SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

Dipplin has 2 wyrms, it could become a caduceus. Sandaconda likely cant, its only one snake.
Victini maybe, Rayquaza getting it no.

Likewise I can see Manaphy coming back. Take Heart is in a similar position

New Unova Game (TM) is likely far enough in the pipeline that it's still set for 2024 or whatever; I'd bet that comment was more in mind for games that are only just now entering production or pre-production.
Yeah, I can see that.

Another move that is in the game, but isn’t learned by any base game pokemon, is V-Create. Does this mean Victini and V-Create Rayquaza are coming back?

I will be the guy who says, if there is a Legends Unova. It’s not as guaranteed as some fans hope it will, remember, BDSP was also semi successful, currently as successful as PLA, as far as we know. And the Switch 2 is leaked to release early next year, and the Pokemon Company is considering not releasing a new game each year, which means we might not get a Legends/Remake Unova till 2025. It might be announced in 2024, but it will be likely released 2025. Or this post could age like milk, in which case, I guess.

Take Heart is actually the only PLA move not usable ingame despite having its description updated, but on the other hand Heart Swap is usable despite having the generic "removed" description.

Bulbapedia says it can be called by Metronome so I think some wires got crossed one way or another

I am sure that Metronome cannot call any moves without the CanUseMove flag enabled, and Bulbapedia also said that Sketch and V-create can be called via Metronome when they explicitly cannot due to the Metronome flag being false, so I don't think any real thought or research was put into copy and pasting this fabrication into every removed signature move page for some reason, especially when Metronome's own page lists the unusable moves accurately.

Incidentally Bulbapedia has images of the actually still usable moves being used in SV by Metronome like Heart Swap and Grassy Glide for confirmation.

Yeah, Meteor Beam can also be called

Ngl I think people are reading way too much into "unova hints" solely because the leaker said an unova game is coming, despite the fact Pokémon really does not do as much "foreshadowing" as people think

SwSh had barely any Sinnoh content and we got BDSP and Legends shortly after. XY had barely any Hoenn countent as well. The only one you could argue is Gen 7 having a lot of Kanto content being followed up by Lets Go but that is obviously bc of the franchise's anniversary

Here the only genuine connection so far is Drayton being related to Drayden, and that shouldn't mean much either. PLA had a character related to Wulfric so where is the XY remake? Kabu's family is from Hoenn so should that mean we will get a new Hoenn game? No of course not. Also want to point out Lacey has the same butterfly decorations in her clothes that Tulip has, but I don't see anyone thinking they might be related because of this.

Same goes for "The Swords of Justice got a new form because they want to hint at Unova", that has never made sense to me. Making a design for the sole purpose of hinting at a future game sounds very illogical to me from a character designer standpoint - the Pokémon will exist forever while the game its supposed to foreshadow would be announced around 1 year after the mon itself at most. And again, when has that ever been the case for Pokémon? Did Gen 6 have a new Kanto game because of Mega Mewtwo? Did Gen 8 have a new Kanto game because of the Galarian Birds? Or a Hoenn game because of the brand new Regis? Obviously not, so I don't see why treat the paradox blades as a hint rather than just happening to debut before a leaked Unova game. (If anything, we are getring a ton of Galar content with 3 new mons being extensions of previous Galar mons + the main character and Penny both being from Galar, but obviously no one would think a new Galar game is xoming because of that. People are just doing that exact same train of thought for Unova because they know a new Unova game is coming so they think every Unova-related thing is a hint despite the fact other gens also get callbacks here)

I get that a lot of this discussion comes from Khu's teases, but you have to keep in mind Khu is a greedy attention-seeker. He knows this whole "oooo unova hints" scooby doo charades gets people talking so obviously he will keep trying to allude to that. Knowing that there is an Unova game coming shouldn't mean every Unova thing we get in SV is a hint when other gens also get new things

I actually see more visual similarities with Alder and Crispin than Chilli given their multiple warm tones in their hair. Also I thought given Amarys challenge that she was a flying type specialist
One additional similarity I see between Crispin and Chili (besides their red hair and stronger expressions on their faces) is that Crispin likes holding a frying pan, and Chili works in a restaurant. (In comparison, I think Drayton doesn't really resemble Drayden looks-wise.)

His charades do get real tiring. I'd much rather have the sort of leaks most other franchises have where it's a clear "this is what's gonna be in it" and have to see if it's right or wrong later rather than deal with trying decrypt something with as much intelligibility as that hieroglyphic hymn almost entirely written in crocodiles. It may be true, but when the only way you can check is after the event to know what is going on it may as well not be.

Especially odd as Duraludon had a gigantamax. I know Pikachu and Eevee did and those were low levels, but all of the previous low level Pokemon with gigantamax were essentially the mascots of the game.

There are other Pokemon from gen 1-3 that have bad BST that could possibly use a new evolution because they became so outclassed as time went on. Duraludon was an odd choice.

But can you transfer the Sinnoh starters in once DLC1 is out?
The Sinnoh starters and Shaymin will be transferrable when the DLC drops next week, and you'll find the starters in game during Indigo Disk

I think it's a strong possibility (they're shown in Kitakami and it's their go-to image for advertising the Home connection), but strictly speaking it isn't confirmed as far as I know.

I just had a thought. I thought it was interesting how the Mewtwo raids had that completely new and otherwise not used for anything else “apply a multiplier to each of your stats and set them as your new stat” mechanic for Mews that enter the raid… you think that’s how Ogerpon’s mask abilities work? Like instead of having an Intrepid Sword-esque effect, maybe all the Ogerpon formes have the same “base” stats, but depending on which mask you have, one of those stats gets a 1.2x or greater multiplier on switchin and then that just gets set as its new stat? Might make senses as to why they were programming a new stat mechanic only to seemingly just use it for a single raid.

The multiplier effect isn't anything new; if something boosts a stat without being a Stage modifier it's usually a final multiplier on the actual stat
Ruin abilities have a negative multiplier, the Paradox abilities have a positive multiplier. Going way back to gen 3, Huge/Pure Power also work similarly; it's a x2 multiplier on the final attack stat.

e: This isn't to say Ogrepon's Embody Aspect doesn't work like this, just that what Mew did isn't really "new" and thus not necessarily how Ogrepon works.

People already discussing how the functionality is in the game, so I just have some "Watsonian" or within-story comments to add.

It's possible that the mechanic is intended for future raid or "story" fight interactions rather than a normal battle mechanic of the Pokemon. Maybe Ogrepon gets a boost fighting the Loyal 3 or Vice Versa in some plot sequences, or they will do other Raid fights to encourage using related Pokemon like a Trio Master vs a member of said Trio. One thing it brings to mind is the "cheer" boosts from the Final Boss fight in the main campaign, which were applied as stat stages but thematically fit the idea as well (a battle where your Pokemon has a personal reason to fight harder than they normally do), and comes to mind particularly since the DLC ties back to Area Zero.

The Trio thing especially stands out because it was a way to make Mew, something statistically inferior to Mewtwo as a normal raider, easily the best go-to option on Offense or Defense. They could do it similarly to make a Pokemon win a fight that statistically it shouldn't but narratively they want it to, or to bolster a weak point for something thematic like "Train Keldeo" and having it fight the other Swords of Justice for one example (Virizion Grass issue not withstanding).

All the IoA moves are callable
The real question, do koraidon get scale shot, and does Miraidon get rising voltage?
I always find Pokemon leakers to be the most bizarre. It gets quite annoying when we have to have a masters in literature and solve complex calculus just to learn that the apple dragon may in fact become a slightly bigger apple dragon.

This is clearly a slight exaggeration for Pokemon leaks, but I have never seen other leakers for other games this damn obtuse. Also I feel like we are really stretching the definition of "riddle". Like how is posting an image of Mightyena, Lycanroc, Umbreon and Weavile and merely saying "which or none of them?" supposed to do to help us discover the answer. That's not a riddle, and no I am not bitter that the GOAT Mightyena isn't getting an evolution why do you ask?
LOL

Tbf, this is entirely limited to like Khu and the original Chinese leaker, and it might seem that way bc of recency bias. Most of the relevant Pokémon leaks have been through sources that cut through the bullshit - e.g. Kaka when he was dumping the game or most anonymous 4chan posters that drop trailers or entire games on the site. It’s honestly been mostly fine lol

Personally I'm just waiting for the day Khu comes out of hiding and revealing he's Junichi Masuda himself and he's just making fun of the fans that kept trashtalking him for the last decade and enjoying watching them struggle to understand his riddles.
