Pokemon Shuffle General Discussion

This EB is much more generous with speedups than the others - 30, 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 all give one speedup, and 300 gives two. No non-speedup levels, except maybe 296-299, should require items.

The Galvantula stage is a massive pain - you'll need items to clear it, and Complexity might be required for an S-rank. I somehow managed to clear Deoxys first time, thanks to Mega Heracross combos and a bit of luck, but it seems quite difficult itemless.

The new Expert 'mons seem quite underwhelming, although Luxray could see some use in a stage with black cloud disruptions as ridiculous as its own stage.

Hey, when do you start to see these black cloud things outside of EX? I remember Zapdos having some, but they weren't a major problem.

Slowly saving up coins to do M-Medicham again. Last time I did it, it was NEARLY THERE when I ran out of moves.
Raged so hard.

Last time I tried M-Cham's stage, I went full items minus Complexity and still didn't manage to S-rank it because I stupidly put Xerneas instead of Goth on my all Psychic team thinking: "It has 20 more base power than it! It'll be just fine!". No wonders I wasn't able to finish it off before DD would run out of juice and start disrupting everything.
Also tried Cobalion, this time full-items+Max team+ enough coins for one mega ball...only for the thing to get away after missing it at 92% capture rate. RNG sure is a fun little function.

Rantings aside, Keldeo-R is a very welcome addiction to Gengar + 3 Fighting teams and having another 80+ base power Psychic is always nice (even though Goth is probably better because Quirky+ > Swap+ imo). Let's hope that next week's new safari has a good coin-farming level ala Staryu so that we can grind coins for upcoming the competition and catch all the new pokes in the less time-consuming way possible.

I just cleared 300, and I can say with certainty that 296-299 can be done itemless. At the worst, the only item you would even require is Moves+5.

50 can be done with just Moves+5 and DD (possibly only DD). 100 can be done with Moves+5, DD and Attack+. From then on, those three become mandatory. You can forego Mega Start at 150, but I wouldn't recommend it for peace of mind. At 200, Complexity becomes debatable but not outright necessary. While the same can be said of 250, I'd recommend against skipping Complexity for that stage. And of course, 300 is an all-out itemfest. Outside of those levels, as Olaph Olaffsson said, none flat out require items.

Already level 300 ? Wow, I only at level 140 and some of them were easily doable, some were terrible (especially the one when you have to do a 4 combo to not trigger disruption) !

Got Talonflame thanks to lucky critical !

Safari has started but it's not a 3 mon safari but a 4 one !

Yeah, I didn't want the Escalation and Safari clashing with each other, so I brute forced it. Had 12 jewels sitting around collecting dust, so I used those for 80 hearts, which allowed me to finish Sunday instead of Tuesday. Now, I can focus all my remaining efforts onto the Safari and once that's done, I can replenish my coins in preparation for M-Swampert. Funnily enough, this means I won't be touching the new main stages (and for that reason, the new EX stages) for at least two weeks.

The Safari Pokemon are going to be as follows:

Roggenrola (27% encounter)
Boldore (15%)
Gigalith (3%)
Fletchling (28%)
Fletchinder (10%)
Numel (15%)
Camerupt (2%)

Expect tons of disruptions and half the Pokemon to introduce a forced 5th support. The common weakness (excluding Fletchling) is, of course, Water.

So far, I've seen Fletchling (twice), Numel (once), Roggenrola (twice), and Fletchinder. Of those, I've only managed to capture Fletchinder and Fletchling. I was prepared to Great Ball Numel, but he ran away after just one throw. Fletchinder is a coin stage. I'm really hoping I don't have to wait long for Gigalith or Camerupt.

I didn't touch the new main stages/EX stages too ... But I have also 12 jewels ... Maybe I will do it :D

What team are you using for Safari ?
I have Mega Gar / Palkia / Swampert / Kyogre all MAX levels but there is maybe a better Water Pokemon with a better ability

Just saying that Level 50 Keldeo-R can be done itemless since I did it first try, though that came off the back of a massive last turn combination...

Up to Level 91 atm and the difficulty has really kicked up here. I did find an ingenious strategy for 81-90 though which involves playing to deliberately force a board reset and then taking advantage of a clear board.

As for Safari, my catches so far are Boldore, Numel, and Fletchling (which is all I have seen, all multiple times). Currently using Mega Gengar/Palkia/Kyogre/Milotic though in light of the new event, possibly replace Kyogre with Swampert but both Kyogre and Milotic (and Swampert) are Level 1 anyway atm so better raise them hahaha. Fourth Pokémon means this safari is going to be a bit more difficult to win. Also got Talonflame after using the free Attack Power ↑ and DD and a Great Ball.

Once the Safari is done and a good score is banked for the Mega Swampert competition, I guess it will be back to making the final push for the 3rd speedup from the Escalation and then catching some of the new main stage Pokémon *coughcoughdeoxyscoughcough*.

Don't think the safari is hell, it's just that the previous ones were stupidly easy thanks to M-Gengar abuse.
I'm on the 90's as well against Keldeo and the difficulty spike is huge, however slowbro has proven to be an awesome mega often getting full board clears with ease while Cress/Diancie take care of the obnoxius barrier disruption on the center of the stage and mewtwo sometimes helps by swaping a rock block.

Got every pokemon in the Safari except numel : I have seen twice Camerupt and once Gigalith but no Numel ! F*** probability ! :D Numel is 15% but I've seen at least 8 times Fletchfinder (10% !)

Safari has been pretty hard for me. Any team tips? Right now using M-Manetric, Zapdos, Palkia, and Marshstomp. I'll probably switch out Zapdos for a Steel type like Dialga instead.

I want to have something for the Flying types though...

Eh, new team is working well though. M-Manetric, Palkia, Dialga, and Marshstomp have been able to clear the stages alright.
Only non-Water Weak mon in the Safari is Fletchling, who's low HP enough to not matter on neutrality.

Remember, in Shuffle, there is only one type by pokemon. Fletchling is pure flying. Fletchfinder is pure Fire. Please, don't be stupid and take only water Pokemon. What will a steel type will do to Fletchfinder ? What will a electric type will do to Numel/Camerupt ?

6 Pokemons of 7 are weak to Water !

Switched to M-Gengar because Manetric wasn't pulling off combos like I wanted. e-e
And you're all really pushy about me having one Electric type for Fletchling...

I was very lucky ... I see twice Camerupt and 1 time Gigalith ... But I didn't encounter Numel in 80 hearts ! :x

Currently level 190 for Escalation ... It becomes more and more difficult ... I'm sure I won't be able to reach level 300 ... Level 200 is of course do able, but I don't think I will try level 250 ...

I found camerupt in my 4th trip to the safari, still haven't found gigalith on 3DS, however on mobile I found both.

I think Camerupt and Gigalith must be a joke. Haven't seen them once. But I have faith I'll see Camerupt at least once because everyone else says they have.

I also predict we'll get a Mega Camerupt competition next.

I really think that the random generator is broken on 3DS ... The probability of not finding one Numel in 80 hearts is less than 0,0002% !

Good luck guys :(

We are getting Mega Swampert next, who is basically the same as Mega Blaziken except it is a Water-type. Should be next Tuesday.

Anyhow I have found and caught everything in the Safari. Currently trying to make it to Level 100 in the Keldeo-Resolute escalation battle but the 90's are absolutely ridiculous levels HP wise and I have been trying to pass Level 98 for about 14 Hearts now though most of my issues is because a team of Mewtwo/Cresselia/Braviary/Salamence has a lot of annoying consistency issues... >_>
