Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
I also did the wild event without a ticket and was disappointed with how unsuccessful I was with the Safari ball as a failed catch was enough to prevent finishing the task so that was a bummer. Among the few highlights were as follows:
- ability to evolve the likes of Venusaur, Pidgeot, Poliwrath, Gyarados & Feraligatr without an elite TM
- got an Origin Dialga with 15/14/14 and Roar of Time
- got a 0/15/15 Mareanne (sp?) which is top rank for GBL great league
With the fusion Necrosma returning to raids in several weeks I'll be saving any remote raid passes for those as I am still lacking the ability to fuse with my lone hundo.
So I guess with shiny Meloetta available the masterwork research for the Unova tour is sorted. With the promise of more HOME distributions in the future presumably we'll get shiny Zarude and Pecharunt before the Galar tour and Paldea tours.
Our plans for going to London for the EUIC are still active as we're seeking plane tickets first so we'll most likely be there. I hope we can meet if all works out as planning.

Quentin & I have been going back & forth in the requests thread and can't get a straight answer because sources either make assumptions or lead to dead links: does anyone here have any of the cap pikachu who they would be willing to test if they can transfer to Home? Even better if one is shiny or a female.
& I mean commit to the transfer, not just "shows up but errors on transfer" like the G-Maxes do.

The good news is my son was able to register for TCG, the bad news is I learned that Pokemon GO is sold out as I didn't expect to fill up as fast through the recent waves online. I plan to still go for the vacation aspect and at least get a spectator badge so I can get into the venue. We haven't looked into plane tickets yet.
So Necrozma Raid Day this weekend has me confused that no news on obtaining a Cosmog has been announced, akin to the Meteorite for Rayquaza's Raid Days.

With Go Fest the confusion I more commonly encountered was people who did not know that there was both a Free Cosmog research and an additional Ticket-Paid Research for a fully evolved mon (usually they only knew the former since you had to finish it to get the latter), but I distinctly recall the Ticketed one at least was announced.
Current theory seems to be that it'll be the next step in the Seasonal Research, since those aren't often advance mentions.

For the upcoming London EUIC I was at least able to get a spectator badge which allows me to get into the center for the event and participate in any side events. While we still haven't purchased our plane tickets yet, the best way to contact me is through X (goateeVGC) or Discord (goatee64).
For those following on X I had something incredible happen during Necrozma raiding, I got my first ever shundo for goateeVGC and was able to get enough lunar and solar energy so I can fuse both hundos so that was a thrill. Now at 269 xl candies and enough that can be traded if over 100 km I can max one of these. Lunar for the non-shiny with the special background caught in July, and the solar for the new shiny. I'm open to suggestions which I can max out first as I may end up doing the shiny since the solar version is ranked slightly higher in the master league GBL.

First, congrats on a Shundo, those are extremely rare (only have 2 myself playing since Launch).
If you're investing for the sake of Master League alongside raiding, the primary thing to watch for is 15 ATK and 15 DEF to avoid missing Breakpoints/Bulkpoints (can elaborate but essentially a stat threshold to cause moves to do 1 more/less damage), which the Hundo obviously hits but I want to ask about both.
Dusk Mane is currently better in Master League since a lot of Dragons are popular up there. Dawn Wings is good but a lot trickier to use as a result of several things with Dark/Ghost Coverage such as Yveltal, Crunch on Zygarde, and the rare Marshadow (runs Sucker Punch as its Fast move) that can really exploit it for energy. If you're trying to get your foot in the door with Mons that pull double duty as Raiders and ML mons, I suggest Dusk Mane Hundo first for a max-out target.
Raiding wise Dawn Wings will have more mons it can hit hard thanks to a lot of Psychic Legendaries (and Ghost but the 2x weakness makes that Boss-move dependent), but it's also a lot easier to find "budget" or alternatives of close-enough power for those fights like Shadow Tyranitar, Hydreigon, Shadow Weavile, and a decent few Megas, while Dusk Mane comes up less frequently (only a few Steel-Weak Legends like 2 of the Regis, Kyurem, Xerneas, Zacian) but is harder to replace in its role (next closest being Shadow Metagross w/ Meteor Mash, then a steep drop off to normal Metagross and Metal Claw/Iron Head Dialga).
So some other news, the McDonalds promotion in the US includes Raid spawns from 6-7PM at the sponsored Gyms, which for Monday and presumably the rest of this Week, are Kyurem spawns. If you have any overseas friends and want in on those to hunt ahead of Unova Tour or something, keep an eye on your "At Raid" friend list, since Kyurem's probably more appealing to many people than the Mega Latis (and is solo-possible/duo-easy).
Orbeetle, Kingler & Alcremie were all teased with Toxtricity, and I think the twitter kept showing them off after that, but like right after the orbeetle tweet they released Lapras in an event with regular dynamax Krabby so it's anyone's game imo.
Change in plans for February unfortunately due to complicated circumstances. We do plan to attend a Pokemon regional in Puerto Rico which is much closer. Hopefully another but better planned opportunity will come for us in the future in Europe so stay tuned.
Don't know if anyone still maintains a PoGo dex, but they just added Fidough to the game for a new event in the Wild, so be sure to snatch that up if you care.
It's also pretty good in PvP if you play that (3rd Bulkiest Fairy and Cheap Charge moves with Charm).
About half of them were released through August, then the Paldea rush started in the last 4 months of the year (& Wyrdeer, for Go). 20 less than in 2022, but 8 more than 2021.
2024 released 40. That's lower than any other year!
I am sympathetic, to a point. After accounting for mythics, spinda & zygarde there is, I believe, only 143 Pokemon left. Technically 141; they announced the Mudbray line was coming to the Safaris this year. 47 of those are legends, paradoxes and mythics; all Pokemon they're in no rush to be releasing and when they are released they want to make them "pop". Probably why they haven't released the raidons yet. And new mons are always the bigger eye-grabs; so they kind of can't push a bunch out.
But also damn man 40 huh? You didn't release anything at all in August? I feel like they could've bumped it up to 50. Also it is so weird to me that the Cursola & Sinistea were released in random events at the end of November & start of December and neither of them were the Halloween release. Like Morpeko is a dark type and has the hunger theme going on for Halloween, but like...ghosts! Corsola-G/Cursola were the only gen 8 cross-gens not released with the others so I just assumed they were sitting on them for a future halloween event. But, uh, no. OK???? No basculegion this year is also bizarre (I mean, for the Go players obviously I already got mine).
