This lethal lizard crawls its way into NU! Nasty Plot elevates its already high Special Attack stat, and combined with its great Speed, makes it a threatening sweeper. Fire Blast is an excellent STAB attack that notably OHKOes foes such as Scyther and Shaymin. Sludge Bomb is another great STAB option that offers a high poison chance while also threatening Pokemon like Rotom-C and Florges. In turn, Tera Dark heightens its sweeping potential by making it immune to Psychic Fangs from Bruxish and letting it survive incoming Ghost- and Dark-type priority attacks from Decidueye and Toxicroak. Encore offers Salazzle setup opportunities against slower foes, such as Gligar that has used Stealth Rock the previous turn, locking them into an unfavorable move. Being as frail as it is, Salazzle appreciates bulky partners like Sandaconda and Gligar against threats like Hariyama. Salazzle struggles against Ground-types, so Pokemon such as Shaymin, Bronzong, and Altaria are favorable partners. Salazzle also values offensive partners like Toxicroak, as it helps against Water-type threats like Tatsugiri and Qwilfish.
