Pokemon Shuffle General Discussion

Does anyone here know what score I would need to get the Blastoise Mega Stone? I need to know if spending 7000+ coins is worth it

For Mega Snowman, I got around 63K using Mega Gengar + Reshiram (lvl 7) + Lucario (lvl 9) + Steelix (lvl 7). I hope it will be enough, I was high ranked yesterday (630 IIRC) but I guess everyone is waiting until tonight to try it !

So, Update. Will edit information as I learn it.

Beedrill appears as a 0:40 Timed Stage. 3 Mons, and he's a Poison type.
Update: Base 60 with Block Smash. Probably more exciting for the Mega.

New Safari. Oddish Line, Tauros, and Abra line. Bug seems the ideal type, and this probably means we'll see an Alakazam Comp soon.
- Kadabra: Base 60 Psychic with Counterattack. Also seems to be a bit of a coin stage, spawns them in response to combos (not sure if they have to be above or below a certain number).
- Tauros: Base 70 Normal with Quake.
- Oddish: Base 50 Grass with Mega Boost.

Mew returns for anyone who missed him.

New Main and Expert Stages, which based on the splash logos include Mega Mewtwo X and Arcanine.

No idea what else at the moment, but I somehow got the stone and a speedup from Mega Abomasnow competition... Yay? Also up to Level 131 at the moment for Diancie.

Wait so each variant of mega forms has its own speedup count? geez
Anyway managed to catch Beedrill itemless on 3DS, also surprisingly found Alakazam and caught him on my second trip to the safari although Risk Taker is a huge letdown. Now I'm gonna see how I fare on mobile.

Finished 750 for Mega Snow man ! Wow ! Of course, I'm far behind to catch Obamasnow ! But I least, I have his mega stone ! :D Managed to get the Mega Speed up :o
Caught Beedrill ! Caught Mew !
Caught Oddish, Vileplume, Abra ! Quite easily ! (With some luck on Vileplume !)

So many new basic and ex stages ! wooow ! :D I will finish the Safari first before going on Normal / EX stages

I'm sure the RNG is broken ... In 15 hearts, I managed to get Abra, Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume, Tauros ... The next 5 hearts were only 5 Kadabra !

Alakazam still missing !

I wonder how it will work for Charizard and Mewtwo with their two megas. Will we get to select which stone we want to use? Catch a second Mewtwo and Charizard for each megastone?

Also, for anyone who missed it the first time, I just noticed the "Once a Day" Pinsir seems to be back again.

yeah, I captured Pinsir today ! I started doing some Normal stages, I'm currently blocked around level 230 ... Some levels are really stupid and coins-machine ! Back to Meowth !

I wonder how it will work for Charizard and Mewtwo with their two megas. Will we get to select which stone we want to use? Catch a second Mewtwo and Charizard for each megastone?

I think they will be two Charizard/Mewtwo with the same level, but two icons because two mega stones (and each mega stone could be fed with Speed Ups separately)

A small joke : they should add in Special Stages (or add category "Favorite Stages") the Meowth (and Ampharos) stage, because it now takes some time to slide the screen between stage 37 and stage 330+

At this point, close to at least a quarter of the new stages are blatantly no-armed bandits that are far for challenging than they have any right to be.

I have yet to find Vileplume on 3DS but I'm trying to reach level 200 on diancie EB before it goes away.

I got everything from the Safari, but I HATE some of these new stages. Golurk requires full items to clear for sure, and I'm pretty sure you'll basically need a Complexity to S-Rank him. Krokorok is simple enough with Rock Break+ on something, but you basically need it to proc to beat him (thankfully it's a free S-Rank in move count). And so many stages are only feasible to S-Rank itemless either with themselves, or particular event mons (like Lugia for Primeape maybe).

So, new content today include a Gyarados Battle and a Mega Charizard X competition.

Gyarados starts with a large number of rocks and is heavy on barriers. Bring Chespin for it, as Gyarados spawns those as a Disruption and it's SE anyway.

I couldn't beat Gyarados itemless, even though I triggered sleep charm twice, cleared lots of chespin when I got disrupted and also got some long chain combos over 20k damage. Some people claim they have beaten him itemless but with very lucky RNG so I would suggeest bringing at least atk+. Also don't bother bringing chespin if you're gonna buy DD as well.

I beat Gyarados using DD and catch directly in a Pokeball with 33% IIRC ! Itemless is too difficult ! My team was MegaGar / Zekrom / Thundurus / Chespin. Got 70K gold, so I will try some normal stages for the next days ... Currently blocked at Kirlia stage.

For those of you who were wondering how Shuffle handles Pokémon with two Megas, the game basically creates two instances of the Pokémon, one for one mega, and the other for the other mega. You cannot, however, have two Mewtwo on the team; If I try to throw Mewtwo (Y) into Conkeldurr's spot for example, it puts Mewtwo (Y) into that spot, but then it shifts Conkeldurr into the slot where Mewtwo (X) and takes Mewtwo (X) out of the team based on the linked.

---

Anyhow, I cleared all the main stages for now and unlocked Terrakion and Virizion Expert Stages. Most of those stages were terrible, really with lots of stages that are ridiculous itemless. At least Mega Mewtwo X is easier than Mega Rayquaza. Of the stages, Drapion, Golurk, and a few others are among the worst of the lot, especially Drapion who despite Mega Start and DD made my board near unplayable once DD wore off and in the end I had to use a Jewel... At least I got it in a Poké Ball, but yeah there are quite a few stages that were just, to put it bluntly, gutter trash.

As for the new content, I managed a respectable 45k with uninvested Lv9 Rayquaza, Lv7 Diancie, Lv1 Xerneas, and Lv1 Kyurem which I am kinda happy with considering lack of development, no speedups on Ray, and being able to get at least a 60-hit combo once. Could be a safe speedup range with more development / faster Mega Ray / general not dropping combinations but I am satisfied. Gyarados I just used DD, MS, and AP ↑, and never looked back, Max capture rate with Great Ball helping.

Now to catch Pokémon / S-Rank stages and grind; I captured everything in the Safari a few days ago and conquered Level 150 Diancie beforehand before stopping.

I expected an update / gift / etc... on Saturday for the 20th birthday !
We will probably have something tomorrow !
For Charizardite, I am ranked 2K9 with Gengar Diancie Kyurem and Articuno (weaaaak pokemon ! :D)

I just jumped all the way from 13900 to 20000 in the Venusaurite competition. I'm so happy, but man was that tough. They really altered the game to the point where they don't reward you for thinking, you just have to hope that you're lucky. Did it with a team of Glalie (9), Heatran (9), Reshiram (8), and Kyurem (6).
