Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Silver Wind
- Flash Cannon
- Vacuum Wave
- Hidden Power [Rock]
Scizor isn't good here :/
It can't do nothing here, can't even OHKO Heatran as it does with Superpower
252+ Atk Choice Band Technician Scizor Vacuum Wave vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 206-244 (53.3 - 63.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
And many Fire types falls to HP Rock, but it's main priority now is Vacuum Wave, then it can't even revenge kill Fairy-types
... it might struggle to revenge-kill Fairies with Fire coverage, but the ones that lack it aren't liable to be a problem for it.
The ability to 2HKO Heatran with priority is plenty good in its own right, letting it
revenge Heatran if Heatran has already been softened up.
Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Spe / 252 SpA / 4 Def
Timid Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall / Aqua Tail
- Close Combat
- Poison Jab
Lol, Keldeo get an awesome set, able to deal many damage, gains priority and a Fighting STAB with more damage, but it loses an awesome STAB that can 2HKO
Clefable wait, probably Clefable is bad, Clefable don't have Play Rough, RIP, then we can think about some other Fairy types. And can 2HKO Chansey if runs Specs with Close Combat as well as Rotom-Wash (even if it runs SpD, lol). Poison Jab allows it from OHKO/2HKOing Fairy types and Zen Headbutt hit 3 great threats to Keldeo specifically Venusaur-Mega, Toxicroak and Tentacruel, but won't be really viable in this meta (but don't allow it to even deal many damage to Starmie, Celebi and Slowking) and X-Scissor hits these Psychic types (Celebi, Slowbro, Slowking and Starmie with awesome damage), but Poison Jab is currently more viable...and Swellow, a great threat isn't able to revenge kill Specs Keldeo with Rocks in field, its a low chance but it's a possible roll (more chance than miss Aqua Tail). And I don't know if it will runs damage or flinch, then here are 2 options of main Water-type STAB.
The abilities remain the same, then Justified won't change, but what about Swords Dance and things like this? Keldeo also gets SD useful in SubSets and something like this...
Clefable is probably still viable just because it has Unaware and a great defensive typing. Also note that it gets
Belly Drum, and so may work as a Physical sweeper with its nightmarishly powerful Moon Blast backed by decent coverage.
+6 252+ Atk Clefable Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 326-384 (97.6 - 114.9%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO
Add Stealth Rock or assume Skarmory is already injured -because Sturdy will let it survive otherwise anyway- and there you go, you crush the default physical wall of most metas. Say goodbye, Stall, Clefable is here.
Gengar now have Shadow Claw and Poison Jab as STABs, they are worse than Shadow Ball and Sludge Wave, but elemental punches and Sucker Punch seems awesome, with Sucker Punch Gengar can potencially defeat MegaZam (unless it use Encore) and is an awesome priority move.
Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spe / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Timid Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Fire Punch
- Ice Punch
- Poison Jab
Shadow Claw is really worse, cuz Jab is its best STAB and Sucker Punch hits Ghost and Psychic types for super effective damage as well as Shadow Claw. Fire and Ice Punch are awesome and are like HP Fire 'n' Ice with a higher base power.
It may also runs a set LO + 3 Attacks with Destiny Bond or any other move, or even a Scarf set with Knock Off over Sucker Punch...and it have also a Choice Specs option that allows it to hit without damage and as Scarf give it a option from using Trick in the set, but Life Orb is still a most reliable option of item.
I'm more interested in Spiritomb, which can pull off a Nasty Plot Shadow Sneak sweep, gets STAB Sucker Punch, and good bulk/typing to get that turn of set up in. Mismagius hits harder and is faster, but its Physical movepool is pretty awful, so eh. Or you can use Mega Sableye over Spiritomb if you're willing to commit the Mega slot, I guess.
Swellow @ Choice Band
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sleep Talk
- U-turn/Air Slash
- Heat Wave
- Boomburst
Swellow (M) @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Air Slash/ U-turn/Roost
- Heat Wave
- Protect
- Boomburst
GG
No coverage for Heatran, unfortunately. Chandelure is also a problem for the Guts set, though less consistently. If for some ungodly reason it turns out Magcargo is meta-relevant (It's happened before) then that's potentially a problem for it too.
Also?
252 Atk Guts Swellow Heat Wave vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 134-158 (40.1 - 47.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
It doesn't actually beat Skarmory.
Swellow might be neat for breaking through hyper offense teams that lack non-Ghost priority, but that's about it, and there's a
number of things like Nasty Plot+Sucker Punch+solid Special Attack out there, so priority is far from dead.
I suspect Swellow will be niche at best.
