Tornadus-T functions as a good offensive pivot in the tier thanks to its great Speed, access to Regenerator, and ability to generate good amounts of progress throughout a game with Knock Off and U-turn while also doubling as a great check to Grass-type Pokemon such as Rillaboom, Ogerpon-W, and Serperior. Hurricane can be used over Bleakwind Storm, trading consistency for more power, letting it OHKO Ogerpon-W and Rillaboom. U-turn allows Tornadus-T to grab momentum against threats such as Raging Bolt and Kyurem, providing switch-ins for its teammates. Knock Off lets Tornadus-T cripple its checks by removing items such as Heavy Duty Boots and Assault Vest from Galarian Slowking and Leftovers from Ting-Lu. Heat Wave allows Tornadus-T to threaten Steel-type Pokemon that could otherwise switch into its Flying-type STAB attack, such as Skarmory and Kingambit. 168 Speed EVs along with a Timid nature allow Tornadus-T to outspeed the Ogerpon formes, while 16 Special Attack EVs guarantee the 2HKO against offensive Kingambit with Heat Wave. Heavy-Duty Boots allows Tornadus-T to maximize its longevity and fully make use of Regenerator. However, Assault Vest can be used instead to allow Tornadus-T to tank special hits more effectively from foes such as Deoxys-S, Gholdengo, and Darkrai, allowing it to avoid getting 2HKOed by Ice Beam from Deoxys-S and non-Life Orb Darkrai as well being able to tank a +2 Make It Rain from Gholdengo. Tera Steel allows Tornadus-T to resist Extreme Speed from Dragonite and Ice Beam from Kyurem, Darkrai, and Deoxys-S as well as granting Tornadus-T a resistance to Stealth Rock, which can be helpful on Assault Vest sets. Tera Fairy can be used instead, allowing Tornadus-T to resist Kingambit's Sucker Punch and giving it an immunity to Dragon-type attacks from Dragapult and Walking Wake while still keeping its resistance to Fighting-type attacks from Great Tusk and Zamazenta.
Tornadus-T fits best on balance teams thanks to its ability to function as a pivot and progress maker with moves like Knock Off and U-turn and Regenerator for healing. Entry hazard setters such as Great Tusk and Hisuian Samurott pair excellently with Tornadus-T. Great Tusk can break through Steel-types such as Gholdengo and Tinkaton for Tornadus-T in addition to removing entry hazards if Tornadus-T is running Assault Vest, while Hisuian Samurott can check Pokemon such as Weavile and Garganacl. Similarly, Ting-Lu and Garganacl can handle foes that Tornadus-T struggles against such as Raging Bolt and Zapdos. In return, Tornadus-T can remove Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon such as Dragapult and Cinderace with Knock Off as well as handle Grass- and Fighting-types such as Rillaboom, Great Tusk, and Zamazenta that they could otherwise struggle against. Alomomola is a wonderful teammate for Tornadus-T, as they can form a potent Regenerator core with each other, and Alomomola can check physical attackers such as Weavile and Dragonite for Tornadus-T. Offensive threats such as Ogerpon-W, Zamazenta, and Darkrai pair well with Tornadus-T, with the first two appreciating its ability to threaten Pokemon like Rillaboom, Sinistcha, and Landorus-T, while the latter appreciates its ability to pressure special walls like Galarian Slowking, Ting Lu, and Assault Vest Alomomola with Knock Off. These three Pokemon also appreciate Tornadus-T's ability to pivot them in with U-turn. In return, Ogerpon-W and Darkrai can beat Gliscor, while Zamazenta can beat physical attackers such as Kingambit and Weavile for Tornadus-T. Gholdengo synergizes well with Tornados and the hazard stacking cores it finds itself on, since Tornadus-T can switch into Ground-types such as Landorus-T and Great Tusk. In return, Gholdengo can threaten Pokemon that Tornadus-T struggles against, such as Garganacl and Iron Crown. Corviknight makes for a good teammate, as it can remove entry hazards for Assault Vest Tornadus-T while also being able to check Kingambit. In return, Tornadus-T can check problematic Pokemon such as Gholdengo, Zamazenta, and Ogerpon-W for Corviknight. Primarina can check Pokemon such as Gliscor, non-Terastallized Garganacl, and Weavile for Tornadus-T while also appreciating Tornadus-T pivoting it in with U-turn so it can grab setup opportunities with Calm Mind. Moltres can check prominent physical attackers such as Kingambit and Dragonite for Tornadus-T.
