FUCK POLITOED
Every rain team has Politoed, and lets face it guys. Politoed is just too mainstream. I believe it is due time for the spotlight to pass to another rain inducer. Thunderous. With his prankster ability, a damp stone, and a rain dance. You set yourself up for an easy rain dance. The main reason for not having Politoed though, is because not having him allows you to use a swift swim user in your team. In addition to this, you will always win the weather battle against a Tyranitar, or Ninetales because more than half of your party can use rain dance. Lastly, after the new nerf to weather inducer abilities, it makes it easier to keep your rain. Overall, a Thunderous rain team just sounds better. Even though mine may be utter shit, at least it doesn't have Politoed.
THE TEAM
POLITOED IS TOO MAINSTREAM
Thunderous@Damp rock
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Rain Dance
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunder
Thunderous, is big, bad, and dangerous. In addition to this, Pokemon Showdown allows you to use him in the OU for some shit reason. His damp rock allows rain to last for 8 turns instead of 5, his prankster ability gives him priority rain dances, and his electric/flying typing gives him a great variety of resistances. A pokemon so perfect for a rain team, he becomes the glue that holds it together.
SWIFFER
Gyarados@Gyaradosite
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Rain Dance
- Dragon Dance
Gyarados skullfucks everything. It is a swiffer sweeper, who with 2 dragon dances can sweep a team without even setting up raindance. With Gyarados's bulk, and twin screens from Bronzong, you can easily set up a rain dance and 2 dragon dances. In short, Gyarados is the badass of the team that shits on everything.

FUCK OFF TALONFLAME!
Jellicent@Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Recover
- Scald

Talonflame is one of the biggest threats this team faces, and Jellicent absolutely rapes it. So seriously, FUCK OFF TALONFLAME!

STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM
~Drake
Kingdra@Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Hydro Pump
- Outrage
- Waterfall
Kingdra is the Drizzy Drake of Pokemon. With an overwhelming 590 speed in the rain, that outclasses every non boosted pokemon in the tier. Kingdra is the premier special Swift Swim user and can devastate a wide variety of pokemon. Making a potent revenge killer, and sweeper, Kingdra is a huge threat to any opposing pokemon in the rain.
TWO SCREEN!
Bronzong @ Light Clay
Ability: Heatproof
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Careful Nature
- Rain Dance
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Earthquake
The loveable steel type pokemon that snuffs out fire. Bronzong is the premier dual screener, that is a pokemon all people building a rain team should consider (in my opinion). He sets up gyarados for his dragon dance sweep, and has great special bulk. Bronzong is a key member of the team, and really makes it stand out.
JIRACHI CAN’T FUCK A STEALTH ROCK
Scizor@Life Orb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Impish Nature
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Defog
- Rain Dance
Scizor acts a nice pivot point, that gets rid of entry hazards (primarily stealth rocks). I chose him over Jirachi because he can use defog, and get rid of stealth rocks. In addition to this, he has a STAB U-turn, which rapes Psychic types. Overall, Scizor is just a solid pokemon that makes a nice fit to my team.
