[SET]
name: Mixed Wallbreaker
move 1: Return
move 2: Thunderbolt
move 3: Tri Attack
move 4: Dark Pulse / Ice Beam
item: Life Orb
nature: Rash / Mild
ability: Download
evs: 160 Atk, 252 Sp.Atk, 96 Speed

Why this set deserves to be on-site:
  • Porygon-Z has a special niche with its Download ability revealing the opponent's lowest Defense and gaining a attacking boost.
  • Scores a 2HKO on almost every tank and wall in OU.
  • Can defeat both Skarmory and Blissey.

Additional Comments:
  • Return gives you an 2HKO against the most common wall in the metagame: Blissey.
  • Thunderbolt gives you an OHKO against Skarmory, Vaporeon and Suicune. If you get an Attack boost against Vaporeon or Suicune, it is still an OHKO if you have rocks up. Thunderbolt also scores a 2HKO against Forretress.
  • Tri Attack is a very powerful STAB and 2HKO's a lot of stuff.
  • Dark Pulse is for Dusknoir and Rotom-A and Ice Beam completes the BoltBeam and can OHKO Gliscor and Hippowdon. Dark Pulse is the preferred option as you can 2HKO Gliscor and Hippowdon with Tri Attack.

Counters and Teammates:
  • CurseLax can be very annoying for this set if it can manage to get a Curse up. Otherwise Return is a 2HKO.
  • Phazers can be helpful as they can phaze away CurseLax, CroCune and the like.

Hmm. I don't see this set working too well. Blissey's first thing after it comes in is Thunder Wave, and unless you used Return on the switch, Blissey will get a T-wave off on you, rendering you useless for pretty much the entre match.

For that reason, maybe slash Substitute in the last slot? You do get walled by Rotom-a though, but it eases prediction. Gliscor and Hippowdon get hurt bad enough by Tri Attack, and I don't think Ice Beam is that big of a necessity.

I think you should mention Heatran as a counter, because there's nothing much Porygon-z can do to hurt it. Maybe recommend a Scarf or Substitute Heatran of your own to switch in to a Fire Blast and counter it?

I think you should mention Heatran as a counter, because there's nothing much Porygon-z can do to hurt it.

Unless the new definition of counter is ''switch in only to get 2HKO the following the turn'' then Heatran should not be listed as a counter tbh.

Porygon-Z Rash LO +0 252/0 Thunderbolt vs 0/4 Heatran 49.5% - 58.5% almost always a 2hko even without rocks, always 2hko with rocks.

Heck, even Tri Attack 2hkos after rocks and a download boost.

Heatran just isn't a counter in any sense of the word.

Maybe recommend a Scarf or Substitute Heatran of your own to switch in to a Fire Blast and counter it?
Heatran doesn't counter Heatran unless the opposing Heatran does not carry Earth Power. Your Heatran is always in danger of getting Ohko so is not a surefire counter.

Anyway, this set is horrible. The biggest selling point would be 2hkoing Blissey... but... it doesn't 2hko standard Blissey. 252/252 Bold that is.

36.3% - 42.9%!

this means Blissey can switch in on rocks, take a Return, get Leftovers and STILL have 50%+ HP MINIMUMMMMM.

Obviously this isn't taking an attack boost into account but that is by no means a reliable way of killing Blissey.

Return helps against nothing, it is just BS BS BS BS BS.

You are better off just maxing speed/Sp.A, going Choice Specs and smashing stuff. That is wallbreaking PZ style. You are just wasting PZs decent defences, begging to be outsped by a shitton of stuff and lowering its most appealing stat in order to still fail against anything you would have previously. Return is better off just being replaced by Agility and wrecking offensive teams. Why not just do an agility set.....oh....its already been done...like most other viable PZ sets. Do a Scarf one? :):):)

Scores a 2HKO on almost every tank and wall in OU.
You just described every single on-site set of Porygon-Z.

I vaguely remember a similar set on site some time ago with Return and Adaptability on it to take out Blissey. It was taken off site though. Might wanna think about that.

You may want to mention Sharpen and Adaptability in conjunction with Return.
At +2, you deal 96.6% - 113.7% to max HP/Defense Bold Blissey, which was the highlight of that set.

Then again, that set was probably removed from the site for a good reason, like sharkz said. Tread carefully.

Sharpen got removed from the site, and for good reason. Basically, it's inferior to Nasty Plot in nearly every way, and it's basically a gimmick that MAYBE works the first time, but never after. I've actually tried the mixed Sharpen set that used to be on-site, and it just doesn't really do it for me, unfortunately.

QC REJECTED (1/3)

I have to agree with SDS on this, I don't see much use in a Mixed set, both the set you have listed in the OP or a Mixed Sharpen set. It seems to be outclassed by any other set Porygon-z can run. There's no use in wasting potential speed investment to 2HKO Blissey when you can achieve the same after a Nasty Plot boost. Sorry but going to have to reject this.

Note that Download will both reveal the lowest Defense stat of the opponents Pokémon and give you a boost. On pokes like Vaporeon this will reveal their set.

It's true, a similar set was removed from the site some time ago. On with the proposed one here, I agree with my QC colleagues.

Feel free to try again with a different proposal later on.
