RarelyUsed CCAT - SS Omastar - Revision

Personally, I think Lanturn got chosen for completely different reasons, but it's not my place to make guesses as to why something was picked. Anyway, I think there's another Pokemon we're forgetting about: Rotom-C. If it's Scarfed and runs full coverage (as in VS, Leaf Storm, TBolt, HP Fire) nothing is safe, even if we added something like Braviary. I know we're slow as shit right now, but I'll worry about that in our last entry. Instead, I'm going to suggest this guy right here as it can beat Lilligant, draw in Flying-type moves for Omastar to setup on, and decimate any special wall that thinks it has a chance:

Bulky SD Gallade does quite a few things for us. For starters, it's a good offensive check to Lilligant, Rotom-C, and Sceptile as none have a chance to OHKO with their standard sets. (Grass Gem Lilligant beats Gallade, but we can always scout for that with Escavalier) Gallade gives us a physical sweeping option that can capitalize on Escavalier's wallbreaking prowess as well as beat down the Steel-types that plague Escavalier. Drain Punch keeps Gallade in good health and beats down most physical walls (good thing for Escavalier) Psycho Cut takes out Qwilfish, Amoonguss, and Roselia, the latter two of which may try to test their luck with Omastar's Ice Beam. Night Slash beats Slowking, Uxie, and Mesprit. Considering Specs Slowking is actually a p. major threat to this team right now thanks to its coverage on, well, everything we have and it still survives +2 HP Grass from Omastar, this is a pretty big deal imo. Here's the calcs against the Grass-types that are giving us issues right now:

Hmmm, Emboar is a really good addition to this team, but we are still really slow, and lack a mon to out pace threats like Swellow and Aerodactyl.

This gives us a good non-choiced revenge killer/late game cleaner while also having the utility of spikes which can help Omastar net some KOs that it can't with just stealth rock (Qwilfish and Slowking come to mind). It also gives a special attacker that doesn't need to set up first, which is pretty useful. I don't know what else to say.

I think that Cryogonal is necessary for this last slot, because we have 5 mons weak to Spikes and no poison type, rest of the team except Emboar is very slow so hazard users like Smeargle can get Spikes w/o too problems. Cryogonal also helps with our Ground type weakness (at least on the special side for sure), is another cool ofensive check to stuff like Sigyliph or Lilligant, especially the first can be annoying for this team with Heat Wave. Hidden Power Ground Cryogonal also helps against Lanturn which actually is one of the best checks to Shell Smash Omastar.

For the last teamslot, i would like to suggest SubSplit Rotom. I think it works great for this team since it provides a check to fighting types. It gets many setup opportunities and there are only 4 pokemon that resist it's stab (which can all be handled by Emboar). It also hits super effectively both Slowking and Sigilyph while doing a good chunk to most of the tier. The moves are all standard: Substitute for status protection and Pain Split to get health back. Shadow Ball and TBolt are stab moves. Rotom also helps the team with it's immunity to Ground moves/Spikes/TSpikes, getting many opportunities to switch in.

Note: With the addition of Rotom, the team has at least 1 resistance to every type.

This team is pretty weak to fighting spam (and ground spam when torterra is removesd) and mespirt can handle both. While a second scarfer can sometimes be redundant, a pokemon with an unwanted choice scarf will make omastar's setting up much easier. It can also act as a back up revenge killer in case omastar's rampage fails.

As previously mentioned, this team has a bit of trouble with both Fighting-type and Earthquake spam (only once Torterra is down for the latter), by using a Sigilyph in the last slot of our ccat, we get a very solid resistance/check to both offensive types (4x resist to fighting, a second complete immunity to ground, although Rock-type coverage moves could be problematic) along with a very solid offensive Pokemon that has a lot going for it otherwise. Sigilyph gives us another Grass-type resistance to work with on this team, providing us with yet another check to Grass-types that could potentially run Hidden Power Fire, such as Sceptile and Lilligant (Sigilyph can even take an unboosted Life Orb Hp Rock from either Pokemon and OHKO back with Heat Wave, which could potentially win a game). Outside of this, Sigilyph gives us a great secondary win condition to work with, setting up Calm Minds easily later on in the game thanks to its Speed and access to Magic Guard, and giving defensive teams an especially large amount of trouble, especially with the lack of attack IVs on this particular set to weaken Spiritomb's Foul Play as much as possible (never 2HKO's from full HP if i did the calc right). Sigilyph also happens to set up all over three (possibly more depending on the particular set) of Omastar's most common checks and counters: Amoonguss, Roselia, and Ferroseed, making it a great way to threaten and get rid of these Pokemon and open up a sweep for Omastar Meanwhile the rest of the team helps against Sigilyph's checks and counters quite a bit, with Emboar and Escavalier helping out against Dark-types that pose a direct threat to Sigilyph and really bulky Psychic-types that might try to cripple Sigilyph with Thunder Wave, making it easier to pick off with a teammate, Omastar can even set up on Choiced Pursuits if Sigilyph ever gets trapped or anything, quickly turning a game around.
