I'm pretty hyped. I found RE5 to be a disappointment, so hopefully this game delivers.
 
RE5 was a huge disappointment, I can't say I expect much more out of this one. What I DO expect is overpriced DLC containing things that should already be on the disc...is it weird that the game was just announced and I'm already expecting Capcom to rip us all off again?

Please let Capcom have learned their lesson from 5. Please let this game pretend 5 never happened.
 
shit does anyone feel sorry for chris redfield? the guy has non-stop been fighting zombies/zombie-like things for like 10+ years now. leon and jill are in similar positions.

that would actually be a cool plot point. just how fucking tired they are from fighting these scary fucking things and the ptsd they inherited from their experiences.

Wesker is hands-down the worst part of the Resident Evil series. He was AMAZING in REmake and RE0 but he should have died in the explosion at the mansion.
 
Okay am I the only person who kind of enjoyed Re5. Coop was fun, but playing singleplayer was shit.

And Re6 looks pretty sweet. Leon is back.

but seriously, echoing sentiments that RE4 was epic (RE5 wasn't great, but wasn't as bad as people say) and I'm hoping for a lot more dialogue/back story. I can't decide if I want the gameplay to go back to the originals or try something new though...
 
I never liked Leon... I think it has to do with his haircut. I'm also annoyed the extremely overrated manga-esque nerd fantasy Ada Wong gravitates around him.

Just give me Claire, the one character that doesn't fucking claim to be a world beater but still gets the job done in the end (sort of).
 
You really like what they did with him in 4 and 5? He turned into a Sephiroth.

He was one of the greatest villains ever in REmake (seriously the original version was shit. the gamecube remake is one of the best games ever) but they just turned him into a cartoon character. In 1 he created a team of bad asses to test his pet monsters against. He made these people trust them and then he lead them to their death. He does it all with his brain and his bad ass gun.

I don't even remember the plot to five I just remember he catches rockets.

Yeah poor guys, quite a rough life they have there haha. I mean Leon was just a rookie cop in RE2 and for his first mission he ended up in Raccoon City.. Poor guy.
I just hope this is as good as the 4 or... even better .
 
You can thank Code Veronica for turning Wesker into the recurring (flanderized) big bad. The game started the trends that "WESKER PLANNED EVERYTHING EVER IN RE!" and "WESKER CAN'T DIE BECAUSE OF PLOT-FUCKERY HIS SUPER AWESOME VIRUS POWERS!"
Well for that, and the abominable transformation of the series' plot into a shit-storm of double crosses, half-hearted social commentary and increasingly ridiculous villains.
 
Hopefully it will give us that old Survival horror style we all love and know! I was never into Third Person Shooter RE5.

PS:Fuck yeah Leon is back.
 
This is easily my most anticipated game of 2012, passing Mass Effect 3 and Street Fighter x Tekken.

I thought Resident Evil 5 was pretty great, but co-op was a necessity to really enjoy the game because the partner AI was terrible. That's not to say it doesn't have its issues though; namely, the game stepped away from a cinematic campaign experience. The addition of chapter select, very obtainable infinite ammo, and universal inventory made the game more Arcade-like than a true campaign like RE4 had.

Also for those wondering about Wesker, he won't be showing up. Maybe he'll get a mention by Chris, but he won't be showing up. He's dead, the producers of the series made it official that he died at the end of 5. They acknowledge he's gone and are moving on.

EDIT: Also I hope they plan to release this on PC. I know 5 was released at a later time than the console versions, but it would be nice if they had a simultaneous launch.
