Type Cores are cores that originate from 3 types that work well together. They can be great offensively, or have really good defensive synergy. The goal of this project will be to have the community come up with cores for the types for that week, and hopefully discover new cores in the process. It'll be more focused on type affiliations and type synergy, and not so much on partners and threats.

I'd prefer if you don't just copy cores from the Good Cores thread and use those as your own, but if you have different mons and sets, then I'm fine with that.

Innovation is great, as long as it's viable and effective. If someone's core has a problem, please help them nicely, and don't start petty arguments. The rules are below. Reserving cores is allowed. 1 core per person please as this will make it easier to vote / pick a winner.

1. Each week I'll nominate a type core, and during the following week the community will submit cores to this thread. Each core will require an explanation of its efficiency, and be sure to explain any unusual EV spreads or moves used. Each core requires 3 mons.

2. After the week has passed, we will all vote for the best core for that week. Everyone gets 2 votes.

3. The winner and their core will be placed in the Hall of Fame.

4. Good Luck and Have Fun ;)

So probably the strangest name in this core is the Bib. Bibarel gets a really poor rep, because for a long time, it was really outclassed by Barbaracle and Carracosta. However, with both of them kindly sitting in BL4, Bibarel sit a phenomenal bulky sweeper. Curse Set-up really helps, and as Speed is essentially uninvested anyways, it doesn't hurt. I tend to pick T-Wave or Thief before Rest, as most threats switching in on Bib can 2HKO him anyways, so switching is a better option than resting. T-Wave destroys later sweeper threats after Bib takes a hit from them, and nearly negates its own speed drop. Thief is interesting, as it often picks up an Eviolite (acting like a worse Knock Off) or a Life Orb/Choice Band (Gold). However, if you find your team Electric or Arbok Weak, Bulldoze is a solid option that is a speed control, though it doesn't quite hit as much.

Roselia @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpD

Roselia cements herself as the defensive queen of PU. Synthesis and Eviolite means that hits can be taken and hazards can be stacked, use Sludge Bomb to hit Flying Types Neutrally, but otherwise, stick to Giga Drain for some neutral healing while taking a chunk out of the opponent. The EVs are enough to always avoid a 2HKO from Zebstrika Overheat, and the rest placed into Roselia's incredibly frail defenses. You can try and squeeze Toxic onto the set, but it really takes away from the offensive nature of the Core. However, if you must, take it over Sludge Bomb, as Heatmor deals with Fire, Fairy and Ice Types that it covers neutrally.

Heatmor @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 56 Atk / 252 SpA / 200 Spe
Rash Nature

As a mixed attacker, Heatmor challenges a lot more threats than its Special Attacking counterpart. In particular, Superpower takes down Lickilicki, Ninetales and Munchlax. 200 Speed investment is solely to outspeed Modest Aurorus and OHKO it first, as it otherwise takes down this core very effectively. Though Sucker Punch is great utility, its predictability is its downfall, use it sparingly. Try and Switch in Heatmor on a predicted fire type, as its frailty can mean it falls to attacks you wouldn't even think of.

This team is a Bulky Offensive Core that covers a majority of the metagame with good bulky, priority and a mixture of offensive types.

Two of the three mons have access to priority in Quick Attack and Sucker Punch, allowing base 60s and 70s to challenge what is otherwise an unbeatable Revenge Killer. Entry Hazards keep offensive pressure on the opponent, and punishes switches made to avoid strong physical and special attacks. Roselia's Natural Cure helps keep Heatmor and Bib from Status wounds, while the offensive pressure of the other two keep Roselia from needing to sponge too many attacks.

In all seriousness though, just try it. Sure, it doesn't quite have as many big names as a top-tier core, but it works shockingly well, partially in part to having names that are generally ignored.

Try and add a revenge sweeper, like Frogadier, Fraxure or Banded Stoutland, and a spinner if possible. Avalugg surprisingly fits well, as the Fire attacks it fears are sponged by Heatmor, and the Steel attacks are brushed off by Roselia. Watch for Floatzel, who can take on a lot of this core, and watch for Rest Talkers who can take a hit or two to make sure you aren't outstalled.

A core prepared to work under sun and without it. It can even work against Rain because Floatzel will become then blazing fast...

Of course usually F-W-G cores has nice offensive and defensive synergy but also Eggy and Ferno have nice synergy thanks to their secondary typing, with Monferno 4x resisting any Bug Move and 2x resisting dark moves, while Exeggutor can switch on Psychic attacks directed to Monferno.

* In sun: Exeggutor will speed tie Scarf Mime and outspeed everything slower like Modest Scarf Chatot. Monferno will have a similar speed thanks to Scarf and will probably spam Flare Blitz, while Floatzel can still deal with Fire Types like Rapidash (still OHKOes after Rocks) and Evio Ferno (75% chance of OHKOing it after SR).

* In Rain: Floatzel will outspeed practically everything in the meta, and will deal HUGE damage to everything with Hydro Pump (it can still win 1Vs1 against Toed), it can even deal with non bulky resists like offensive Eggy (252 SpA Choice Specs Floatzel Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Exeggutor in Rain: 216-254 (65.2 - 76.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO) and Sawsbuck (252 SpA Choice Specs Floatzel Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Sawsbuck in Rain: 202-238 (67.1 - 79%) -- guaranteed 2HKO).

Another important thing is that Floatzel can also Switcheroo a Choice Specs on something to cripple it (like Evio Mons, Gourgeist XL, I dunno), and that Ferno can deal with Defensive Pelipper thanks to Thunder Punch 2HKOing it and not being OHKOed by uninvested Scald

This offensive core works around evio SD Monferno and RP Relicanth, two amazing set-up sweepers in the current metagame.

Relicanth is really defensively bulky (100hp/130def) and this allows it to set up on a lot of phys offensive mons. Its water-rock STAB boosts waterfall power (20% chance of flinch is cash for hax gods) and boosts head smash, which becames a destroying 225 bp move (80% acc tho). Finally earthquake for coverage, lets Reli hit Steel types super-effectively.
With Jolly nature this thing hits 458 Speed, outspeeding a lot of scarf users, such as:
scarf Rotom-F, scarf Mr.Mime, scarf modest Chatot (speed ties scarf timid Chatot)...
Relicanth acts as an excellent late-game sweeper, able to clean when opposing team is weakened.

Jumpluff, thanks to Encore and U-turn, gains momentum in order to make one of the other two to set up. You can run Memento over Encore in order to allow the entering Ferno or Reli to set up.
I like to run either seed bomb and acrobatics for coverege, because its speed allows it to be able to finish the match if needed. However sleep powder over seed bomb is viable as well.
Moreover Its ability, clorophyll, allows it to check a lot of sun-sweepers, such as Exeggutor and Sawsbuck.

Monferno, really good mon right now, thanks to eviolite is able to set up easily and to deal massive damage to the opposing team. Ferno can act as a good set-up sweeper or as a nice revenge killer (thanks to iron fist + STAB mach punch). It is a second win-con to pair with Reli because of their good offensive synergy.

This is an offensive core centered around using Jumpluff to gain Momentum via Sleep Powder, U-Turn, or Memento/Encore. Life Orb + SD Ferno is used to take advantage of common switch-ins to Jumpluff such as Boufflant, Tangela, and Zebstrika. If the situation calls for it Pluff can always use Memento to open up an opportunity for either Monferno or Gorebyss to sweep or punch holes in the other team to allow other teammates to sweep.

On this core specifically, I prefer Life Orb > White Herb on Gorebyss since it is the usual switch-in after a Memento from Jumpluff, so it can still set up despite the drops Shell Smash brings. Also Life Orb allows you to nuke even if you don't happen to get a boost which is always nice. (If you don't like drops you can still use White Herb which may even let you get two boosts with Memento support.)

Monferno is amazing in this current meta and is a nice third in this FWG core. It brings strong priority to help pick off faster mons that Jumpluff or Gorebyss otherwise can't touch, especially scarfers such as Sawsbuck, Rotom-F, Chatot, and even Floatzel which all outspeed Gorebyss even after it has Shell Smashed.

a lot of variations here. options are megahorn > wisp / morning sun on rapidash for grumpig, which can be a threat, taunt on floatzel over surf to stop memento jumpluff / belly drum linoone, any item or final two moves on exeggutor, from specs to life orb to custap to colbur, and from hp fighting to leaf storm to sleep powder to ancient power.

this is a very good offensive core that i use on a lot of my teams. basically all of these pokemon are pretty difficult to switch into, so you can gain a massive advantage from a simple double switch. rapidash's checks, such as relicanth and stunfisk, are victimised by exeggutor which uses these pokemon to fire off a free powerful attack. sub comes in handy here so you can't just be pivoted around by pokemon with resists to your moves, you could also run specs for the same effect. basically just customise your exeggutor set for the rest of the team. floatzel's checks, such as spdef clefairy and politoed, are bait for rapidash and exeggutor, respectively. this core also offers a good set of resists as well as two fast mons to pick off threats. good partners are metang, secondary pawniard checks, and an electric check.

exeggutor removes water-types so rapidash can sweep.
rapidash removes grass-types so floatzel can sweep.
floatzel removes fire-types so exeggutor can sweep.
 
PU isn't really known for tri-cores as much as other tiers are, but I figure I can post a FWG core anyway:

This core can be ran with some variation, but the idea is more or less the same; Floatzel often brings in Politoed or Roselia, as they are the most reliable defensive answers to take on Floatzel's various sets. This sort of predictable switch allows you to bring Roselia in on Politoed via a double switch, which can either set Spikes as Politoed is forced out, incapacitate a switch-in with Sleep Powder, or simply attack with Giga Drain. In return, Floatzel is able to check and beat Jumpluff with Ice Punch, which would otherwise be a huge threat to this core.

In the same way that you can double from Floatzel to Roselia on Politoed switch-ins, you can also double from Floatzel into Simisear or Roselia if you predict a bulky Grass-type switching into Floatzel (like Tangela for example).

Roselia has some trouble with bulky Psychic types (Grumpig is a prime example), but Grumpig is lured by physical Simisear's LO Knock Off here. Similarly, Simisear lures in Fire-types like Ninetales and Rapidash thinking they'll be using their Flash Fire to switch in for free, but instead are OHKOed by Simisear's LO boosted Rock Slide. Luring Grumpig and other Fire-types keeps Roselia safe for the rest of the match, which allows Roselia to take on Water-, Rock-, and Ground-types for Simisear in return. Finally, Simisear and Floatzel are able to beat Monferno and Regice reliably, which regularly check or even switch into Roselia (in Regice's case).

Timid Choice Scarf Mr. Mime hits 459 Speed total, so it's still faster than Jolly RP Relicanth

that is the only one which is a proper core, rather than just 'fire type beats grass for water' (ik there are other core-y things like lures, but not much). Not blaming posters here as this project is pretty limited by the metagame being offensive meaning cores often aren't based around 3 specific types, rather lures or possibly support (like pursuit).
