(Marowak-Alola) @ Thick Club
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Shadow Bone
- Flare Blitz - Focus Punch
- Bonemerang
This marowak alola breaks most of what it normally does but with a twist. A fast spread lets it outspeed some annoying walls it wouldn't be able too like umbreon and p2 using bulkier spreads and weaken them heavily them before they can hit it or finish It off should It be weakened It also lets it outspeed offensive webs araquanid and at worst speed ties with mega ampharos. Because of how hard to wall its stabs are in conjunction with Bonemerang I chose focus punch as a way to send one of it's best checks in snorlax to the shadow realm so it can't set up on you. In addition to this it either kills checks to marowak daring to tank it's stabs such as mandibuzz attempting to roost off flare blitz, defensive porygon2, in addition to weakening rhyperior to the point where shadow bone finishes it off.
252+ Atk Thick Club Marowak-Alola Focus Punch vs. 188 HP / 128 Def Snorlax: 616-726 (121.2 - 142.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Thick Club Marowak-Alola Focus Punch vs. 248 HP / 76+ Def Mandibuzz: 418-494 (98.8 - 116.7%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO after Leftovers recovery dark typing is removed to account for roost.
252+ Atk Thick Club Marowak-Alola Focus Punch vs. 252 HP / 104 Def Eviolite Porygon2: 338-398 (90.3 - 106.4%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO

Marowak-Alola @ Thick Club
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Atk / 44 Spe
Adamant Nature - Belly Drum
- Flame Charge
- Shadow Bone
- Low Kick / Knock Off
double dance marowak
The idea is basically click Belly Drum and spam flame charge, broken yn
Marowak-Alola @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
IVs: 0 HP / 0 Def / 0 SpD
- Stealth Rock
- Endeavor
- Rock Tomb
- Flare Blitz
Worst suicide lead of all time, but will predict this.
Toxic Marowak-Alola

Ability: Rock Head

Adamant Nature

- Toxic
- Bonemerang
General idea
Swords Dance is really threatening on a pokemon like this that has a Choice Band without drawbacks (Thick Club), but I find myself forced to switch-out when the opponent switches onto a Water type.
Even at full health Marowak is prone to be revenge killed due to the lack of reliable recovery.
For example:
0 SpA Milotic Scald vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Marowak-Alola: 206-246 (63.7 - 76.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO,
but with the ban of Entei Milotic can use a more offensive spread like this one:
168 SpA Milotic Scald vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Marowak-Alola: 246-290 (76.1 - 89.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO, so you are dead with a single SR damage .
Toxic allows us to catch the majority of our revenge killers off-guard and to put a timer on them. You are still forced out, but you leave a poisoned (=weakened) pokemon behind you without wasting a turn.
EVs spread and item
44 Spe EVs are enough to reach 137 Spe points, one point higher than 0 Spe Registeel, so you can OHKO it with ease.
The remaining EVs are put in the HP for extra bulk and Atk + Adamant nature.

My vote goes for Focus Punch Alolan Marowak. Remember to vote by thursday!
Congratulations to BeralRed2103 for winning cycle 2! Your set will be added to Hall of Fame.
Alright, lets hop into one more cycle:
Cycle 3: Mega Blastoise!
Mega Blastoise is one of the Pokémon that benefited the most from Entei departure. Not having to run bulk to deal with it anymore allows Mega Blastoise to profit the most from it's amazing base of 135 Special Attack and a great ability in Mega Launcher, which boost some of its coverage options even further. Just as most of the starter Pokémon, Mega Blastoise has a lot of coverage moves and status options poured into its movepool. What will the builders do with it for this week?
Aura Sphere is an alternative to the utility move Rapid Spin that perfects Mega Blastoise's neutral coverage (with a Mega Launcher boost) to threaten the likes of Snorlax, Umbreon, Registeel and Porygon2, which otherwise hard check this Mega.
The only move not boosted by its ability is Ice Beam and Water Pulse is as strong as Surf thanks to Mega Launcher, but with the small chance of a useful side effect.
The lack of Entei in the tier allows us to forget EVs investment into Blastoise's bulk, thus focusing our attention on its offensive capabilities.

grats to lep for winning cycle 3! lets ramp it up:
Cycle 4: Milotic!
Milotic has always been a staple on the tier for the enormous defensive utility it provides by being a sturdy and reliable wall, able to keep some of the best offensive menaces of the tier in check and having a large pool of options, despite being very one dimensional and able to predict regularly. What can we do with the most beautiful Pokémon?
