As the known Scarlet and Violet Ubers Mastermind and Visionary Player and Builder that I am, I feel it my Responsibility to share my Unbiased and Completely Objective and Informed Opinions on this Pool and collect some HaHa reactions as Currency. However, I'm an Idiot. I cannot go the Lengths of assigning Numerical Values to the Ten Teams. Thus, I'll just provide My Comments on Them All in the order that is in the OP.
Note: I'll add some people that I think should count as helpers but were not deemed so by the corrupt and 4ft8in tall Ubers Tier Leaders (yes both have the same height).
Power Plant Dynamos -
fade, TJ, DAHLI, Mashing,
Tricking - I have zero idea how much and how well fade plays Ubers, how much TJ has kept up in his time in the Mountains, how much of DAHLI's Ubers Open Success can be converted to mere support, and does Mashing really count as "support" or just a Cook with no Reins. But it's a fresh metagame so past knowledge, while holding some value, will not be a dealbreaker. TJ and DAHLI might be the voice of reason, balancing the noise of chaos coming from Mashing and Tricking's camp, so I'm expecting some fun teams that Mainers might scoff at. Piloting those cool teams should work to strengths of fade the player, so I'm expecting one of three things - a +2 performance, a -2 performance, or a crash and burn. I also predict that fade will not play Ubers in all weeks of regular season. I heard Tricking will Heart react to a friend's post, then 4 months later change it to a HaHa.
Indigo Platoon -
SiTuM,
starmaster, Tony, SuperEpicAmpharos, teal6 - The 4ft5in tall Tiers Leaders declared SiTuM to be Alone.
spits How silly of them. There are Honest Cooks in the Platoon, all of them having proven many times that they can learn and build strongly in new metagames. This should help overcome one of SiTuM's few glaring weaknesses - running into terrible matchups vs common stuff and complain his way out of them. I think he can be a Great Player, and I disagree that he's a tilter - I've seen him play well in bad positions many times. Complaining is not equal to tilting, people. He also doesn't know what nerves are, being one of the three Ubers Mainers (all French) that claim to be the Greatest Ever. I expect him to have a Positive Season. I heard teal6 has submitted a request to Tony that he cannot not support Platoons till at least one started is injured.
Uncharted Terrors -
RichardMillePlain, Inder - Their preparation channel will be muted by everyone else immediately as it'll just be a barrage of French and nonsense Emojis. These two are very familiar with each other's Brain, and behind the Closed Doors I expect they'll come up with many a great ideas. Richard, being a French who does not shout his own acclamation, may face some nerves and that could impact his performance. If he can get through that soon enough he should have a Good Season. Also Inder will play some weeks. I heard he puts ketchup on his cereal.
Orange Islanders -
Exiline, Tier - And the 3rd French Player and Ubers Main who is the Greatest Ever. Funnily, all the Three French Greatest Ubers Players combined for 2 Points in Ubers Open. The Islanders will have to make him sit down and teach him about all the new Pokemon, Moves, and Mechanics, because the only Scarlet and Violet gaming Exiline saw was in his Round 1 loss of Ubers Open to false. If he can learn soon enough, then with help from Tier he should have a positive season again. Despite my Vast Knowledge I do not know much about Tier except their score in UPL, but I wish them Good Luck in putting up with The Employed Exiline. Tier has been found feeding bread to ducks many times.
Studio Gible -
Fc, Fogbound Lake - Finally someone who did OK in the Ubers Open (DAHLI is not starting Ubers). The Exiline Slayer went with a wise choice in the 4ft3in tall Fc, who picked this name because he was Fed crayons. Now that he's finally grown out of that phase of his life, I'm expecting even bigger things from the Tier Leader. Fogbound Lake is a weird player sometimes, but the support should be very good and we should see solid teams being led to victory by Fc being the second luckiest guy in the playing pool. Sometimes Fc still munches on a green colored crayon because it reminds him of grass.
Circuit Breakers -
M Dragon, Gondra
Garay oak, Lunala - Two solid players, and I have no idea how much they've played Ubers this year. Garay and Lunala are very good support to help with that, and M Dragon did do well Two Years Ago in this competition, but I think he was more involved with Ubers then than currently. Still, he has good support around him and his basics are sound, but since he hasn't impressed in Scarlet and Violet so far, I'm expecting a +1/-1 record. Some say that to this day, M Dragon thinks Tyranitar is a Dragon type, and everyone is too scared to correct him.
Arena Spartans -
Icemaster, Taka - It's nice to see a Doubles Mainer like Icemaster try out new avenues, and I hope he'll find Ubers fun and welcoming. He has done well in Doubles in other tournaments, mainly in Sword and Shield when he was the Doubles Tier Leader, so plenty of experience is there. He had a 6-4 record in Doubles Two Years Ago in this competition, so he's used to the big stage as well. Having only picked up Ubers this year, I hear Icemaster has shown good performances in Ubers Open and the ongoing Circuit Seasonal. Taka is a very good support for someone new like Icemaster, and I expect these two to form a very close friendship and provide a decent result for their team. Icemaster's good friend, skoopa, also regained freedom on Smogon today which should provide a very strong morale boost. His friends have mentioned that skloomer's ban caused heavy emotional distress for Icemaster, and he has been behaving very differently ever since. Icemaster also
bullied this lady.
Technical Machines -
Entrocefalo, Aberforth - The Machines have decided that the luck of 4ft2in tall Tier Leader is better served in OU, where it might spill over to their other slots as well. Entrocefalo instead starts Ubers after very successful Ubers Open and UPL performances. With the momentum on his side, and gameplay that declares he's not a fluke, Entrocefalo is poised to have a dominant performance in SCL. Aberforth's support is inversely proportional to his height, which means the best support in The Tournament, and together, on paper, this is the strongest Ubers party in the tournament. Sadly, I do not know either of them well enough, and their friends have refused to provide any fun tidbits to share. A few of them looked mortified.
Mt. Silver Foxes -
Highlord - I can only assume that Highlord was in the Mountains, working to improve his Bronzong's Hypnosis accuracy even further, and the Foxes just ran into him and picked him up. Besides a repurposed Tentacruel team and a bad version of a terrible outdated team, both in ORAS, humanity has seldom seen Highlord venture outside of DPP Ubers. Perhaps he's attracted to the Taunt Arceus speedties, or the Drive By Dragon speedties, or the the possibility of putting things to sleep with Darkrai. Whatever the reason, he has decided to play Scarlet and Violet Ubers and it should be entertaining either way and I have no idea what to expect. Wise choice by the Foxes to not get any obvious support, as Highlord only takes help from Nineveh/Lauriane/Banned Deucers. People have witnessed Highlord printing out each and every one of "
Highlord won the battle!" messages and carrying them around with him at all times.
Showdown Shoguns -
SoulWind, Edgar - The Shoguns have gone for a pairing that was alive to witness the actual Shogunate with their very eyes. SoulWind and Edgar have no fond memories of playing Ubers in SCL, so the upside is that it can only get better from here. The player is there, everyone knows that, but translating it to Ubers is still a WIP so far. Edgar boasting of possessing mysterious knowledge to easily counter the Drive By Dragons means he's very confident in his metagame knowledge and should be very good support. So all they have to do is give SoulWind a team that results in a non-terrible matchup. In past 2 SCLs, SoulWind has started with a win in the first week, and a 2-1 record by Week 3. After that things have always gone downhill, so perhaps they just need to be on their toes about their prep and not becoming too predictable. In my infinite Armchairing Capacity and Wisdom of "I would've done something else", I cannot predict how this will end. Some people have said Edgar only signed up because he heard the nonsense about "Koraidon is like Genesect" and that Darkrai is back. Someone should break the truth to him very carefully.
----------
That's it. I have not predicted anyone to have a bad season, because people are only picked at this level due to the very small chance of them doing poorly in the first place. Sure some cores are stronger than others, but in each of them there is a player capable of dismantling the playing field. I find ranking them very difficult as well, as after Top 5, it becomes very difficult, specially to rank someone last in a purely relative list because they're still good.
I would like to wish good luck to all the competitors, and a good weekend ahead to all who read this line.
