[SET]

Shaymin @ Leftovers / Life Orb
128Atk/128Sp.Atk/252Spe

-Swords Dance
-Seed Bomb
-Hidden Power Fire / Hidden Power Ice
-Earth Power

[SET COMMENTS]

-Shaymin has very all rounded stats, meaning that this can take both physical and special walls (Namely destroying both Blissey and Skarmory if you use Hidden Power Fire)
-This set greatly appreciates Shaymin’s natural bulk and uses it to Setup Sweep by utilizing it’s speed
-Hidden Power Fire can be used to beat Skarmory and Forretress
-Hidden Power Ice can be used to beat Dragonite
-Earth Power is used to beat Heatran and other Fire types

[OPTIONAL CHANGES]

-More Evs can be invested into Special attack if you think Swords Dance is enough.
196Sp.atk/60atk/252spe

[TEAM OPTIONS]
- If you are using Hidden Power Ice, then a good teammate would be Magnezone, traps Forretress and Skarmory who don’t carry Shed Shell.
- If you are using Hidden Power Fire, then you should use Scarflygon, which is faster than Dragonite and can KO it in one hit

[COUNTERS]
Infernape and Scarf Heatran are faster and can Fire Blast Shaymin down.

Mixed Shaymin is simply a bad idea. Swords Dancing for the sake of boosting one move when you already have the Superior Seed Flare isn't advisable. Not only that, the split EVs means that the special attacks you possess are weaker. I can't see any reason to use this over the Standard Special Attacker shaymin. Blissey isn't even KO'd by a boosted Seed Bomb. Sorry but I'm going to have to reject this

QC Rejected 1/3

Hmmm... But when I was making this, I would've thought that the point of this was to break both physical and special walls. The strongest part about this set is the elememtal surprise, and surprisingly, at many times, it does work better than the Standard Shaymin set, however, I will give your ideas some though

Thank you for replying (even if it is a rejection)

I agree that swords dance isn't a viable move for Shaymin when you have Seed Flare. Just because Shaymin has good stats doesn't mean you can make mixed or physical sets. Surprise is good, but not always applicable.

I agree entirely with my colleague, and can't see the utility in using a mixed Shaymin, considering that it's basically the worst of both worlds (not as much punch on its special attacks, and physical grass is iffy at best).

QC REJECTED 2/3

Also, I'd like to remind you to follow thread naming and content conventions. If an analysis already exists for the Pokemon in question, the thread should contain only one set, and it should be named "Pokemon (Set Name)"

Thank you for your suggestions, perhaps I should have focused more on one side of offensiveness, instead of mixing.... Hmm... Thanks for the sprites of inspiration.

I'd like to remind you that testing a set is a prerequisite for posting it. Just coming up with 'something surprising' doesn't constitute testing it, nor does using it against terrible players on the ladder. Every time you play with this set, you will say to yourself "I wish I had Earth Power" or "I wish I had Rest" or "I wish my attacks hit harder". You'll see immediately that this is absolutely inferior to the special attacker in all ways. Swords Dance and Seed Bomb taking out Blissey (especially when Seed Flare can sharply reduce SpD already) in no way makes up for losing coverage and the ability to heal Shaymin or a Choice item's boost.

This pretty clearly won't pass QC, and I know Setsuna well enough to know that he will agree with that sentiment. Moved to L&O.
