Porygon-Z and Porygon2...

would it be posssible to use both of them on a team? I would say it violates species clause but both have entirely different roles in battle and having both on a team would not be like having two tyranitars.

Maybe this is a noobish question, I'm new and all, but it just seemed like something interesting to know.
 
I will agree that both porygon-z and porygon-2 have different roles from one another and it probably would violate the species clause. This question probably belongs in the simple question simple answer thread just to let you know;)
 
How exactly would it violate the species clause if they're different pokémon? We are talking about Porygon2/Z, not blue/pink Gastrodon.
 
Well porygon 2 and porygon z both originate from the same pokemon right, porygon so they're like the same pokemon just different sprites and functions.

EDIT: How doesn't it violate the species clause?

Scyther and Scizor.

Deoxys.

Wormadam-Grass, -Ground and -Steel.

Jolteon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Espeon, Umbreon, Glaceon, Leafeon.

They don't break any species clause. They have different base stats (and some of them, even typings/movepools/traits), so they're different pokémon.

isnt it obvious? one pokemon is porygonz and the other is porygon 2

The fact that they do different things would make me even more in favor of allowing them (unlike having a blissey and a chancey for example)

In the same way Scyther and Scizor don't violate species clause. They are different Pokemon.
 
Porygon2 and Porygon-Z do not violate species clause, even though they are part of the same evolutionary chain. They are different pokemon.

Use the simple question, simple answer thread next time.
