252+ Atk Choice Band Adaptability Strong Jaw Stakeout Gumshoos Hyper Fang vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mew: 764-900 (224 - 263.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

I calc'd this by doing normal type 80 bp Adaptability poison Fang at +4, because +4 is x3 and stake out is x2 and Strong Jaw is x1.5 and 1.5x2=3. If my math is wrong tell me and I'll fix.

Nothing switches into this reliably. Nothing*. With 0 setup. Spiritomb is a pretty safe bet for living one hit, but is then outsped and 2hko'd. Fortunately this thing is slow and frail, so it wont do much of anything versus offense. Which will probably be the dominant playstyle given that things like Porygon-Z also exist. Hyper Fang is your main masticatory mechanism, Crunch is for ghosts. Earthquake can hit steel and rock types harder than your other moves. U-Turn gives momentum and Façade enables you to not be burn bait.

*+4 252+ Atk Choice Band Gumshoos Crunch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Aggron-Mega: 147-174 (42.7 - 50.5%) -- 2.3% chance to 2HKO (Gumshoos outspeeds and lives an uninvested Heavy Slam.)
+4 252+ Atk Choice Band Adaptability Gumshoos Hyper Fang vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Steelix-Mega: 147-174 (41.5 - 49.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO (Okay Steelix lives without Stealth Rock sorrrry I guess I lied before.)
+4 252+ Atk Adaptability Gumshoos Hyper Fang vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mawile: 204-241 (67.1 - 79.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery (I took off the Choice Band to simulate Intimidate... )
+4 252+ Atk Adaptability Gumshoos Poison Fang vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Mawile-Mega: 158-186 (52.1 - 61.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (Mega does better but the problem is this calc is impossible... because Mega Mawile doesn't get Intimidate. So it just dies. Also I forgot Mawilite is unreleased.)

EDIT: I just realized someone posted a Gumshoos set on the previous page but mine is better.

Regular Sableye using Wisp will go before Return, but after a Lv1 Rattata's Quick Attack.
So it basically get's a priority of 0.5? I guess that's the easiest way to put it. I understand what it actually does, but this just seems to be an easier way to describe it.

yep, iirc the simulator handles it as a priority decrease of 0.1 but the specifics don't really matter, this is basically how it works

while this is technically a nerf sableye is slow af anyway so it's not likely to impact its viability in any noticeable way

Rain gets... not a whole lot, really. Pelipper sets rain and gets spare healing from it thanks to Rain Dish, while Ludicolo gets Swift Swim + Rain Dish... but that pretty much covers it. I suppose Critdra being able to run Swift Swim is kinda neat? Idk.
Not the best theorymonner around so I could be completely off-target with this, but I was thinking Relicanth could be pretty interesting on Rain as not only does it have excellent bulk on the physical side, it also gets to spam recoil-less Head Smashes (albeit from a base 90 Attack stat, but if base 95 works for Kingdra in standard this should be alright). Base 55 Speed does unfortunately mean that it's less open to running Adamant, and even with Jolly it still gets outsped by faster Scarfers, but it looks like a solid option on Rain nonetheless (especially since Mega Swampert is RIP)

And yeah, Swift Swim Critdra is definitely cool. As I understand it that set's main flaw is its lack of speed, so with that patched up it's far more threatening than usual.

Sigilyph seems really good. Magic Guard + Tinted Lens means that LO attacks from psychic/flying are gunna be an issue to deal with. On the other hand, it cant be worn down and trying to phase or cripple it only has a 50% accuracy thanks to wonder skin.

Yanmega is also a good Tinted Lens user, with speed boost and lens.

I like that Ursaring has Guts and Quick Feet, so it can outspeed base 106s with jolly nature while also hitting like a truck. This is weird but Tropius has a similar effect in Sun, outspeeding Pheromosa and also getting a +1 boost from Solar Power. A meta where tropius could be fringe viable??

I know sand was already mentioned, and stuff. But man, no one benefits from pokebilities like stoutland do (ok, maybe excadrill benefit more). scrappy, as stated allows stoutland to run Something else other than crunch! Intimidate+rush turns stoutland into a very fearsome mid to late game cleaner. choice band with adamant nature is ofc the ideal moveset, for maximum power. 4 evs in spd so poryz doesn't get the Sp.Atk boost from download. all in all, stoutland is almost godly now lol

Limber doesn't help it AT ALL. But Merciless+regenerator shouldn't be smirked at either. Merciless+venoshock+Toxic will always allow toxapex to crit on its opponent and with a base 130bp move unless their steel typed ofc(Fun Fact: Baneful Bunkers actually does poison steel types!). I use this to hard-counter azumarill/Pheromosa and check other physical threats. Does it p nicely

252 Atk Choice Band Kyurem-B Outrage vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mew: 360-424 (105.5 - 124.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

There are tons of mons with access to the Intimidate + Moxie combo mentioned in the OP - Salamence, Gyarados, Scrafty (+Shed Skin), Mightyena (+Quick Feet), Krookodile (+Anger Point)
Hitmonlee w/ Reckless + Unburden + Limber = 156BP High Jump Kicks from 2x Speed and can't be paralyzed.
Competitive + Shadow Tag Gothitelle for all your Defog punishing needs
Sigilyph w/ Magic Guard + Tinted Lens + Wonder Skin
Bronzong no longer has to choose between Levitate and Heatproof, making it only weak to Dark and Ghost.
Lanturn now has Volt and Water Absorb
Hitmontop can now run Intimidate with Technician Mach Punch
Exeggutor can run Chlorophyll + Harvest to be a menace in the sun
Tropius can do the same + Solar Power to be the ultimate sun abuser
Carracosta w/ Sturdy, Solid Rock, and Swift Swim
Gorebyss w/ Swift Swim and Hydration
Heatran w/ Flash Fire and Flame Body - Flame Body is a very underappreciated ability overshadowed by Flash Fire, now Heatran can punish physical attackers
Miltank w/ Sap Sipper + Thick Fat + Scrappy
Snorlax w/ Thick Fat + Immunity + Gluttony = no longer has to choose between toxic immunity and resistances

crabominable.gif
Crabominable @ Leftovers | Hyper Cutter + Anger Point + Iron Fist
Adamant | 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
• Close Combat
• Ice Hammer
• Earthquake
• Bulk Up

Crabominable is an interesting Pokemon to use, as its abilities help it in some way — Hyper Cutter allows it to safely set up with Bulk Up without worrying of opposing Intimidate or Attack-lowering moves / abilities from hampering its set up. Anger Point, while situational, makes Crabominable threatening if it activates, as no Pokemon would like to take an Iron Fist-, STAB-, and Anger Point-boosted Ice Hammer from a base 132 Attack Pokemon.

Only flaw has to be a terrible typing, which leaves it vulnerable to offensive types in Flying, Fire, Fighting, and Fairy, and a terrible Speed stat that allows it only to sweep against opposing slow Pokemon or weak foes.

Well, it was coded as an OM, so that's how it's gonna be :P

Azumarill decided that it wasn't powerful enough, apparently, so it decided to give itself Grass immunity and make them boost its attack further, the madman. But that's old news.

Marowak can now run Rock Head and Lightning Rod at the same time. Oh, and it disables your moves occasionally or is immune to crits, depending on the form (but who's using mainland Marowak anyway?)

As was stated earlier, Weak Armor doesn't actually hurt Mandibuzz, whooo! And the Weak Armor buff this gen gives it more to look forward to, because it gets FAST when you hit it physically, and who doesn't love a fastwall?

Crustle also loves the Weak Armor buff, because it complements Sturdy very nicely, even if it doesn't activate on Special moves. Besides, are you really going to switch out your Physical attacker and let it get TWO Shell Smashes off?

Cinccino is still what it was last gen (inb4 "last gen?"): A fast and powerful but easily checkable threat.

gigalith.gif

Gigalith @ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sturdy/Sand Steam/Sand Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Explosion
- Earthquake

Best suicide lead for sand teams. Gigalith has caught some attention for being a suiciding weather setter in standard play, but it's way better in this because it gets two other useful abilities it can abuse, and it also has a ridiculously good partner, namely Sand Rush/Sand Force/Mold Breaker Excadrill. Sturdy lets you always live any strong attack from full health, and Sand Force gives it a pretty great offensive presence, making it less of a tauntbait mon. If you pack team support for bulky Ground types then this and the incredibly destructive Excadrill can wreak havoc. Gigalith is slower than other weather setters too, so if you match against one turn one you better believe sand will get up, although you probably wouldn't want to let your Gigalith die just yet.

EDIT: Forgot to mention when I was making this post that Gigalith also gets Gravity, something Tyranitar and Hippowdon don't get, and it's a great move cause it prevents anything from switching in on your Excadrill like at all.

I would still pick Tar/Hippo > Giga regardless what they do differently. Tar being able to full-counter pory-Z unless it runs hp fighting, while hippo has instant recovery to stay in battle Longer than any sand setter. But I guess, then again, it is a suicide sand setter lol.

I mean, you do realize there are teams that run both Tar and Hippo, right? I mean, the set's still sh suboptimal, but your reasoning could use work.

Ferrothorn's Anticipation is now actually helpful since you don't have to sacrifice Iron Barbs for it, and you can turn tail if Anticipation checks positive.

Magnezone likes the extra power from Analytic.

What? I was only pointing out one of the many advantages they have over gigalith as a sand setter. -,- basically, Whatever gigalithe might be able to do (except explosion, i guess??),Tar and Hippo most likely do it better.

Hail gets a fat boost in that everything with overcoat and magic guard don't have to give up their better abilities. Reuniclus, clefable, and komoo were much needed typing diversity. How about that thick fat ice body walrein? Snow warning ice body vanilluxe exists. And there's avalugg, as one last ice body abuser. Is hail huge? No, not really at all. Is hail way cooler? Oh hell yeah.

Real talk though, prepare your anuses for water absorb sandforce gastrodon. Sand will be using that 100%.

Some notes for some pokemon in the meta:

  • Toxapex becomes even dumber, gaining 120 Venoshock that crits every single time, immune to poison and paralysis and STILL getting the Regenerator boost. WHY
  • Kommo-o is now immune to Bullet and Sound moves, while become a perfect fit for weather teams with it getting Overcoat
  • Alolan Sandslash, Alolan Ninetails and Beatric become more annoying and more useful thanks to now having Snow Cloak
  • Pelipper can now restore its health with Rain Dish + Drizzle. This makes Pelipper even more bulkier.
  • Gigalith can now set up Sandstorm and deal great damage with Sand Force, all the while making sure that it will set up Stealth Rocks.
  • Breloom gets best of both worlds with Technician and Poison Heal.
  • Like I said before, lolporygonz

why use gigalith not hippo

why use gigalith not hippo
Gigalith in Sand has better Special bulk, even if it does have more weaknesses. Gigalith also has higher base Attack. (Some people earlier said Gigalith was passive/taunt bait? I'm not sure how 135 base Attack and a 100 base power STAB move is passive lol. Also it's not like Gigalith doesn't also have Earthquake even if it isn't STAB. Gigalith's real issue is lack of recovery.)

Critdra needs both Razor Claw/Scope lens and Focus Energy to have guaranteed crits. Sniper doesn't increase crit rate, it just increases crit damage. Razor Claw/Scope Lens by itself gives Kingdra only a 12.5% crit chance which is not reliable at all. With Focus Energy and no crit-boosting item it's 50%. With both Razor Claw/Scope Lens and Focus Energy, Kingdra has a 100% crit chance.

EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Morning Sun
- Wild Charge
- Will-O-Wisp
- Flare Blitz
With Intimidate, Justified and Flash Fire Arcanine looks nice. It can go both defensive as well as offensive.
leafeon.gif

Leafeon @ Life Orb
Ability: Leaf Guard
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Synthesis
- Knock Off
- X-Scissor/Quick Attack/Swords Dance
Leafeon stands out as the best physical grass type attacker. With Chlorophyll and Leaf Guard it sounds really scary in Sun (fast and immune to status in sun). Synthesis heals 66% of the health, Leaf Blade as the STAB attack, Knock Off for coverage and knocking off. The last move could be anything but after one Swords Dance it OHKOes a lot of pokemon.

EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Air Slash
- Solar Beam
- Dragon Pulse
- Fire Blast
Oh this one is interesting! If Sun is already on don't mega evolve as Solar Power gives you boosted 475 SpA which is pretty freaking scary! Well the rest is a standard Zard Y set.
heliolisk.gif

Can use this thing in Sun,Rain and Sandstorm :)
Ouch I'm Sunburnt (Heliolisk) @ Life Orb
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

Use Torkoal/Ninetales for Sun and you'd certainly need a spinner/defogger like Excadrill, Torkoal (again)!
Choice Band V-Create, Bolt Strike, U-Turn, Trick/Zen Headbutt Victini could be another option for wall breaking
252 Atk Choice Band Victini V-create vs. 4 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Chansey: 730-859 (113.7 - 133.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Not impressed? 252 Atk Choice Band Victini Bolt Strike vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Toxapex: 246-290 (80.9 - 95.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Extreme 252 Atk Choice Band Victini Bolt Strike vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex: 190-224 (62.5 - 73.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Sludge Bomb
- Thunder
Sap Sipper + Hydration + Gooey After Acid Armor looks like a cool wall to be used in Rain
Other members for the rain team could be standard Mega Swampert, Thundurus no miss Thunder, Torn-T Regenerator no miss Hurricane, 130 Atk Swift Swim Beartic, Multiple immunities Lanturn (described below) more Swift Swim users, Vaporeon is another option with Hydration and Water Absorb.

Sand: This is gonna be the weather that will be abused the most.

For covering up ground weaknesses(except grass)
Gigalith and Hippodown (already discussed) should be used for Sand Supply, Excadrill (already discussed) for going straight through teams, Ferrothorn and Lanturn should be used to cover up Water/Grass/Ice weakness. Garchomp to be the potential mega.
I'd recommend against using Heliolisk in Sun; Solar Power, Dry Skin, and Life Orb will kill you in three turns, guaranteed. As for using it in sand, I think it might be worth banning evasion abilities, since part of the reason for their being unbanned in OU was poor distribution and the loss of permanent weather. However, we've now got some very powerful weather setters in Sand Force Hippowdon and most relevantly, Snow Cloak Ninetales-Alola. Now, obviously weather being easier to summon goes both ways, so a blanket ban might not be necessary, but Ninetales-Alola is definitely worth a suspect.

Even more troubling than sand force+mold+sand rush exca? or how about sand force+sheer force lando? Sand might need a suspect way more than ninetales.

Landorus-Incarnate is banned from OU, and will thus probably be banned in pokebilities.

I think Excadrill sounds much more scary than any other weather mon, although Kingdra sounds fun.

I think Heracross will be a fearsome anti-stallmon... in a meta where stall isnt really a thing (cough... Pory-z)
Heracross @ Flame Orb
Ability: Swarm / Guts / Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Megahorn
- Close Combat
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off

Switchins where? Especially when at low health.

So does Klingklang get SpA boosts from having both Plus and Minus? Does it receive double boosts from Magnetic Flux and Gear Up?
