally, they can provide speed control with Thunder Wave, Dragapult and Hydreigon can work with Sirfetch'd to wear down Fairy-types, and Rotom-H is a generally solid Fairy-type check. Late-game cleaners like Nasty Plot Togekiss and Bulk Up Corviknight benefit from Sirfetch'd breaking through teams, and both can deal with Toxapex. Other Pokemon that can manage Toxapex, such as Reuniclus and Rotom-C, are also good teammates.
