I mean if the UB plot is post game then it'll be Birds, Regi, Calyrex, UBs so you could just get the bids & regi and stop playing if nothing else interests you
In fairness, it's apparently pretty standard for the horse to be depicted like that when carrying a royal figure. Unless the horse is rearing back, which speaks to the discussion about static images being easier to have more personality.Didn't see anyone mention this yet but I'd like to call to attention that the black horse has the exact same pose as Rapidash's official art when it's fused with Calyrex
This is the second time (that I can recall) of them doing this kind of this this gen, the first time being Scorbunny having Chimchar's exact pose. Equal parts funny and lame.

Its a shame the cathedrel/castle that'll probably be calryex's location is all busted up, it'd be cool to see more medievel artstyled stuff with Calyrex riding into battle on its steed(s)
This is currently the thread for discussing the newly obtained information on the designs. If they feel the need to state that they don't like the relatively mundane design for the dual form, preferring the fused forms of Kyurem and Necrozma, this is the thread where they should state that. Objecting to the more aggressive tone is fine, but the content itself has reason to be here.

the problem is that it is an "gf lazy look at what they made before and look at what they made now" and not an "they did pretty bad with this one" comment, and it is the point of this to talk abt new things, not to trash talk gf
I think we generally just call them fusions because that's what the first instance of this mechanic was flavour-wise, rather than it necessarily being an endemic part of it. For what they're going for here, the visuals make sense -- combining the Pokemon is just how it's represented mechanically.
Honestly if they did forced fusion again it'd be a little annoying. This looks very refreshing and an interesting take on how Calyrex is the King Pokémon.
Also for those complaining that the Shiny forms of the fusions don't have the horses shiny as well, the shiny form of Cramorant doesn't have shiny Arrokudas or Pikachus.

Annoyingly, they've also made it a single key item like the DNA splicers. I thought they learned their lesson on that after they had separate items for Necrozma so you could have both forms at once, but apparently not.
What BSTs are you expecting for the Horses/Calyrex? I personally think the horses may have 600 BST and Calyrex has 680

I'm free to extend my message as far as I want, and in regards to talking about the designs, I can perfectly alude at the reasons why I think those designs lack work. So, not only am I refering to the topic, but you are trying to impose your subjective interpretacion of what you think I really meant.
In other words, if someone were to talk about the horses designs being shit (which is on topic) and then added "Game Freak being lazy again", you have precisely 0 right of shutting down said comment, as we have a right to free speech while maintaining on-topic, and that translates into elaborating the point. I think Calyrex will have high hp and good special attack/defense, but low speed and middling attack.
The form change will kep the HP & Special Defense, but increase the speed to the horse's (which I think will be High and the same for both). I assume one horse will be phys and the other will be special, so one of the offensive stats will get jacked and the defense stat will also rise.

I'm not sure what the typings of those two horses are going to be - like, something along the lines of Psychic/Ice or Psychic/Dark? I don't know...

The horses are Pure Ice and Pure Ghost. As for the fusions the typing are unknown.
As for BST since Calyrex is kind of getting special treatment here and, unlike Urshifu, has not been advertised as something you can take into normal online or competitive play, Calyrex will get in the ballpark of 660~680 and the Rider forms will jack it to like 700~720

If tradition holds: Calyrex's base form having ~600, the horses having around 680, and the combined ones having stats at or above 680. I can see 720 or maybe even a bit more, for parity with Zacian and Zamazenta in their optimal forms; if Calyrex ruled Galar, it makes sense that the cover dogs would be subordinate to it, which has generally been represented with the subordinates having a lower BST.
I'm mostly hoping the combined ones remain as special attackers. We've had enough physical-side legendaries for this generation.
My personal preference would be ice/grass and ghost/grass for the typings.

Considering it's the main mascot of the DLC, I'm absolutely 100% expecting it to be intentionally balanced for Ubers.
