SHELLDER’S GATE
If Pokémon had RPG classes, what would they be? With those, what kind of Pokémon would have those classes? Shellder’s Gate was made to answer these questions.
Slates will be divided into two categories: Class and Pokémon
More Details:
-This is a natdex micrometa, so you can use any Pokémon as a base to submit, but this meta will otherwise exist on its own.
-Terastalization’s banned
-Custom abilities, moves, and items may be allowed at the council’s discretion if they fit the submission, and custom and non-custom abilities, moves, and items can be tied to class restrictions as well.
-At least one class restriction must state that the edited Pokemon must already embody that restriction before editing the mon.

SHELLDER’S GATE
If Pokémon had RPG classes, what would they be? With those, what kind of Pokémon would have those classes? Shellder’s Gate was made to answer these questions.
Slates will be divided into two categories: Class and Pokémon
Each class slate is based on a stat (HP, Atk…). At the end of each of these slates, 2 classes will be created by the community by adding specific restrictions to those classes. One restriction is guaranteed in every slate: the Pokémon’s highest stat must be the state the slate is about. For example, say that in the Special Attack slate, someone submits the Pyromancer class, stating that aside from having SpA as its highest stat, any Pokémon designated in the Pyromancer class must either start with being a Fire type or using a Fire type move effectively. At the end of each slate, 3 classes will be created, one with the sole restriction of the highest stat, and two with submitted restrictions. Note that with each class restriction, including the initial stat one, you must note whether you can only submit Pokémon that already fit that specific role or you can change any Pokémon to fit it.
Pokémon slates come after every class slate, and modders can submit up to 2 Pokémon in either of the modder-made classes and up to 3 in the base class, for a total of 7 Pokémon. To create a qualifying Pokémon, you should take a Pokémon that already fits the bill/and or find a mon you want to edit to fit and buff it to around a Gen 9 OU level. You can buff these mons in any way, from stats to types to moves to abilities to even custom items. An example would be to submit to the Pyromancer class by slapping on Skeledirge and calling it a day, or taking the Will-o-wisp user Rotom and making it faster and tankier to burn foes more consistently and maybe even live afterward to continue later.

Primary Stat: Special Attack (B) (please mark B for before or A for after next to the primary stat, this may be the first limited in which Pokémon you can use for the slate, but regardless the Pokémons’ highest stat must be the one listed here)
Extra Restrictions before Pokémon phase:
- This Pokémon must already normally use a Fire move (reminder that it’s mandatory to have one restriction required of a Mon before they’re edited)
- This Pokémon must start with at least one of the following types: Fire, Psychic, Dragon, Ghost, Electric
Extra Restrictions in Pokémon phase:
- This Pokémon may only end up having the following types: Fire, Psychic, Dragon, Ghost, and Electric (The Pokémon you submit doesn’t initially need to have two of these types, but you must give them two of these types, or one if you go for one type)
Description/Justification: Use this to explain why there should be multiple Pokémon that fill this role. Perhaps it’s a roundabout way to get Will-o-wisp mons, or there’s just not enough of the aforementioned types. Maybe a special attacker with a fire move would serve as a good wall breaker against a defensive Steel type threat. Just remember that you should give your Classes purpose, and here’s where you can explain that purpose.

Class: Pyromancer (remember that there will be 3 classes to choose from in every Pokémon phase)
Type: Fire / Ghost (previously Fire/Ghost) (If required by the class restrictions you may want to mark what type the Mon had prior to editing. This fits both type-based criteria)
Stats: 104 HP / 75 Atk / 100 Def / 110 SpA / 75 SpD / 66 Spe (530 BST) (Skeledirge’s highest stat is naturally SpA, which completes that restriction, and I left its stats unchanged because it’s already really damn good)
Abilities: Blaze, Unaware
Move Changes:
+ N/A
- N/A
Custom Elements: N/A
Justification: Here’s where you may list out the completed but not yet mentioned restrictions, such as Skeledirge using Torch Somg in base sets, and where you can explain why this Mon specifically would fit the class well. Perhaps beyond needing a wall breaker with a Fire move it would have to deal with a Swords Dancing Water type, so Unaware may let it take a hit when another fire Mon otherwise wouldn’t.
