Egg moves

Egg - Brave Bird
Egg - Boomburst
Egg - Mirror Move
Egg - Tailwind
Egg - Uproar

New Move:

Beak Blast: The user first heats up its beak, and then it attacks the target. Making direct contact with the Pokemon while it's heating up its beak results in a burn. 100% accuracy [Flying] 100 BP, Physical.

Stel Wing and Rock Smash are the only physical moves boosted by Sheer Force, so Skill Link is the way to go (no STAB Skill Link attack is pretty stupid, though).

I am not sure how useful Beak Blast will be in competitive play. The moves that people usually throw at Flying types are non-contact moves like Boltbeam or Stone Edge. I guess you can try to punish Knock Off or Rapid Spin?

So Skill Link Bullet Seed and Rock Blast is pretty neat, since Rock/Grass coverage does hit a surprising amount of things for super effective damage. It also gets Brave Bird via Egg Move, and U-Turn. Color me intrigued, although idk how useful it'll be in competitive

It gets STAB Fury Attack.

Yeah, disappointed this thing has no Flying-type multi-hit attack. And hey, it gets Flame Charge which could be neat.

I don't know why, but i'm really pleased with Pikipek and Trumbeak, but I dislike Toucannon a lot. It could be the decrease in speed, Or it's generally low bulk that is combined with a signature move that requires you to survive hits to use it. Though, the high attack is a noticeable buff. Also, why does the evolution line get Brave Bird and Boomburst as egg moves but not as level up?

This does get Overheat, interestingly enough. Brave Bird / Bullet Seed / Overheat for the clean neutral coverage tho

I think you forgot Fury Attack. I don't blame you, since it HAS been kinda useless in previous gens.

So, since Beak Blast is -3 priority like Focus Punch, that means it's probably a 1-turn attack, right? So how viable would using it over Brave Bird be?

Because its speed is so low, I don't think Toucannon will mind the negative priority all that much. Combined with the lack of
recoil and the threat to burn even Fake Out users (Focus Punch's charging phase has +6 priority, so it's safe to assume that Beak Blast will as well), I'd say the move is a pretty viable alternative.

Say - about Beak Blast. Is it 'if it makes contact, YOU get burned' or is it the opponent who gets burned?

"Making direct contact with the Pokemon while it's heating up its beak results in a burn" If you make direct contact with Toucannon heating up its beak you get burn. So if the opponent strikes you, the opponent gets burned.

K thanks.
Sorry, I have trouble interpreting things sometimes (FYI i'm autistic)

Shittier Cinccino with Skill Link. Gets Sheer Force with only fucking Flash Cannon/Steel Wing to abuse it with. At least it gets Boomburst......
It gets Flame Charge and Rock Smash, which are also boosted, but your point still stands.

Toucannon is a curious case. That Attack is glorious, but like seemingly half of the Final Evos in Gen 7, it is slower than its pre-Evo. Still, it has a very interesting movepool, with options like Overheat and Brick Break. Still, here are some possible sets:

Toucannon @ Life Orb
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Brave Bird
- Brick Break
- Bullet Seed / Roost

A pretty basic Wallbreaker. Nothing too crazy, just +2 STAB Brave Bird backed by some coverage for Rock and Steel-Types, as well as Bulky Waters, and Roost for that pesky Life Orb recoil.

Toucannon @ Flyinium-Z
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Tailwind
- Brave Bird
- Brick Break / Swords Dance
- Bullet Seed / Swords Dance

Tailwind let's Toucannon patch up its Speed, if only for a short time. The real draw here is the Flyinium-Z, as it can serve one of two functions. It can either grant you a one-time 190 BP recoil-free hit with Supersonic Skystrike, or it can charge up Tailwind to grant you a simultaneous crit-rate buff. This set is a bit gimmicky, but it is another option for our feathered friend.

Toucannon @ Life Orb / White Herb / Normalium-Z
Ability: Skill Link / Keen Eye
EVs: 152 Atk / 104 SpA / 252 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Work Up
- Brave Bird
- Bullet Seed / Roost
- Overheat

The gimmickiest set of them all. Work Up buff both of your attacking stats, giving Toucannon some modestly respectable Mixed power. The EV's allow it to knock Physically defensive Skarm down to Sturdy, guaranteeing a KO if it has taken any prior damage. Brave Bird is your primary STAB, and Bullet Seed helps to round out your coverage, though Roost can replace it if you want to try for longevity. Life Orb is your weapon of choice thanks to the Mixed power buff it provides, and White Herb can help to offset the Overheat drop a bit. Normalium-Z can be used to give Work Up an additional +1 Attack, so that you can run the equivalent of Swords Dance + pre-Gen 5 Growth.

I am impressed with the amount of viable options this pokemon has. It is very versatile and can make use of all choice items. Great coverage and it will be difficult to wall. Decent stats and ability but its slow and a gimmicky signature move since its not bulky anyway.
