RATE MY STANDARD TEAM

Hey this is my first RMT ever and i really wanna see wut others think of my team and what are its flaws. Ill list my team, then explain what each is for....

AMBIPOM (ftw....!!!)
UMBREON
SCIZOR
SKARMORY
DRIFBLIM
RATICATE

AMBIPOM (M) @ Silk Scarf
Technician Jolly 252 Atk/252 Spd/6HP
- Fake Out
- T-wave
- Shadow Claw
- U-turn

I just love this thing....!!! Its amazing, first Fake Out (duh), then U-turn to something that I predict can take the hit. T-wave just in case I wanna spread status, and Shadow Claw for Ghosts. Love my lil lead...!!!

SKARMORY (M) @ Leftovers
Sturdy Impish 252 def/ 200 sp def/ 58 HP

- SR
- Spikes
- Roost
- Brave Bird

Ok this is my SR and Spiker... Can take Physical hits like a champ, and some special hits as well... when HP is low, Roost off... Brave Bird if I can kill something with it... Roost gets me the win almost always here, cuz most people arent expecting my Skarm to have Roost, seeing it has SR and Spikes, but Im full of surprises....!!

umbreon_display.png

UMBREON (M) @ Leftovers
Relaxed 200 def/ 200 sp def/ 110 HP

- Wish
- Heal Bell
- Protect
- Toxic

=) My umbreon is so awesome...!! Bulky, yet cute...!! This is my staller/cleric/healer/wutever.... Wish to heal any of my sweepers, and Heal Bell to heal off status. Toxic to spread status around and Protect to get a free Wish healing, or just to accumulate Toxic damage and annoy other players...!! =)

drifblim.png

DRIFBLIM (F) @ leftovers
Unburden Timid 252 HP/ 252 Speed/ 6 Def
- Hypnosis
- Attract
- Substitute
- Baton Pass

What I have noticed is that the metagame plays mostly with male pokemon... I wonder why, but why no exploit that to my advantage...!??! Attract a male opponent, if they switch i get a free Sub up, if they stay, Hypnosis them, then Baton Pass my HUGE sub. Easy as that... If Hypnosis hax misses, Leftover to regain health.

SCIZOR (M) @ Muscle Band
Technician Adamant 252 Atk/100 Spd/152 def/6 HP
- Bullet Punch
- Bug Bite
- Brick Break
- SD

Ahh Scizor... how thou art you a strong beast, uhhh, bug, wutever....!! SD is the obvious first thing to do, if I can, get another SD up, SD again. BP STAB, Bug Bite STAB and Base 90 with stab, and might steal a pinch berry or random Sitrus berry around... Brick Break for any steel that wants to ruin my Scizor's party.

RATICATE (M) @ Flame Orb
Guts Adamant 252 atk/ 252 spd/ 6 sp def
- SD
- Return
- Zen Headbutt
- Flame Wheel

You might ask, "A Raticate...???!!, Those are ANNOYING....!!!" They sure are, but wutever, I love using pokemon that others dont usually use...!!! With SD, I get a sky high ATTK (lol) plus Guts, and WOW...!!! First, behind a sub, use SD, flame orb activates, so does Guts... Now, use Return to smash anything, any if steel some around, Flame Wheel them, and any fighting type wants to come a Tae kwon Do Raticate to oblivion, Zen Headbutt them.

And thats my team.... How and what needs improvement, my flaws, or weaknesses. Thankx a lot....!!! I really worked hard on this team...!!!

First, behind a sub, use SD, flame orb activates, so does Guts...
for starters, I'd be really interested on finding out how you plan on setting up Sub, what with none of your team members carrying it... this could be a potent strategy indeed... Matter of fact PM it to me, I don't want anyone else knowing how to cure 4 moveslot syndrome.
but seriously, while you do seem to have some OK basic-level knowledge, this team would need to be pretty much rebuilt entirely to really function. I know, the truth hurts, but really there's no two ways about it. For example, your Scizor. Use Life Orb, or maybe Leftovers, Muscle Band doesn't work. And in general Drifblim and Raticate aren't competitively viable, or at least in OU. And your Scizor EV spread needs work. I'd go with standard 4HP/252ATK/252SPE.

I can point out a Roobushin weakness. A standard Mach punch, drain punch, payback, bulk up set could destroy Skarmory, as you have no ways of phasing. The priority Mach punch wouldnt give you a chance for raticate to SD, and it would die before you could do anything. It can proceed to destroy your umbreon and aipibom, as a fake out will do very little against Roobushin. Payback would deal with your ballon, as it has only superficial "threats." instead, make Raticate a Roobushin who can also be a guts sweeper, but also has priority. At least this would mitigate your fighting weakness somewhat.
Also, addressing the above post he plans to baton pass it from the balloon.
Dark angel, if you take this team for a spin you'll probably find the most obvious problems with it. The premis is OK, but as of now has no execution.

You seem pretty new so I'll try to help you out, pm me if you want further explanations.

Ok, starting with your lead, what are you trying to accomplish? Eveery lead should have a goal. It doesn't set up any entry hazards and isn't too useful later in the game. Silk scarf is useless since it boosts fake out 20% to a base of 72 instead of 60 after technician, nothing too impressive. Try replacing silk scarf with focus sash at least so it doesn't get ohkoed.

Skarmory- Definetely put 252ev's in HP since skarmory's base hp is so low that 252 hp ev's will boost your (sp.)defense more than your current set up. something like 252hp/60def/192spdef can be used if you still want it to have special bulk. Also consider Roar in place of stealth rock since it takes advantage of your entry hazards and lets skarmory deal with things it can't damage with brave bird, otherwise it's too easy to set up 3 sword dances on skarmory.

drifblim-the attract strategy is gimmicky at best and some smarter players watching out for attract have all female and genderless pokemon (all legendaries) and 80 base speed isn't going to outspeed too much and 150/44/54 defenses are pretty poor. If you feel this is such a great strategy, jynx can attract too and has better bulk and better speed.

scizor-If you insist on not choice banding it then at least life orb, 10% boost to attack is pretty trivial. If residual damage is a HUGE problem even expert belt would be better. Also, any explanation on the ev's?

Raticate-um... people don't use raticate for a good reason. 81 base attack is fairly low and 97 base speed gets trolled by all base 100's. The only sub you have is from drifblim and even though a 125hp sub is pretty good, under 55/60/70 defenses, its not too hard to break through the sub.

@hullohihello I thought the same thing about Silk Scarf, but I checked the on-site analysis. It's slashed in, so I'm not going to bug him about it. And it's a bit obvious that the point of his lead isn't to EH, that's not the point of Fake Out leads.
@Ecl1pse He could swap in one of his EHs for Whirlwind. Problem solved. And Roobushin doesn't 'destroy' Skarm at all, unless it gets to like +3, lol.
However, I do suggest you change your lead to Kojondo, it does the same thing better. And oops, lol I didn't see that one on Drifblim. However, that's still not a really viable way to use substitute...

the only thing i can say is.. do a lot more research.. figure out the metagame more and how to actually play successfully. cuz this unfortunately is not the way. and at least use facade on raticate? cmon now

Yeah i meant facade over return...!! Also th!z !z a generat!on 4 team so no rooposh!n yet... Im not a newb tho...!! Thz team haz gotten me the w!n many t!mez but yeah i guess life orb for scizor is better... And with wut can i replace raticte...?? I was thinking of a special swper... Maybe togek!zz or gengar...

For a special sweeper for 4th gen you may be able to use lightningrod zapdos(you can use it 4th gen right?, otherwise pressure's ok too). Personally, I've found alot of success with zapdos on a few of my teams and is a great special sweeper as well as a wall. It works well to cover your electric weaknesses from skarmory, drifblim and has a great attacking power or 125 SpA and 100 Spe and has solid defenses 90/85/90. Here's an offensive zapdos set.
Zapdos @ Lifeorb
Lightningrod/Pressure
Timid (+Spe,-Atk)
252SpA/252Spe/4Hp
-Thunderbolt
-Heat Wave
-Hidden Power Ice/Grass
-Roost
Grass is for Swampert which would otherwise stall your team out and what I recommend. 4th gen doesn't has as much use for ice although it has better coverage.

You could also run specs if you want to and replace roost with u-turn. These are all directly from the sets posted here online.
