With PUWC V inching closer to its conclusion and many of the participating teams already eliminated, what better time is there to share sets or teams from the tour that you're fond of! Explain why you used what you did, the thought processes, maybe some cool sets you had planned to use but never got the chance to, etc!

was gonna post more teams but honestly not overally confident in the quality so ill just post the two i used, not gonna do crazy write ups or anything

:arcanine::sneasel-hisui::bellibolt::tornadus::gastrodon::meloetta: https://pokepast.es/9cac203f8716fdd8
just wanted a decent offense mu into ocean so i started with tailwind torn and k9, belli and gastro seemed to cover most of the tier defensively. i originally was relic song melo but i needed more special pressure so i took this set from asa that looked cool. needed my weekly zu mon and sneasel provded a lot for the team defensively. opted for trailblaze + tera ghost to help further with offense, cover gastro on another mon and a late game out vs k9. honestly didnt know what pory did too much which caused me to miss a turn in the endgame that wouldve possibly won. think overall this team is decently solid currently and am gonna try to sample it.

:articuno-galar::qwilfish::golurk::Bombirdier::frosmoth::arcanine: https://pokepast.es/f736960493c2fa26
team went through way too many variations tbh which is why i uh missed the bu scrafty mu completely but otherwise its cool. wanted to use custap muds + spikes + pass originally vs ojr but pivoted to golurk and cuno since i needed more spa pressure and golurk offered more defensively over all version. after our game ocean mentioned scarf bomb was something he scrapped vs ojr and i thought it was cool and fit better than previous options i had in that slot. frosmoth just to fog in emergencies and to sponge some spa hits. originally and firebull > k9 but the team was painfully slow for my liking so threw on k9 since it obivously has espeed.

not gonna do like extensive shoutouts either or anything but wanted to repeat what i said in my discord publicly. first of all im insanely proud of what we accomplished this year despite the result. i was the only returning player from last year bc doug ran to hosting so we had to rebuild the roster from the ground up. the effort put in by our players was really impressive and despite the result i think there is a lot everybody should be proud of.

second, my activity and general effort was pretty poor and my record reflects that. dont have any real excuse for that. i originally wasnt gonna sign up at all but in conversations with dms with a couple friends big tony was brought up. tony has been really grinding to improve and puts in insane effort prep wise and building. it reminded me a lot of how hard i was trying a couple years ago tbh. i saw it after he didnt get drafted for pupl, on ladder, pu swiss, and in gulches team cord for pupl. he tries really hard and has been improving well. im not really friends with tony but i admire the effort and with how dominate the asia playerbase was with signups i offered to co with him because i was personally worried he wouldnt get picked. tony stepped up (literally) big time as a manager and was a large part in getting as far as we did as well as having a decent performance himself. i'd really rec tony to anybody as at least a 3k sub in future pu team tours, he can play well enough and is good support. he just needs a name change so he stops going undrafted cuz people think hes a complete rando.

again, proud of all the work people put in, the team was great and despite missing playoffs it was fun and a solid environment.

Now that the World Cup is finished for Team France, I wanted to share some of my favorite teams. These are the ones that worked best for me on ladder with multiple rank 1 with differents accounts or during the competition, and I hope they’ll give you ideas or simply they'll let you have off meta strong teams.

Hoopa & Whimsicott offense (my personal favorite) :

https://pokepast.es/0dc64eb82f243b0a
1732462901127.png

It's my favorite team currently it's very strong and fun to play with + It fits well with my agressive playstyle. I got the idea of fairy hoopa thanks to asa on ladder and I thought it has potential. I made this version of a kinda fairyspam with mons like scyther or skunk that will be able to lure opposing steels/fire types to put them in range of hoopa and whimsi. The team isn't very bulky but every mons has good immunities so you have to play kinda agressive and make the good predicts in order to win. I had very good results with it on ladd and I think it disserves to be tried

Tailwind ho + sneasel lorb :

https://pokepast.es/b16d8cbb0801ecb2
1732461953990.png

I didn't had the chance to play this team on the puwc, however I made top 1 with it recently. This is a very aggressive ho with a lot of rough power. The idea is to try to avoid the opponent to set up rocks by putting a lot of pressure then you setup the first sweepers (torn, sneasel or tauros) and when the torn is almost gone you click tailwind and go for the brav win (it's strong). The team has useful resist and it's easy to setup on common mons + sneasel life orb is crazy and this can OHKO arcanine after an sd

Alcreamie stack :

https://pokepast.es/20f85fa1687c6d58
1732462373500.png

This is also a very cool team based on alcreamie, a mon that I consider quite strong and annoying to face because it can legit sweep whole unpreppared teams. I also peaked the ladder using a bit this team. The idea here is to weaken steel types that are one of the only concerns of alcreamie with helmet gastro, koff birb or sandslash. Once you have done that gg you can now sweep with alcreamie (also make the opponent use his trick pokemons).

The lambovino trick room :
https://pokepast.es/2badbe3205b11185
1732460627676.png

This is a team that lambo built for my game against loor, I just made few changes like hattrem giga drain over rest for ground types and porygon2 over exxegutor for more staying power and in my opinion it was easier to set up trick room with him + this thing hits very hard with a special boost from download.

Heasel offense :
https://pokepast.es/dea8f6568bbf4ebe
1732461639598.png

The base of this team is the combo heasel trailblaze + k9 curse. Heasel is fast and it can beat or at least trade with the two biggest counters to k9 (gastro and bellibolt). Then the rest of the team is pretty classic with bomb as psy resist and golurk as ground that will be able to pressure steels and fire types to make easier a scarf florges clean on endgames. this type of teams are more and more meta i think it's strong atm

Subcm melo offense :
https://pokepast.es/8baabbfdb69900ea
1732464070031.png

First team i made for my PU return a week before wcup. I peaked rank 1 with it so I think it's strong however I haven't reused it since so no clue. Very standard stuff so nothing to say about it except that melo is quite strong.

Feel free to use them, adapt them, and I'll be happy to hear from people using them.

Obviously I'm sad about the way our wcup ended after the incredible pools matches we made, but China was overall better in those matches so gl for them in the rest. Sadly I decided to use stall on this decisive game instead of trusting my plays, but at least I learned. Finally I want to thanks Lambovino and yandaud for picking me and letting me play. The team was very fun to be in with every single member that was tryharding and helping the team. Special s/o to my guy VyoletRayn for being so active.

Thanks again team France.

Thank you everyone for this tour, it was really cool to be able to team up again with such wondeful people ! I'm very happy about team's France performance this year compared to last year, and i'm also happier about the teams I built in this tour, which is why i'll do a team dump too.
(click on the preview for the paste)

1732466918834.png
this team worked so well when I played it until my aboma under veil got double crit by a np uxie lol, I think snowslash is a really good sweeper and the team has a lot of tools in general i think

1732466936249.png
this TR worked really well in my tests, but eternal ocean did another variation with p2 over eggy which i can understand

1732466902414.png
I may have cooked too close to the oven but the team did it's job (with a good crit and a stun spore miss lol), the idea was to play sash viri to trade against things like k9 bull or sala without dying, and once the fire type is removed you can sweep with this bad venu set. Also rotom helps in bringing down dragon types for venu too. Btw brav is a really cool spdef uturn mon, and sableye should be played more

1732467545089.png
didn't really test this one, I just found the idea of solar beam minior amusing

1732467315853.png
it was supposed to be ngaz sitrus thief weezing to steal gastro's item and win the hazard war but then we face a golurk and it destroyed us so i switched back to levitate lol

1732467328472.png
I saw a lot of players use this team in pools, not sure why cause idt it's that good, but I wanted to try both sub bu grim and golurk so I did something with both

1732467732217.png
ebelt viri actually KOs k9 with +1 stone edge so I think it's a really cool mon, and zoro helps in bringing down things like belli

1732467855647.png
1732468306742.png

tried to do some double toxic teams, the 1st one is the better one I think, it has been improved a bit by Micciu's changes to fit his style.

1732467937022.png
1732467959363.png
wanted to build some teams around torn bc it's such a good mon, those 2 variations worked great

1732468389326.png
1732468400933.png
1732468560756.png
1732468650178.png
I don't think these 4 teams are really good but they were fun to made and can give ideas to people maybe

if anyone has any question about a team don't hesitate to ask on discord !

Really proud of the boys of Team France, for sure I am disappointed on how it ended as I think we really had what it takes to get to the top. But that's how the game is, we can't do anything about it.
as France is now out and my super sub role is now over, I've had a blast building and getting back into the tier, so I thought I'll share my builds as well, and some builds that didn't quite make the cut but that I still find interesting

:skuntank: :scyther: :coalossal: :bruxish: :palossand: :meloetta: - Insidious Jungle : a team based around two playstyles - one being around skuntank baiting in Gastrodon and weakening it, leading a path for Bruxish, and the other being items removal to let scyther and melo have more room to threaten the opposing teams. Dazzling Bruxish can be clutch in the late game
Side note : it's the team I played against Raj Shoot in pools

:frosmoth: :palossand: :decidueye: :skuntank: :Grimmsnarl: :tauros-paldea-blaze: - Icarus' Flames : this team revolves around toxic spikes and QD frosmoth, as it is a dangerous sweeper, ice scales giving it more than enough opportunities to setup and clean the game. Pairing it with a band Redbull for maximum breaking power and type coverage
Side note : I did the scyther suspect with that team only

1732470636770.png

:rhydon: :altaria: :decidueye: :gastrodon: :grimmsnarl: :meloetta: - Double Dance Rhydon : centered around Rhydon and enabling its setup, I've found that Rhydon can be a powerful breaker, with reliable typing and good defensive stats with eviolite, it's rather easy to set it up regarding the matchups

Teams that didn't quite make the cut :

:altaria: :wo-chien: :pawmot: :palossand: :meloetta: :skuntank: - Pawmot + Melo offense : To my eyes, Pawmot is quite the interesting pick, but I could barely work around it, I think that's the most I could bring out of it with this life orb + Natural rest set

:tornadus: :shiftry: :gastrodon: :palossand: :pawmot: :florges: - Tornadus Specs Offense : this one didn't make it because it was a bit too difficult to pilot efficiently, but I still think it really has some potential, shiftry can work as a defogger that wins against mudsdale, golurk and palossand

:tornadus: :toxtricity: :scrafty: :coalossal: :dachsbun: :gastrodon: - Scrafty/Torna BO : one of my favorites, as I love building around scrafty but hardly found good niches for it, I came to realize afterwards that dachsbun was most of the times dead weight.

Lastly, I want to thank Lambovino and yandaud for picking me in the team, and I thank all my teammates for trusting my teams and my process.
Hoping to see you around some day.

Been a while since UK is out but I had a lot of fun building alongside Aurist, wanted to post a few teams we were happy with here.
Screenshot 2024-11-25 at 11.34.20.png
HSOWA win
HSOWA wanted to cheese, and I'd been trying to get someone to use Scovillain for ages. With Scarf users not being very fast generally, Scov can afford to get greedy and run a Modest nature. It can also skip Specs as it doesn't need it to 2HKO everything in the tier with Charcoal. Solarbeam covers Gastro and I think switching moves is too crucial, even dropping from Fire Blast to Flamethrower for a confirmed KO. We saw Sun regularly getting counterswept as a risk (actually this idea started when working on Grassy terrain), so Aurist added Ditto and also convinced me on Alola Dugtrio. Sun feels strong and I don't think it needs Revival Blessing / Healing Wish shenanigans to get wins, especially if you avoid choice items.

Screenshot 2024-11-25 at 11.34.42.png
MachJacob loss
BU Grim is a big threat and Sub lets it set up on Gastro / Belli / Frosmoth cores which were running around everywhere. Once it's got a Sub up and with Tera Steel it can cause huge problems and shares a lot of checks with Curse K9. I wanted an offensive rocker and Defog user here as Grim can end up losing momentum if it gets Hazed / Phazed. Looking back this could probably didn't need Scarf Melo with double priority, so maybe Specs or a different mon in that slot fits better. Defog Hecid is also a bit meh. This game could have been a win but the TSpikes matchup was bad and we didn't quite go hard enough on committing to BU Grimm.

Screenshot 2024-11-25 at 11.34.30.png
Django loss
With all the Gastro / Belli / Frosmoth cores being used I wanted to bluff with QD moth as no one was really playing around it and it's super dangerous. Sub in particular gets so many free turns vs opposing defensive cores (Defog / Giga Drain are also options in this last slot). SpDef Gastro is needed here to without SpDef investment on Moth. Scrafty and Rotom give great immunities and breaking power as well, while Bruxish is speed control and a wincon. Dazzling checkmating priority users is fun and I didn't miss the power from Strong Jaw on this team. This is definitely a bit weak to Normal moves (Tox, Melo) hence the Tera Steel and Ghost. In the game this was used Bellibolt missed 3 muddy waters vs Rhydon so be sure to train that guy better first.
Screenshot 2024-11-25 at 11.34.53.png
Baddy win
Screenshot 2024-11-25 at 11.35.03.png
I'll talk about these two together since they work from the same core. Flash Fire Arcanine creates some really funny interactions with Zoroark - if you disguise Zoro as Scyther, then lead with FF Arcanine, most people will think that's Zoro. Then on T1 switch Arcanine out, doubling to whatever works vs their Zoro switch. Later in the game, you can send out the real Zoro (disguised as Scyther) and smack their Bellibolt or other Scyther check with Specs Dark Pulse. Obviously it doesn't always play out like this, but the mons are good enough anyway that it still makes a solid team. The balance version of this is a bit of a lazy build with the standard core, and lacks speed control. I prefer the offense version, Colbur Golurk being something that just trades really well and also beats the Spinners / Defoggers to get rocks up on offense. Scarf Hecid is broken and creates more funny interactions with Zoro, while the Tox set is weird but Toxic gives another route to break Gastro / Belli, while Encore can check some slower set up / rocks.

Screenshot 2024-11-25 at 11.35.31.png
Cow loss
Cow liked the look of Glastrier and Scyther together, and it seemed like a neat core to fit alongside Hattrem with Eviolite Scyther. s/o Aurist for this one. Again sub Glast lets it set up on many of the current defensive cores, but in this game it runs into Rotom-H where it would have much rather have had some coverage. Hattrem also lets you get greedy and run leftovers instead of boots which is great with Sub. Rest of the team is pretty standard offense stuff, fitting in Speed control, immunities for Melo and Tox, and checks for Scyther. We actually skipped rocks on this team, relying on Hattrem instead, but you could fit them on Bombird or Rhydon if you want.

The rest of these teams went unused so it's a bit more a mixed bag, but still worth talking about.
Unused:
Screenshot 2024-11-25 at 11.35.24.pngScreenshot 2024-11-25 at 11.35.16.png
Both of these were built around Spikes + Scarf Florges, which is a potent combo. Bulky Rotom is my attempt to cope with Scyther which I actually think is decent:
+2 252 Atk Technician Scyther Dual Wingbeat (120 BP) (2 hits) vs. 248 HP / 168+ Def Rotom: 162-192 (53.4 - 63.3%) -- approx. 2HKO
Speed EVs let it outrun Adamant Decid / Modest Hoopa, and non Scarf Decid-H. CM Guno also loves spikes, and Coal sets spikes + Spins. This team can't really punish Defog Moth enough, maybe Slash is better than Coal here.
For the offensive version, Qwilfish is a really cool Spikes user with T-Wave and also checking Redbull. The Rotom / Scrafty / Scyther offensive core is pretty standard, and Rhydon is just all round good.

Screenshot 2024-11-25 at 11.33.23.png
This was me trying to build around Goodra as Steel types are really lacking and nothing wants to switch into Draco + Toxic. This ended up really fat and slow, but I think the Wish Florg + Goodra core is very solid, probably some edits here could make a good team.

Screenshot 2024-11-25 at 11.34.13.pngScreenshot 2024-11-25 at 11.34.00.png
These two teams I was attempting to mix up Altarias usual sets as it felt like people would complacently assume it's defog. Perish Trap Altaria can easily snipe both Belli and Gastro, and Tera Ground is to stop Belli volting out. With those two removed, Scyther and Redbull become menaces. DD Altaria is trying to do the bulky DD Roost thing Mence does in RU. It's ok, at +1 can outspeed Lazzle and +2 most scarfs, but struggle with power with Dragon Claw and Brave Bird it ends up hating the chip. Still a nice surprise option. The rest of these teams is pretty normal balance / offense.

Screenshot 2024-11-25 at 11.33.52.png
I honestly don't remember much about this other than BU Grimm and CM Guno share a lot of checks. Kasib Berry Palosand I think is to snipe like Hoopa or something but honestly who knows. Lot of threats on this team though I think it's good.

Screenshot 2024-11-25 at 11.33.36.pngScreenshot 2024-11-25 at 11.33.44.png
Attempts at building terrain offense for Cow. These are mostly memes but could probably cheese a win. Drifblim / Sceptile / Raichu are shockingly strong in the right matchups. Psychic Seed Magician Delphox is also funny but idk how good in reality.

8SV overall was actually really fun despite my initial scepticism, and ty @UK team for being a cool bunch to team with. Our record wasn't great but the majority of the games were super close and could very easily have gone another way. We went from 2nd Last to 3rd Last so it really is getting better. See you next year for 4th Last :toast:

↑ one for all

some points we've discussed during the long run:
- offensive ground mons (rhydon, mudsdale) seems better than gastro in this meta: they could easily overspeed gastro and eq deals pretty much. And there indeed lacks solid checks to them
- frosmoth > defensive ut defog decidueye. that's because with stun spore you could threaten something like arcanine to prevent brainlessly switch-in
- defensive a-sandslash sucks (but metallica loves it), a steel type mon but couldn't revenge florges and scared of focus blast from torn. Another important thing is it couldn't spin hazards from common ground-type rocks setters
- guno and arcanine could be abused

Here is my PUWC team dump! Very fun tour with great people. I built for myself every week I played because honestly I really enjoy current gen PU especially the post-shifts and scyther-ban meta. Anyways, let's jump into it.

:bellibolt: :electrode-hisui: :florges: :bombirdier: :gastrodon: :delphox:
Double Volt Special Offense (Win)
https://pokepast.es/2dd7d0c66638a3d7

I used this team in Quarterfinals and won, and have found success with it in holdovers as well. This started with the idea of running double volt switch with a strong breaker, and spikestack got added as a natural fit because I was already running bellibolt, so gastrobelli felt natural and bombird could set rocks and answer Decidueye, his hisuian brother, and golurk. In general, I think GastroBelli+defensive Bombirdier is a powerful spikestack core that I tend to use in many structures. Delphox is my fairy type switchin and with encore and entry hazards becomes a threat, especially when getting free switches from double volt switch. The biggest flaw of the team in my opinion is lack of hazard removal, but in my opinion removal is dire in this tier and the way the team plays, taunt helectrode usually denies early hazards and you dictate momentum early, letting you either win the hazard war or win the game before hazards matter enough. Anyways, this team is 2-0 in tournament setting and very fun to use.

:tornadus: :porygon2: :florges: :cryogonal: :uxie: :gastrodon:
Bulk up Tornadus Semistall (Win)
https://pokepast.es/ecf0c514ab684832

This week I decided to take a completely different turn and try to build semistall. This was a big choice for me because I usually only build bulky offense teams because that is my comfort playstyle, but I wanted to branch out and expand my building abilities. This team took forever to feel great about, because I kept running into different challenges in testing. Eventually I landed on this, and it is actually 2-0 in tournament play as well and the team i'm most proud of this tournament. The Tornadus set was grass knot in world cup, and i used hammer arm in holdovers. Both versions I think are equally valid and had great use-cases in the tour games they were showcased in. I wanted to start with cryogonal/porygon2+tornadus, because I noticed pory2 and cryogonal cover a majority of special attackers in the tier which allowed me to add a wincon/breaker element to my stall and make it a semistall. I chose Tornadus because it has defiant and I wanted to try itemless bulk up to take advantage of golurk and decidueye. The rest of the team was formed through trial and error of what defensive pokemon cover the rest of the meta and give me entry hazards. Specifically I would love to call out the Florges set, it is a creation of my own (so is the tornadus). It was created out of wanting to have a consistent counter to bulk up grimmsnarl and not being able to fnd one that fit easily into my team. This set reliably beats that set and sets up on it, And also bypasses standard counters to CM Florges such as copperjah and alolaslash. The only weakness of this set is it hardloses to arcanine, but that's honestly okay! Chestorest uxie gave me more longevity and another way to answer decid+golurk when they are polt. If you can't tell, I always overprep for those mons in the builder bc they scare me. Anyways, this is a fun fresh semistall that I also went 24-1 with on the ladder before tilting out of my mind and failing my suspect reqs run! I do recommend you try it.

:electrode-hisui: :sneasel-hisui: :bombirdier: :copperajah: :arcanine: :tatsugiri:
Fighting Resist Sneasel (Loss)
https://pokepast.es/ab929f0f14b13a7b

So I went into this week with a rough draft of a team, and went into my game with the same team. How did this happen? To make a long story short, I had a personal situation escalate and to make a long story short I had no ability to prep this week (tiebreaker week) due to this unfortunate unforseen situation. This was just a really unfortunate situation, because I wanted to play tiebreaker and was ready to prep hard for it, but when life happened I was also to stubborn to sub myself out so I ended up bringing this, which I appropriately named "fighting resist sneasel" because it was my only fighting resist. Danny called this out in my channel in prep actually so it stung to lose to bulk up tauros fire knowing I was weak to it going into the game. The idea was that Helectrode+Arcanine and Sneasel is a very potent offensive core that I could control the game with, but it was really awkward to build around sneasel-hisui so my rough draft ended in having defensive holes without enough speed/offense to make up for it. I personally don't like this team, would not recommend it, and it gave me a really bad matchup in my tiebreaker game too. My own fault, lesson learned. Thankfully Asa and Stories are goats and won the tiebreaker.

:ditto: :naclstack: :gastrodon: :altaria: :florges: :grafaiai:
Graf Semistall (Loss)
https://pokepast.es/857b0a6c8bb2f45c

This week I had time to prep again and was basically out of the situation, so I wanted to try to build semistall again. This was actually inspired from one of Excal's stalls in SCL. It basically is just a really solid five stallcore with a band grafaiai with poison touch to proc poisons, knock off hdb, be my florges and decidueye check/answer, but in practice this worked out poorly and a simple adjustment would've made a world of difference in the Finals game. Basically, I ran Band Graf for really no intelligent reason, and failed to catch the mistake until it was in Finals. I thought band graf was a good idea and rounded the semistall idea out well, but band specifically was terrible because it not only locked me into a move that was easy to exploit after clicking a move on a team that's already passive, but it also meant I wasn't using HDB and was taking entry hazard damage every time I switch in. And if I defog with altaria too much, I'm not making enough progress with my own hazards to close out the game and lose. Therefore, it is HDB now. I still think this semistall is weaker than my other one, because as seen in the Finals game specs Florges breaks through this team pretty easily. I think with some adjustments this team could be excellent, but graf is probably not the appropriate direction.

-------------------------------------
I had some great wins and some tough defeats in this teamtour, but I felt like I grew a lot as a player and builder, and I'm really excited to see what I can do in PUBD. Hopefully someone can benefit from these teams or get inspiration to cook up something cool themselves, and if you got to the end of this post, you're the goat for reading all of that.

This year's PUWC meant a lot to me; it was my first time actively playing in the tour since I went 0-3 in 2020, and I was eager to make up for that performance in 2024. My 6-1 run was kinda fraudulent, but it still indicates personal growth, which is something I've really been aiming for in Pokemon lately. Anyway, here are the teams I used (and some of the others I built) this season.

Screenshot 2024-12-21 at 11.25.37 PM.png
I made this team just before Calm Mind Articuno-G became a true meta threat, and you can tell because of the set. Agility + CM is strictly worse than CM + Recover, but it's still a fun enough set that has huge game-stealing potential. Tera Blast Fire made the most sense as far as coverage goes, though you could probably get away with other options like Electric. Other than that, this is a fairly normal HO.

Screenshot 2024-12-21 at 11.38.18 PM.png
Pretty normal team with a lot of anti-HO tools because I figured Piyu would load that. Coil Dudunsparce is something people should use more, it's really annoying.

Screenshot 2024-12-21 at 11.38.44 PM.png
Also pretty normal overall. I've always liked Pawmot and thought it does well against typical bulky builds. Encore lets you waste Recover PP against Gastrodon and Bellibolt and thus force switches, which supports Galarcuno and Choice Scarf Florges well. The Copperajah set is specifically made to 1v1 Swords Dance Decidueye, which can legitimately 6-0 the team at any given moment.

Screenshot 2024-12-21 at 11.51.16 PM.png
Sneasel is rare, but it never does nothing when you run into it. Right now it has a clutch Speed tier, just above Tornadus and Choice Scarf Decidueye-H, and checking our numerous, crazy good Psychic- and Ghost-types is also very valuable. I had a feeling Caesarr would bring the team he did after running into him on ladder, so I brought something with a fairly good matchup against it. Tera Blast Fairy Hoopa was to help against Scrafty, but it also just seemed superior to risking Focus Blast + cleanly OHKOes Tatsugiri, a huge nuisance here.

Delphox + SD Rhydon with good pivots and Wish support backing them seemed good against a lot of stuff fish/Team Europe had been using. There was a Scrafty over Brute Bonnet originally, but the team seriously needed a Ground resist by the end. Taunt was there to shut down Bellibolt and other random stuff like Dipplin, tom had suggested it. The game was very unserious, Delphox should have definitely gotten more done but I was trying to avoid possible Sucker Punch from Bombirdier + keep it healthy enough to 1v1 a weakened Arcanine. Not sure how I feel about this team now that it's all said and done, but it did help keep our season alive.

I expected Drud to bring HO and was gonna try and take the Piyu route again, but I eventually gave up and decided to just load my own hyper offense team. Throat Spray Meloetta is something I stole from NU, it's really fun and good at trading and punching through teams early on. Sceptile is something I was hesitant about bringing, but it has a fair bit going for it. Unburden means Ditto can't reverse sweep you, Red Card can save you from getting swept/revenge killed, and its coverage is good at breaking BelliGastroMoth-type teams. Bulk Up Tornadus is unexpected and surprisingly effective, a big winner of Coalossal and Aloslash dipping in usage. Sceptile and Tornadus form a decent physical spam core, with Rhydon helping them out against Rotom-H. I really like this team overall despite its bad Rotom-H and Orthworm matchups, and it pushed us to finals even though the game could've been played tighter by me.

Sneasel-H has the same good traits going for it as its Johtoian counterpart, except it can hold Eviolite and doesn't always need to make contact to do damage. It absorbs Toxic/Toxic Spikes too, but that's less important. It + Choice Specs Meloetta seemed like a fun offensive core, and I wanted to back them with a sturdy enough core that wasn't too do-nothing. Unfortunately, it ran into Tera Poison Galarcuno, which pretty much just beats this team if Meloetta/Rhydon are low. The bad luck in-game was unfortunate too, but I think it was deserved after how my games against Piyu and fish went. I still like this team overall; if the Galarcuno were Tera Steel instead, then I'd have much more wiggle room, but that was good prep on Team China's part.

:avalugg-hisui::salazzle::zoroark::uxie::scyther::rhydon:
I primarily used this team to get reqs during the Scyther suspect test. Drud (and someone else using an edited version) won with it in WC, but I never personally loaded it. Loaded Dice Havalugg is a Ho3n set, and I'm convinced it's better than Custap Berry like 80% of the time. Beating opposing leads on top of dealing reliable damage to Belli/Gastro/etc is huge.

:dudunsparce::articuno-galar::palossand::salazzle::decidueye-hisui::bellibolt:
Very similar to a team Django already posted, just wanted a bunch of status spam with good guys to take advantage of it. Tera Grass Salazzle feels about as good as Tera Ground to me rn, if not better; not sure why people don't use it more often.

:decidueye-hisui::florges::uxie::palossand::bombirdier::coalossal:
:toxtricity::florges::uxie::gastrodon::bombirdier::coalossal:
Offensive CM Florges is something I've considered here and there since Seraphz used it in PUPL, and it is (in my experience) unfortunately pretty disappointing. For every game it does something, it sucks in four more. Tera Ground is probably better, but Tera Fire beats the stupid moth that I hate. Either way, the idea on both teams was to wear Frosmoth and Steels down with Florges before sweeping with Uxie, with Decidueye-H and Toxtricity + hazards there to help with that.

:scrafty::electrode-hisui::frosmoth::gastrodon::meloetta::houndstone:
Maybe this team is bad actually, but it has stuff I like. DD + Encore Scrafty is always a menace, and offensive Houndstone is a sleeper threat that kind of owns when you don't run into Wo-Chien. When I gave the team to Danny it was Jolly with enough Speed for Toxtricity, I think?

:salazzle::bellibolt::decidueye-hisui::orthworm::grimmsnarl::golurk:
More status spamming hazard stack, now with Grimmsnarl. This team is probably also bad, crazy how Decid-H and Golurk make all your teams worse.

:grimmsnarl::bellibolt::tauros-paldea-blaze::hoopa::frosmoth::gastrodon:
Choice Band Redbull is underrated atm, solid breaker that gets more chances to switch in than you'd think. Grimmsnarl takes advantage of this pretty well, and Hoopa offers backup breaking and cleaning here. Strap was going to load this in finals, but we got tossed before he had a chance.

Thank you to Stories, gulch, and the rest of Team US South for making it a fun season, and congratulations to Team China on your well-earned victory. Until next year :)

Semifinal TB Metallica126 vs LpZ (W)
This is my best team during the PUWC.
Pick critdra because it is pretty good into LpZ's scout and i want use one uncommon breaker, uxie is another great mon because it can sub into gastro/belli to make it use np and kill opp's many mons, arcanine is so good that can abused many time and it is a benefiter when kingdra break gastro, offense mudsdale is good rocker with more offense pressure to hit belli and overwhelm gastro.

Final Metallica126 vs Danny (W)
This team is building around scrafty, i found our team never used it and it might good into danny so building it, at first is Scrafty/Band Decidueye/Sandslash-A/Scarf Florges/NP Torn/Gastro, but in test i found Decidueye is bad in this team and scarf florges not very comfortable for me so edit sometime, use thunder punch scrafty because i need it kill crmo faster to help bruxish can click wave crash better.

Semifinal Metallica126 vs Beraldo (L) and xu9 vs kyuss (W)
This team is building around Torn/Floatzel/Belli and fit 2 soild and 1 sandslash, floatzel and belli's turn can make specs torn break, especially deal some offense player like Beraldo, in my game i afraid his Qwilfish put tera ghost and it can't kill me so click morning sun but he have self-destruct :(.
xu9 like this so bring it in another game, that game showed dd altaria is really sucks.

Quarterfinal Indulge in dreams vs yandaud (W)
Idk why venusaur not used often but 3a set is hard to switch, pack/boots are better but i want try LO, BU Redbull is strong, use pad to make it don't chip by helmet and don't worry about belli.

Pools
It is my first good building in PU, SD Sneasel-hisui with trilblaze can 6-0 many things but my game went unluck, band dog not too good but it can help sneasel overwhelm mudsdale.

Thanks everyone, asa gulch THE_CHUNGLER DugZa tested with me often, especially thanks sufys sent me team from pu swiss that make me can played this tier and have more knowledge, i also finding many good teammates, can adapt a new tier and does well, i will say more in Chinese community forum because my English is not good.

From 2-3 to 4-3 is very enjoyable from semifinals, at that time i get mad because i lose almost every teamtour, but if don't giveup, the wonder will coming.

Next time i will does better, cya then.
